This was our first visit to Nick's Cove, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage called, "Uncle Andy's." It was much roomier than expected, and we really liked the fisherman theme throughout. King size bed was comfy and the large bathroom had radiant heating flooring. The cottage had a front deck with view of Tomales Bay, and the back deck had a pleasant view of the natural forest-like setting behind the cottage. The pace here is nice and slow, just what we were looking for. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed having breakfast delivered to our cottage every morning. The restaurant is open from 11am to 7pm and while the menu isn't huge, the food is tasty and portions are large. We'll definitely be back, and look forward to trying a waterfront cottage next time.…
We stayed in the Fly Fisherman's cottage, which was beautiful and spacious. Bed was super-comfortable -- you could wake up and see the bay without getting out of bed. The bathroom was enormous with his & hers sinks and a huge walk-in shower. Loved the 1920s-era vibe, while everything was sparkling clean. We were sorry to leave!
Went to Nick’s for first time in 3 years. Still love the place, waterfront view and beautiful bathrooms, but the kitchen area was beyond beat. Guys need to update cupboards, counter, fridge, etc. Also need nicer Adirondack chairs on the porch. Restaurant and bar closed at 7:00. The view and the charm are still there, but for $700/nt it should be refreshed some.
Nick's used to be a destination for a weekend meal. No longer. You order your food from a window at the entrance, find a table, and someone brings it on plastic. I get it - Covid. But really, the place has turned a bit dumpy (in my opinion), Only half the room is open, the other half (bar and small seating area) just not comfortable anymore. I used to love this place, but I'll skip it for a meal in Point Reyes Station, or West Marin or such. Totally disappointed, we won't be back.
My girlfriend and I rented Al’s Cabin for a birthday trip and we were blown away by the level of hospitality provided by the staff. Courtney, who checked us in, was beyond helpful and seemed to truly care about our enjoyment and comfortability during our stay. The cabin was immaculate and well worth the price. The waterfront view, beautiful interior, and ambient noise of the water all make it a very special place to stay. Thank you to everyone at Nick’s Cove who helped to make this a wonderfully relaxing and fulfilling birthday getaway. We will look back on it fondly for years to come.
We stayed in the Fly Fisherman house. From front to back and top to bottom, it was thoughtfully designed including a heated bathroom floor, vintage books and a super comfy bed. The gardens are gorgeous & the views beautiful. Breakfast delivered to the room was a real treat. Service all around was terrific.
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, incredible service and great people, Nick’s cove is the best. They have comfy beds and an amazing view. Plus, no cell service is incredible! We can’t thank them enough for a great vacation.
We came for a wedding and could not have been happier. The cabins are rustic but comfortable, with all of the amenities you need. The staff is friendly and quick to respond to any requests. And the area is like a piece of heaven that has somehow escaped over-development. You can't go wrong with the surrounding restaurants, either, especially if you like oysters.
My wife and I just returned from spending three nights at Nick's Cove. We stayed in Ruthie's cottage, which happens to be one of our favorites (along with Jerry's). For several years we have noticed, and those of you who have also stayed here can attest, the sofas and chairs have been in much needed repair or replacement. Happily, all that has be resolved. While we did not see the insides of the other cottages, Ruthies have been completely redone. The walls and floors were re-painted; the bathroom has new wallpaper, and many of the lamps replaced. The overall impression is the cottage feels refreshed without losing any of its original charm! We would love to see the results of the other cottages! Wade, the general manager, informed us the restaurant will also be remodeled as well. One of the exciting additions a gift shop will be added to the front of the restaurant. We can not wait, when we return in November, to see the additional improvements. I am sure those of you who will return to Nick's Cove, will enjoy the new refresh. Wade and his staff of Angela, Kortney, Manny, Diego, Darwin, etc. always make my wife and I feel so welcomed. This may sound a bit corny, but something like "Cheers", where they know who you are.... Oh, and it's dog friendly as well.…
Everything about our stay was brilliant. Absolute highlight: a dangerously delicious breakfast delivered with a Chronicle. Absolutely awesome. Definitely treat yourself to the egg sandwich and Irish coffee. The service, the accommodations, the location—we didn't want to leave. The bar was stocked with my favorite spirits, too. Everything was just too good! The wind was wicked, blowing hard the whole day we arrived, but I won't hold that against the good folk at Nick's. Even that leant the experience an air of the exotic (and made the wood-burning stoves in the cottages all the more of a treat). We will certainly be back as soon as we can to check out the other cottages.
