The only reason I gave them 4 stars because the property is in need of update. Its old but very clean. They did an amazing job cleaning the room. As I requested due to my son's condition with OCD contamination. I loved the location and the view from our room was worth every penny. I will definitely stay here again.

The services in the hotel are excellent. The restaurant is located over the marina, it offers an excellent view, the servers are very professional, food is good. The Houskeeping is also very good. Every day while we were having breakfast they cleaned our room. I also love their art collection. I would say you can feel it is well managed.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a trip up the coast. The staff were very friendly, the room had a great view and good amenities. We were very grateful to the valet for their advice when hiring beach cruisers and loved the breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the marina. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient but I think they were short staffed as there was often a wait for tables when the restaurant wasn’t busy. The only complaint would be not being told on check in that we could stay and use the facilities after checkout. I’d asked for a late check out which couldn’t be accommodated but wasn’t then told that there were showers and lockers we could use. It was only after we’d left the pool, showered, changed and checked out that we were asked if we wanted to use that service. By then it was too late. Slightly frustrating when check out was midday and we weren’t leaving for the airport until 5.

I recently stayed here while on a business trip. Every interaction with staff members was pleasant and uplifting. It reminded me of stays at other Ritz properties in the distant past--it was classic Ritz service. The restaurant was great as well. The property itself is a little dated but still well kept and beautifly detailed.

No accommodating at all! I travel with my 3 small dogs all the time and never had any issues with hotels. They always welcome us even if they have a 2 pet policy. I even booked a Junior Suite and offered to pay an extra cleaning fee. So disappointed!! Especially for this supposedly being a luxury hotel. I had to cancel my stay and look for another hotel that will welcome us all! I will never stay at a Ritz Carlton again

Dear everlastingdetail, Thank you so much for your feedback about your recent encounter with us. I can certainly understand your level of frustration from your review. I am so very sorry that we were unable to accommodate you and your animals while at our property. We try to remain consistent with each of our guest and adhere to the policies in place to avoid variances. I am sad to hear that this experience has caused you to lose all faith in the brand. That is definitely hard to read. Wishing you the best while traveling. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Have a great day!

I travel a LOT and have Marriott Titanium status. I have to say the people who work at this hotel are 10/10. We stayed here using the Fine Hotels program with our American Express Platinum and we had an incredible experience. The people who work here are top notch. They are professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The views from the hotel are spectacular. We ordered room service several times and it came in a timely manner and everything was delicious. The only thing that keeps me from giving this hotel a five star review is that it could use a little refreshening. Thank you Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey, for a fantastic stay!

It would be nice to be able to separate out different aspects of the hotel since some are very good, others not so much. The good: Beautiful design, lovely views over the harbor of Marina del rey. The design of the rooms and lobby are really elegant. The bar serves great cocktails with excellent staff. The front desk staff is very professional, helpful and attentive. Not so good: We were surprised by the less-than-great amenities in the room. There was only one robe for a room meant for two people, The toiletries were skimpy (for one) and off-brand. The bath mat literally measured 12 x 18". No slippers. It seems like they were cutting corners. The massage was bad, but I've learned not to get hotel massages. The staff figure they're never going to see you again, so who cares? The Cast & Plow restaurant has really great food but the service is very uneven. I think they are short staffed due to covid. The capper, though, was Sunday brunch, when we reserved a table for 4 at Noon. We arrived on time, expecting a booth table facing the port. Instead a make-shift spot had been set up directly under an opening on the terrace where the awning was missing, exposing everyone to the hot sun. One of our party was elderly, the other has a serious health condition and neither could be exposed to the hot sun for the meal. We asked to be moved and were told that there was no other place. Ok. We asked for an umbrella, and they brought one (with eye roll), which had such a massive base that it could be approached closely enough to shade more than one person. We asked for another and were told no by a woman who shrugged and walked off. We were left to sort ourselves out, shifting the umbrella, the table and ourselves until we could arrive at a solution that almost, kind of worked. The staff was totally unconcerned. It then took over an hour from the time we sat down to be served. Some items never arrived, but still managed to appear on the bill. All in all an uneven experience, one expects better from the Ritz.

This hotel simply did not live up to the name it is branded with. The suffocating marijuana smell throughout the hallways reminded me more of a Motel 6 than a Ritz Carlton. Service was very so-so, especially when the pool lady very aggressively asked us for our room number just when we were grabbing a cup of water. As if one would sneak into the property just to have a 2-oz cup of water. The furnishings in the room were pretty, but the size of the room itself was simply disappointing. The TV was not super big and not angled in a way that both beds could easily see it. Let's just say that the most memorable thing about this hotel was how "weedy" it smelled. For a hotel of this price, it was simply a disappointing experience.

Totally blown away by the customer service offered to us. Contacted before we arrived and asked if any special occasion for the visit. Upon check in we were told we had been upgraded for our honeymoon, and upon entering the room we discovered balloons and rose petals on the bed. This was followed by chocolate covered strawberries, cookies and a bottle of champagne delivered to the room. Staff couldn’t do enough for us during our stay, and were a credit to themselves and the hotel.

As a platinum Marriott, I have stayed at almost all of the US Ritz hotels. With the exception of the Buckhead location (which is no longer there) this is my favorite Thankfully the Club floor is open again post Covid. You are greeted by name and the food offerings are great. I drink a special brand of vodka for my martinis - they go downstairs to the bar and bring it up (and obviously there is no charge). The pool and hot tub and fitness areas are great. They have bikes to ride around the marina. I usually don’t use the concierge at hotel but this lady is great.
