Overall a gross and filthy hotelroom, people smoked inside, bad service and hospitality and a small and gross breakfast. We came at 11PM and left at 7AM and even that was too long! Even when we came in the boy at the front desk asked us if we don't want to book another hotel....

The Monarch Inn is a little gem located in Mariposa and is the PERFECT gateway to Yosemite National Park. The drive to the park is about 45 minutes and you can do the perfect one day (or more) trip to see the highlights. We booked as a family (2 adults, 1 child) and were pleasantly surprised by the rooms and the amenities of the hotel. Free parking, free breakfast and fast, free WiFi ... you can't ask for much more. The rooms are spacious, clean and equipped with a microwave, a fridge and a coffee/tea maker. An outdoor pool, as well as vending machines and ice makers are also at the property as well. The staff is super nice, motivated and helpful. More towels, more soap, more coffee pads .. no problem. Great service with a smile. If you need anything, ask Doug. He is the new manager of the Monarch Inn and was 100% committed to making our stay memorable. And while the hotel does not have a restaurant, there are many eating choices in walking distance and the friendly staff was more than happy to send us in the right direction. There is an outside seating area in front of the lobby that's just perfect for having a quick bite before or after a day in the park. Before booking I did compare prices and given the breakfast, parking and WiFi, the Monarch Inn was a good deal when I booked it and a great deal when I checked-out. A clear recommendation and we will definitely come back!

Clean spacious room. Clean bathroom and shower. Convenient location for Yosemite day trips. Nice little town with bunch of restaurants. Two things to improve - bathroom door was very dirty soaked with some grease at the bottom, and either needs fresh paint or replacement. Strange, honestly, compared to the overall cleanliness of the room. Breakfast was convenient but very very basic with small stations area that gets quite crowded with guests waiting for toasts. Having another toaster and freshly made oatmeal is probably the quickest improvement to the lines and instant packages. Bad coffee too (and I’ve had coffee in many different hotels with continental breakfast). Overall, pleasant stay - definitely recommending.

We actually ate there going and coming from StLouis. Food is always good and fresh. Charlie had the kid meal which was two very large chicken tenders. Best tender I have ever had. He had fries, a drink and a cup of ice cream and declared it “incredible”! We stop there a lot!

My visit with my friend was enjoyable for most of our stay. The hotel seemed a little worn down. The linen needs replacing. Breakfast was ok. Lots of Danish and cinnamon rolls. Went to check out and a young lady, name started with a M, was rude and disrespectful. She has no idea what the word hospitality even means. It is not about you. Take care of your guests.
