The best time ever! Nature all around us from the balcony on! The staff is so accommodating, kind, and helpful! The incredible birds, the amazing trees, the scenic ocean are just a part of the spectacular view. The full breakfast and wine hour with light dinner were delicious! The luxuries of the Inn made our stay so very comfortable, relaxing, and invigorating! This is paradise!
Sarah checked us in and had such a welcoming and kind personality. The customer service was exceptional, we have traveled all over the world and this is one of the most hospitable places I have stayed. The coastal views are gorgeous and the room was equally as beautiful. We really enjoyed the patio overlooking the coast. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back. The extra touches were nice like the binto box, big fireplace where we had coffee and read the paper, and they had a great variety for breakfast.
Stayed in The Lookout room. Not as large as the room we stayed in on a previous visit (Raven) but certainly more than adequate. View of the ocean was lovely. All furnishings top rate. We were warmly welcomed and offers of hot or cold drinks as well as homemade pastries fulfilled desires we didn't know we had. Breakfast was fun and delicious. Afternoon appetizers we considered to be our smallish dinner were also fun and unusual to us. 3 1/2 hour drive for us. Interesting to share stories with other visitors that came across the country.
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Perfect doesn't even begin to summarize how wonderful our stay was. Everything about this hotel is so thoughtfully done and with the highest quality. The service is wonderful, all the staff is so friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and the rooms are beautiful. The food is to die for. The breakfasts are delicious and filling. The wine and appetizer hour is a highlight. Truly the best hotel experience we have ever had.
This was our first stay at BGI and we were so impressed! Why had we not stayed here before?? The staff was so kind and courteous. The food was excellent - breakfast can be eaten downstairs in the spacious dining area or in-room. We did both and liked both options. Happy hour is also included in the price of the room and was more than we expected - basically a small dinner, with wine and beer options. Eating out on the deck offers great views of Smugglers’ Cove. Fresh baked goodies are set out on dining room buffet each day and they’re wonderful. Coffee and tea available all day. Our room was beautiful (Raven) with a lovely view. We were sad to learn that the owner has sold the Inn, but were assured that the new owner is keeping things status quo. We hope so. This place is an absolute gem! We highly recommend it.…
Wow—truly we were amazed. We are thoughtful, planning types who love to host. It is extremely rare that we are anywhere that feels up to the service and care we would give out to others and Brewery Gulch was amazing in this regard, thinking of many considerate and generous touches. The staff leaves you only with the feeling that they truly care about you, truly are celebrating with you and happy with you, and truly enjoy having you around. In every way it was a sincere pleasure. We will be back. Also—food and coffee are incredible, and we are annoyingly picky with both!!
We just came back from a weekend stay with friends from beautiful Mendocino. The Brewery Gulch is a small boutique Inn that is very comfortable with a great lounging area and deck that was very inviting. We spent a lot of time at the hotel all gathered enjoying wine and playing games. The made-to-order breakfast was creative and very delicious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I have had the opportunity to stay at BGI on multiple occasions, as well as many other places on the Mendocino coast. BGI is BY FAR the best!! Somehow Guy & his team exceed my expectations (which are high) every time. It is clear they all love what they do. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed, the accommodations are impeccable, the breakfasts & happy hours are outstanding, and the scenery is gorgeous. When I have friends traveling with me they are blown away by the entire experience. If you're planning a visit to the area you'd be remiss by not staying here.
We have stayed at a number of places up and down the Mendocino Coast over the years. Nothing compares to Brewery Gulch. Starting with their offers to help before we arrived (getting us into hard to reserve restaurants), to the painless check-in, to the quality of the room. Each room is unique. Ours had a nice deck with a view of the ocean cove below. As with many quality places, there is wine and beer offered in the early evening. Brewery Gulch takes it one step further with a complimentary bento box of a very nice snack (could be a light dinner) that is different and freshly prepared each night. included the cooked snack, a vegetable or rice and a dessert! Breakfast is part of the package too, with a very creative menu. This place is 5 minutes from the town of Mendocino, so you are not missing out by not being right in town. Also, things normally charged extra for (water, ice tea, fruit and other snacks) are readily available in the lobby. There is a wonderful common deck adjacent to the lobby and dining area for everyone's enjoyment.…
If you are considering staying here - do it! You won't regret it! It was clear to me that Brewery Gulch Inn's owners put their guests' money back into the inn: well maintained property, plush well-appointed accommodations, high quality food, excellent staff. We've all had the disappointing experience of paying a premium to stay at a "boutique" place only to find the quality and service to be the not-so-premium. Brewery Gulch Inn is NOT that type of place and delivers a wonderful experience that's worth your money. I spent two nights in January at Brewery Gulch Inn for a solo getaway from San Francisco. I was looking for a comfortable stay near nature at a bed and breakfast that I felt confident was taking COVID safety seriously. Brewery Gulch Inn exceeded my expectations on all aspects. It was a delight from the moment I stepped through the doorway. The property is very well maintained, and rooms are well appointed (Sferra sheets and Habidecor towels!) I stayed in Osprey and it was a delight both inside by the fire and outside on the private balcony. The food was high quality and delicious, you can tell the care taken by the kitchen to create these small batches of food each day. The people at BGI really brings this all together: from the innkeepers on duty to the dining and housekeeping staff, they were all warm and friendly. Most importantly, everything at the inn was safety oriented. Indoor masking was still required during my visit, and everyone was appropriately masked (with free masks available at the desk for those who forget.) The common area was well-spaced out and ventilated. I was initially planning to spend much of my time outdoors on hikes or wine tasting, but the inn was SO welcoming that I didn't feel bad about spending more time at the inn, reading and resting. That said, the inn is really well situated and a short 10 minute drive north to main Mendocino town, and beautiful parks within 30 minutes both north and south on Highway 1. If you can peel yourself away from the comforts of the inn, treat yourself to a bath at Sweetwater Spa in Mendocino, some fine seafood at KW Saltwater Grill in Fort Bragg, and buy some gift jam from Mendocino Jams to take home with you! It's been a long time since I've had so many small, delightful moments in one stay: the innkeeper bringing me a blanket while I was reading outside on the deck; strolling down to the quiet great room to make myself a bedtime cup of tea; sitting on my deck and watching the woodpeckers at work on the trees outside; sharing a laugh with the innkeeper when buying an "emergency" bottle of wine at the front desk (at retail price!) . I felt restored, pampered, and content after my two nights. I'm grateful to live not too far away, because Brewery Gulch Inn is now one of my favorite places to stay and I will be back soon.…
