#1 of 9 hotels in Marina del Rey
Travelers' Choice
Sweeping 180-degree marina views, private poolside cabana suites, a 3,500' private event lawn and that's only the beginning. Before Marina del Rey was Marina del Rey, the Marina del Rey Hotel was there. Over the past half-century, the marina's most classic waterfront hotel destination has served as the central meeting point for local yacht clubs, fashion shows, and high-profile Los Angeles functions. Once host to legends like Jacques Cousteau and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, all are invited to rediscover the Marina del Rey Hotel just in time for the 50th Anniversary of the marina. The all-new, 164-room Marina del Rey Hotel now boasts 4-star amenities set against the marina backdrop of yachts and aquatic adventurers.

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Highly recommend. Antonio, Ali and Jose were so helpful and friendly….the saying is, you only get one chance to make a first impression. They take this saying to heart!

Beautiful hotel with some friendly hotel staff. The valet staff was fast, helpful, and friendly, as well as the front desk staff. Valet priced at $48/daily is a bit steep. As for the night staff, the man at the front desk was not so great. He yelled out to our kids who forgot their masks in the room, and said, “you come here!” and waved to hand them masks. There is always a better way to speak to people, he obviously needs the training. The rooms were beautiful and clean, however, our suite smelled awful. Hopefully, they’ll invest in a better air filtration system and fragrance. We booked two rooms and the other one was fine. We had a great view with an extended balcony. We walked over to the bar at Salt and the bartenders were less than accommodating. I waited a good 5 minutes to even be acknowledged and finally get my order in. I understand if restaurants are busy, but at least acknowledge your customers. The pool was nice and warm, and not busy at all during the evening. The cabanas were nice and we dined poolside. Food was decent, not worth the price though. Overall, we loved this hotel, but they definitely need to make some adjustments to staff and rooms.

A terrible hotel that steals your personal belongings and refuses to be held responsible for it. We came several times and asked to see the cameras, but they did not even try to think in the direction of the client and refused for no reason. There is absolutely no respect. Nobody needs you in this hotel. In all hotels in the World, they will at least try to help you! This hotel is the worst decision!

July 4th Weekend: We have been guests here many times. This is our go to place. The employees are outstanding. As you approach the parking lot you feel the sense of comfort and serenity. The greeting from the valet parking technicians set the tone that you will have an awesome stay (thank you valet for your assistance). At the command center (front desk) you meet staff who have more patience and character than a dentist (love it). The elevators are properly located to get you to your room, the pool, the bar, and the restaurant. Whether it’s your first or tenth visit, your room has the best views, atmosphere, and it feels like the first time. When you get to the pool you feel like you’re next to not just the pool, but the marina water - because you are, and it is very nice. The restaurant has great food and staff. By the way the restaurant staff kick butt and handle any workload conditions brought forth. Kudos to the restaurant staff and management for accommodating our vast list of needs; especially the chocolate cake (you know who you are. You were busy when I approached you and you made it happen. It was my wife’s bday weekend - you saved my life 😂😂😂). When you get to the pharmacy — ooops, I mean the bar, you will experience the best of drinks. The bartenders have a personal skill level equivalent to that of an anesthesiologist or hypnotist (depending on the drink). They are super friendly, super nice, and helpful under all conditions. I also express appreciation for the housekeeping staff and those who are truly behind the scenes, especially the managers and technical people who magically make sure things work. We will be back. :)

I have stayed at the hotel at least a dozen times. I liked it in the past because it was a good value. However, it is now completely understaffed. Although the prices have remained the same they have stripped away their service. I was told they wouldn't clean our room, The restaurant closed early (and could not accommodate guests staying in the hotel. The room had no lamp, no towels, no glasses. All of the snacks that were available previously were removed. When I called the desk and asked for towels and glasses I was told I'd have to come down to them to get them. The pool lounges were dirty, they didn't pick up dirty dishes. Overall, terrible service. Will not return.
