Love the Sea View Inn!! Over the last few years we have stayed here 3 times (in 3 different room types) and it has always been great. We travel from Australia and find that staying here gets us into the time zone and relaxed before we start the next part of our trip. There are a variety of room types depending on your requirements and number of people. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, rooms and common areas/pool are always clean. The beach is a downhill walk, about a block or two, and the hotel supplies towels/chairs/boogie boards etc. if you surf, there is a surf shop within walking distance that hires boards, with some good surfing normally at El Porto (again within walking distance). There are several cafes/restaurants/bars within a short walk. It is a 20/30 min walk to Manhattan Beach (pier area), which also has a lot of eating and shopping options, there is also a supermarket in Manhattan Beach where you can get groceries, we normally walk down and Uber back. Looking forward to our next stay!!

this place is brilliant!!! It just felt like I had gone back to my childhood spending my vacations at St Pete's beach in Fl back in the 90's. Property consists of four buildings and you are located dependant on your room type. Staff are lovely and very welcoming - I got the impression it is a family run property and it just gave it that lovely vibe that they are happy you have chosen to stay. Check in is at 3pm and check out is 11am. (it does clearly state upon check in that if you are late for check out they will charge you - I cant blame the property for this as they need to turn the room around for their next guests) There is on site parking and dependant on your building your room is you may have undercover parking which is helpful especially in the height of Summer. Parking is $25 per day (as per Sept 2024). Personally a little steep in price, but again this is a beach location. Do make sure you place your parking card on your dashboard otherwise you may get a ticket. We opted for the Premium Sea View room and it did not disappoint. Granted that the place could do with a small refurb, such as new bed side tables and a lick of paint - but you are not here to spend all day in your room! Good bathroom / do bring your own toiletries as the shampoos&soaps etc are small. large fridge, coffee peculator. Air Con. large TV and plenty of storage space. Your room is cleaned every 3 days. If you need more towels, just ask the front office. You are located on the main road in and out of Manhattan beach - it can get very loud especially the young ones with their car engines so if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you unless you are in a room located off the main road. The beach is located about a five min walk - to get to the beach, you walk down a steep hill - walking back, especially when its hot is not easy. those with walking difficulties I suggest parking at the actual beach. the main Manhattan beach street where there are plentiful restaurants/bars is a one mile walk along "The strand" beach front and what a lovely walk especially when the sun is setting. If you are staying during peak times or over the weekend - do make reservations for a table at the restaurants. There are a few restaurants/bars literally a 3min walk from the property. Sloopys across the road is lovely, there is also a pizza takeout which is great if you want a chill out night. Very popular breakfast places too. We sadly did not have time to visit these breakfast places, but if the locals go, you know its good. Pool towels / beach towels / beach chairs / parasols / bucket and spades for the kids / bike hire - ALL FREE OF CHARGE AND COMPLIMENTARY!!! What beach property offers this to you?! not many...absolute bonus and a plus especially when you come for a long weekend and only have a carry on - no need to worry about beach towels. they just ask you to bring back the items by no later than 8pm and for the bike hire you can rent these for about 4hrs. there is also an on site swimming pool - we did not use it as we spent out time at the beach but upon taking a look at the pool, the water was warm and very clean. LAX airport is about a 20min drive (if that) local Target to get groceries is about a 10 min drive. I would 100% stay here again and only wish I could have stayed longer.

This is our second time to stay at Sea View Inn. If you are planning to spend time at the beach, this is an excellent place to stay as they provide beach towels, chairs and toys for children. I recommend the deluxe accommodations which give you an ocean view from living space and balcony plus a second sink which is helpful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a bakery and general type store with prepared foods and sandwiches and salads made to order with several good restaurants within two blocks. It’s only a 15-20 minute walk to pier and lots of boutique shopping, and more restaurants. I look forward to our next visit!

Our stay in the Deluxe Penthouse was overall pretty good. I loved the balcony with the ocean view. I enjoyed how efficient the AC and heating unit was. It was also nice to have access to a stove and a full-sized refrigerator. The swimming pool was well-kept and clean. I appreciated being able to take toys to the beach with my kid as provided by the front desk. They will give you towels for the beach and the pool as you go as long as you ask for them. They have a large hamper to put them in upon returning. Areas for improvement: There were LOUD, squeaky, plumbing pipes anytime our room or one of the rooms next to us used the water. It created a high pitched squealing sound that would last sometimes for 10 seconds and other times for 20+ minutes. This would happen at night or during the day. I recognize that updating pipes is not an easy or cheap fix, but absolutely needs to be addressed, even if it is just sound-proofing the walls. I am not overly sensitive about cleaning, but I do draw the line at hair being in more than one place that is extremely sensitive to guests. I found several long, black hairs (I have blonde hair) in the bed, on the pillow case and on the sheets. There was another long, black hair on the toilet seat. I set the toilet seat down (it was up to indicate that it had been cleaned) and the hair was on the top of the toilet seat after letting it down. I noticed that me and my daughter's feet were often black and dirty after walking around barefoot on the floor even after showering. I do not think the floor tile has been properly cleaned in a long time. The living room TV did not work except for the Roku. The tv's in the bedrooms, the cable and remotes worked fine. I did not contact the front office for the cleaning and noise issues because 1) Picking up and removing the hairs from the bed and the toilet seemed silly even though it was extremely uncomfortable. 2) The staff would not be able to fix the plumbing or sound proof the loud/squeaky pipes during our stay and I did not want to move rooms as our luggage was heavy and we had unpacked already. Tips for travelers: Bring your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash/toiletries such as Qtips/cotton balls, and lotion. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and I have never seen such poor quality and cheap shampoo/conditioner/bars of soap. They were more fit for an old camping trailer. If you are looking forward to soaking in the tub in the Deluxe Penthouse, you will enjoy it, but the jets do not work as a head's up. Additionally, unless you run the water at very hot initially for quite awhile, your bath water will be lukewarm and body temperature and there is no more hot water for a long time. Run it hot, keep it hot, towards about midway full.

