we just spent 2 nights at the Motor Lode Lodge in Mariposa and what a nightmare. T.v was so snowy you couldn't watch it. We had made a reservation way ahead of time and ask for a king or 2 queens but instead got put in what I guess was the family suite which had 2 double, a single and...

Spent a week here. Found owners and staff to be very nice and friendly. Room was clean. Motel and whole town had some vintage charm. Learned about gold rush days while here. Hour and half from yosemite.

Pros: Clean and good housekeeping, comfortable bed, microwave and fridge in room is useful. Central location in mariposa Cons: very loud due to paper thin walls (not helped by obnoxious neighbours) and an ice machine in the car park making noise periodically throughout the night.

This was the most we paid for any accommodation on our three week stay in the USA and that includes San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Vegas and 8 other stops. The place is tired and a little shabby. Air con is weak and just keeps the edge of the heat rather than chill the room. After a long journey we really...

I looked at pics online... and expected a cheap motel. It is obviously quite old and there is nothing luxurious about it. It was a little pricey considering the state of the rooms, but location is everything, so I felt the price was justifiied. When I pulled up, I was actually pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is still a motel, but...

We stayed here en route to Yosemite and our room was clean and comfortable. It was by no means 5* hotel standards but everything you would expect for a small motel. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed using the outdoor pool. Some nice local restaurants and bars within walking distance of the lodge.

First room we were shown looked out on to main street with no blind. Changed room - air conditioning did not work properly and room was dated. There is some parking on the level by rooms otherwise parking is on a steep slope.

Too expensive for a not very well kept and run down place. There are no hair dryers and irons. Customer service was not very professional. Check out a day early due to uncomfortable bed and animal noises crawling within the cracks of the wall of the building. Won't recommend and won't return.

This was the least expensive place we could find within an hour or so from Yosemite. We booked it the night before we arrived. The room was dated but clean. The staff was nice. We didn't use the pool. We walked to the shops and eateries in town. The office has limited hours and doesn't open until 1 pm. There...

Welcoming, but dated accommodation and very pricey, but you are within an hour of Yosemite NP. The lady in reception was most helpful and very polite. Our room was very old school and is in need of refurbishment, as is the pool. It was adequately equipped and the air conditioning was effective. No breakfast option, but we had a fridge...
