My wife and I stayed here one night while traveling north through Mendocino. The Inn sits on large, private grounds about a mile south of the town of Mendocino. The building has warm and welcoming public areas and an extremely friendly staff. We stayed in the Lookout, a good sized room with a view of the inlet below. They serve...

We returned for our third time to BGI. This year we stayed in Osprey and loved that bright, sunny, quiet room. We will request it when we return...which we hope to do many times. The Inn is quiet, beautifully maintained and the views are beautiful. It is reassuring to see the same friendly faces (Guy, Steven, et.al.) upon arrival. They...

So I have stayed at BGI twice. The first time was when it first opened over 10 years ago. I understand the overall "upscale cabin feel" that they are going for and generally it works. For this it earns 4 stars. As for it being one of the top 25 places to stay in the United States, I'm not entirely...

Thank you for your review. The challenge for any innkeeper is to elicit this feedback during a guest's stay, rather than receive it after they have departed and be unable to address their concerns when they are occurring. Unlike many bed and breakfasts built a century or more ago as homes and later converted to hospitality properties, Brewery Gulch was...

BGI surely shows great attention-to-detail and is a well-maintained, beautiful property at a central location to a lot of wonderful exploration of the Mendocino area. As we drove up, following the inn's very helpful directions to look for them beyond their water tower (there is no cell service on that road until you get up to the inn and/or into...

My delight with Brewery Gulch started before I even arrived. I loved the email communications citing various activities to do around the area: suggesting restaurants, and offering numerous extras at BGI like massage treatments, gift baskets, and unique offerings such as the Photo Safari – the pre-arrival concierge was fabulous! I opted to order a bottle of champagne and have...

As a retired Travel Editor for numerous magazines I have the background to share this opinion: no one should miss the opportunity to stay here....ever! The ambience and food offerings are only surpassed by the friendly and professional staff.

My husband and I just returned from our third visit. Beautiful location, perfect rooms, great food and outstanding service, like visiting a friend's home. The common room is very comfortable and conducive to meeting other guests. The fireplace is unique and there are games, movies and books for quiet rainy evenings. The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly, they...

Great inn...superb location...amazing food, staff and service. Me and my husband stayed at the Pine room (1st floor) only for one night in Feb 2017...we were celebrating our 5th marriage anniversary and loved our time there! We found a chilled bottle of sparkling wine and a bag of local handcrafted salted caramel waiting for us in our beautiful, clean and...

The Inn is a gem. The rooms are welcoming and extremely well-appointed. The staff provides legendary service. You feel at home and yet your every need is anticipated. I loved having big breakfast and light supper included in the price. It allowed us to snuggle in at night with a movie or game or good conversation. Our excursions/hikes were all...