Unbelievable location. Room was clean with modern shower (two queen bed room). All beach necessities included just pick up at office including chairs, umbrella, beach toys, coolers…parking at sight in great and reasonably priced (everywhere charges) conveniently located to sight see area, we visited Catalina island (about 40 min at best to Long Beach to catch ferry), Hollywood/Beverly hills and Malibu all within 1 hour drive. LAX less than 10 minutes. Manhattan Beach is an amazing town, great restaurants and some cute shops, upscale. Visit uncle Bills pancakes, recommend pineapple coconut pancakes and sit outside. Have stayed once before and will continue to return. Best location and beach out of all the area hotels in my opinion. Just a note: beach and strand are minute walk but down steep hill. Can drive to public beach lot for easier beach access if hills are a problem.

The Sea View Inn has gotten it right, from the incredible location and views of Manhattan Beach to the down-home charm of vintage art, clean, cozy rooms with lovely views (even from the shower), balconies, and freshly ground coffee, to a heated pool, free use of cruiser bikes and beach gear, convenient parking, and impeccable service. This place has a futuristic-retro vibe that makes us want to return again and again. Meeting the owners was a true pleasure, as I had already been singing their praises to my Girlfriend before I realized who they were. We have both traveled extensively, and highly recommend the Sea View Inn.

We have been traveling to Manhattan Beach for over seven years, and it has become a cherished tradition for our family. Every summer, we bring our children here, and I also enjoy a solo trip in December, just before the Christmas and New Year's rush. We've always wanted to stay at Sea View Inn, and when I found an opening, I booked it immediately.
We stayed in the Cottage, which was perfect for us since we spent most of our time at the beach and exploring local eateries. I adored the little European bakery right next door. The Passion Fruit Croissant is a must-try, and don't forget to grab a cappuccino before heading down to the beach in the morning. The nearby market and Beach Pizza were amazing as well!
One of the best features was the availability of beach toys and towels, making packing so much easier when traveling with family. Plus, the pool area was a nice alternative if you need a break from the beach.
We had brunch one afternoon at Sloopy’s, and the food was fantastic. Upon departing, we stopped for coffee at Two Guns Espresso to get our caffeine fix for the drive home.
Sea View Inn has certainly become our favorite spot to enjoy the beach and local hangouts. We will definitely be back, and next time, we hope to stay in a room with a balcony to enjoy the beach view. Thank you, Sea View Inn, for making our first experience an incredible one!

The rooms are very loud because it is on a busy street. You will hear sirens all night long and cars blasting their music as they speed by. The bathroom is lke a YMCA bathroom with terrible lighting. We stayed for four nights but only had one roll of toilet paper and a couple towels. Because the office is separated from the units, across the street, it doesn’t feel like there is great customer service. But you can certainly go ask for some more toilet paper! You also have to cross the street to visit the pool and so it’s not a simple thing to pack up your kids and pool stuff. You have to commit to staying over there for a while. On the plus side, it’s very close to the beach, you can borrow boogie boards and the neighborhood is really fun. Loved Manhattan Beach, but would choose a different hotel.

This hotel is in a great location, short walk to beach and several restaurants and bars. You are really paying for the location however. The room was small but decently furnished with basic, functional stuff. The toiletries were a joke, 2 small motel soaps and a few packets of lotion and shampoo. The check in process included a litany of rules and fees which you had to initial and included the loss of a key would incur a $125 fee, parking was $25 in a tiny lot on the property and check out was 11am and if you were a minute late you would be charged. The front desk actually called us at 10:35am to remind us that check out was 11am. The front desk staff was not friendly but more like a rule enforcer. I can honestly only recommend the hotel location and nothing more as it was overpriced on all other aspects.

We stayed @ the Sea View Inn @ the Beach for 4 nights this month. Our room was on the 3rd floor above the office. It had a balcony with fantastic views of the ocean and sunset. The location on Highland Avenue is about a mile north of the Pier/Downtown MB but this is actually much better. This section is where the locals go and there are lots of good restaurants. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View Inn and take advantage of the free beach cruisers. Warning - The 4 block hill to the beach is not for the faint of heart but it is super easy access to the beach. Enjoy!
