We had a fantastic stay at Marina Del Rey as part of our honeymoon road trip. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we had longer! Friendly staff and very efficient check in - they also sent us a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries with a hand written note as it was our honeymoon. The location is great, we had a room overlooking the pool and marina, it was beautiful and very peaceful. The pool area was never too busy and it was lovely to relax here in the afternoon. Located in Venice, it's a short walk (or bike ride/drive) to the beach and Abbot Kinney boulevard which has lots of lovely shops and restaurants (recommended the Butchers Daughter for breakfast and Salt & Straw for ice cream). There's also a great local's cafe by the beach called The Cow's End who do great coffee and bagels. It's a bit further to Santa Monica and the pier but easily do-able on bikes. We have family that live in Santa Monica so we borrowed bikes etc, but there are lots of places you can hire these, plus canoe & paddle board hire on the marina. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked nice and was always busy, the cocktails were good. Our room was very spacious, clean and the bed very comfy. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area - it's very safe and close to all the action but it's also nice to have a quiet and private escape if you want to. Can't wait to come back!

Hotel's Favorite
Truly surpassed our expectations of a “3-star” hotel. I will be forever grateful for the surprise of chocolate covered strawberries and wine plus personal note celebrating our 20th anniversary that we received upon checking in. I mentioned the special occasion when booking the room, but never expected much of anything let alone this wonderful gesture. Thank you! The room and facilities were clean and fresh feeling, the grounds were inviting, and the location facing the beach and waterway made us feel like we were truly carefree. Front desk staff was efficient and the valet was very helpful with directions, instructions, and that added bit of local color that we weren’t going to get from just reading things online. We rented bikes — good price and pretty good condition. We wished that the bikes had hand brakes, though, as the old-fashioned pedal brakes are dangerous. The only demerits I can think of was noise. Room doors slam shut and are easily audible within rooms down the hall. A softer closing mechanism would solve that. Walls are much, much too thin. The sound of a television or conversation was fully audible at night as we tried to get to sleep. I do give you credit for well-designed sliding doors to the patio that significantly reduced the sound of beachfront parties late into the night.

We rented the beautiful Antigua room for our Mom's 90th Birthday celebration. The whole process by the event planning staff was seamless from beginning to the actual date, and was beautifully set up when we arrived. The staff working the event were so nice and helpful, it was a big success for over 30 guests! The food was great, and all was presented beautifully and very timely for a large party. I would highly recommend the property !

I stayed here for five nights with my daughter. We had a twin room with two large double beds and balcony overlooking the gardens and the beach. It was spotlessly clean and all the staff we met were friendly, polite and very helpful. The first two nights were quite noisy as our room was above the bar and the hotel was hosting a sweet sixteenth and a bar mitzvah . This was definitely the exception rather than the rule and the rest of the stay was very peaceful. The staff did apologise for the noise but it really was not a big deal. The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The air conditioning was efficient too. I also noticed that the public areas of the hotel were well maintained and always clean and tidy. The breakfasts can be recommended, generous portion size and delicious food. All made extra special by eating on the terrace overlooking the beach. The pool was never busy and always clean. The outstanding feature of the hotel for me was the staff. Bar staff, waiters, reception even the guy who organised our bicycle hire were a complete delight. Friendly, welcoming and always had time to chat and help out where needed. We will hopefully be going back one day very soon!

We were in LA to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We picked the Jamaica Bay and we are very glad that we did. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted me in having a great treat of chocolate covered strawberries, wine and a bouquet in our room when we arrived. The location on the Marina is an oasis of calm and tropics in the heart of the city. We will be back to stay again. Thank you specially to Hope and the front desk team.

Great location (1 mile walk to Venice beach pier), hot tub, flowery grounds, & marina/lagoon view. No microwave, minimal coffee offering. Room with full view on 2nd floor had vaulted ceilings & balcony.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of hosting a party for my 70th birthday at Beachside at the Jamaica Bay Inn. They did not disappoint! The food, the service, everything was just perfect. They went above and beyond what I expected. They were very accommodating. Christina as buffet captain and Megan as catering sales manager couldn’t have been more helpful. I highly recommend you give this place a try for your next party. We had the Bermuda room and it was very comfortable for 28 people.

I stayed at Jamaica Bay Inn last minute on a whim after a very unpleasant Airbnb experience that I needed to leave. Roger Valenzuela, front office manager was so helpful from the start that I was immediately put at ease that I wouldn't be stranded with nowhere to go in LA. Due to my Hilton Honors Gold status he was able to give me an upgrade to a lovely room overlooking the small Mother's Beach that is located behind the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the staff and service is really great and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The hotel does need to be renovated and updated but to be honest I did not mind at all since it was such a lovely experience. It actually made me a bit nostalgic for my west coast roots :-) I do think with an upgrade and renovation this property could be really fantastic. The location is amazing only 10-15 minute walk from Venice Beach and the Canals. Very quiet and peaceful also. Really such a delightful stay. Thank you to everyone.

”Sliding” door to the bathroom stuck in floor and not possible to close due to uneven floor. The mattress so loud when turning, wake you and partner up. The room is in urgent need of an update. Do not expect any privacy in the bathroom. Friendly staff but not worth 385$ a night.

Coffee machine in room doesn't work, no coffee in Lobby, restaurant supposed to open at 7, it's 8 and they still "have no coffee." What kind of place is this?? It's water and beans.... Other than that the location is good.
