The furnishings are quite special - old-time luxury and flair and yet ~very~ fresh and cozy. The morning breakfast was a truly lovely experience with special recipe dishes prepared on site and a handsome dining room to enjoy while eating. We had a great night's sleep in our quaint and quiet room and enjoyed hiking around the nearby McCloud Falls...

This beautiful, historic bed and breakfast was built in 1904 as a private residence for the president and owner of the McCloud River Lumber Company. It retains it's original charm. There are breathtaking views of Mount Shasta. The rooms are very comfortable and furnished with period furniture. Delicious breakfast. Alice, the owner, grew up in McCloud and tells wonderful stories...

I recently took my wife out for my birthday dinner here. The atmosphere is great, quiet but friendly. I wanted to enjoy the cozy Lobby with a glass of wine and the owner plus staff made us feel just right! We had the crab cakes, mussels and steak. We enjoyed all of it!! Will go back for another dinner!!

We made our first trip to Mt Shasta/McCloud for our anniversary. We had much better lodgings in McCloud than Mt Shasta. We spent one night at the McCloud Hotel and one night at the McCloud Guest House. The Guest house at the edge of town is smaller than the Hotel and quieter. The owner Alice was gracious, breakfast was good....

Breath taking is the only way to describe the views from the front porch of this classic building, built in the 1800's. The views of Mt. Shasta are amazing, and this place sits on acres of beautifully manicured grounds, with grass and trees. My wife and I found this place, and spent a night there over the past summer and...

What an amazing home with beautiful landscaped grounds; not to mention, the owner, Alice, and other hostess, Francis, are so warm and welcoming. Alice knows all the history of McCloud so pick her brain (she did, after all, grow up in the town built on lumber). The Guest House is enormous and the craftsmanship is like nothing else. Breakfast was...

Some friends and I had a reservation at another hotel in McCloud but didn't like it. We went to the local bar/restaurant to ask for recommendations and several people there said: the Guest House. We got there but nobody was there, so called the number on the front door and within minutes the owner Alice was there showing us around....

It's expensive; there is a reason all area hotels except this one were full. The expense includes breakfast. We had to leave quite early... earlier than the scheduled breakfast, which is not at all early. It would have been gracious to have offered at least a bowl of corn flakes, or told us something we could grab ourselves, but nothing...

This is a wonderful inn. Ken and Deborah are terrific hosts - down-to-earth, friendly, but let you enjoy your vacation quietly if you'd rather not engage in conversation. Great place to walk around the lovely town, read a book on the large porch with rocking chairs, fall asleep by the fireplace at night. Breakfast is great!!! Highly recommended at anytime...

“All of the rooms are spacious, the honeymoon suite is amazing, with the whirlpool tub, large spacious room, and big comfy bed!”

“Any room is great, but some have showers and some have claw foot tubs so to each her own, but the bubble bath is more romantic. Also, there is a whole separate guest house that accommodates two couples; it has an entire kitchen and complete privacy at the steal-of-a-deal price of $145 a night!”

“The rooms were pretty much the same but the 5 rooms upstairs were a bit cheaper than the ones downstairs. I didn't hear any noise during the night, nothing kept me awake. The beds were simply wonderful, as good as my Stearns and Foster back home.”
