#1 of 9 hotels in Marina del Rey
Travelers' Choice
Sweeping 180-degree marina views, private poolside cabana suites, a 3,500' private event lawn and that's only the beginning. Before Marina del Rey was Marina del Rey, the Marina del Rey Hotel was there. Over the past half-century, the marina's most classic waterfront hotel destination has served as the central meeting point for local yacht clubs, fashion shows, and high-profile Los Angeles functions. Once host to legends like Jacques Cousteau and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, all are invited to rediscover the Marina del Rey Hotel just in time for the 50th Anniversary of the marina. The all-new, 164-room Marina del Rey Hotel now boasts 4-star amenities set against the marina backdrop of yachts and aquatic adventurers.

This hotel is one of my favorites in LA and anywhere! The beds are wonderful. The rooms are fresh and clean and are usually quiet. And the people that work there are fantastic. Especially both Nancy and Hee Sung. Not only do they care about the place, they genuinely care about the guests. I can't wait to return.

My dad and I biked to the hotel to eat at their restaurant, Salt (very yummy and great service). When we were leaving, our kryptonite U lock would not unlock. The key was not turning all the way and we were having difficulty. Ali, from valet, came over to help us. He ended up researching that the cylinders had gotten misaligned, grabbed a paper clip from maintenance, and luckily got the u lock unjammed! He went above and beyond, and my dad and I were incredibly appreciative.

The staff here is incredible. I will take a separate moment to write a full review, as I was here to grieve in bereavement. For this review, I’d like to say thank you, kudos and amazing job to Elijah, Jose, Danny and the entire Valet team. You took very good cats, you were always courteous, prompt and kind.

We had a big crew in for a celebratory brunch today, The food at Salt - inside the hotel - was great and the bar staff was excellent. We definitely overwhelmed with the size of the group, but they adjusted well. Also, Eddie and Danny H were super nice running the valet parking.

First, this is really a motel. The three-pip rating is about right, not terrible, but please don't think of paying for something this place isn't. It thinks it's something more, perhaps because of the fancy cars parked out front. Well, they're either going to their boat, or else to the bar SALT to see if they can pick up one of the Love Island wannabes - sitting shivering in a two-piece next to the fake fire - that was too skanky to get chosen for the show. But it's a motel, and not a great one. See the picture of the "furniture" in my room. About the title, my new thing is to post the maid service interval, in hopes that we customers start to vote with our feet and get what we pay for: fresh coffee, towels and a made bed. Anyway, this place told me on checkin that it would service a room if it was requested 24 hours in advance. I did. And it wasn't. "Sorry sir, we've no record of that." Save money and stay somewhere decent.
