My boyfriend and I spent 1 night at the newly renovated property and we had a wonderful experience. Our room was clean, pillows were super plush, very stylishly decorated, and the property is in a great location. We spent the most of the evening at Malibu Wines which was only a short uber ride away. We will be back for another...

My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend of 10/1/16. We loved it, something different than your typical hotel. Felt more cozy..."homey".....hipster. The two ladies at the reception desk were so sweet and walked us to our room. The rooms have no AC but open the windows and feel the ocean breeze! I saw some retro fans in some rooms, I'm...

The Malibu Riviera Hotel just recently remodeled and reopened, and WOW! This hotel and done a complete 360 because these rooms were very nice. Everything you need basically a walking distance, nice rooms and great customer service. Gave me an iPhone charger when i forgot mine and the staff is very accommodating. Definitely the best deal for a Malibu hotel!...

The million dollar question is, "When will this jewel open?" I talked to one of the new owners when driving by and they are really giving this place a complete overhaul. It is going to retain the charm, but be a lot cleaner and brighter. Looking forward to see the improvements.

I'd been meaning to write this for ages! Stayed for a night on our road trip in 2015. The dude at reception was awesome and gave great tips for our stay in terms of where to drink and eat, celebrity spot and just hang out. Our room was clean and tidy and did exactly what it said on the tin.

I needed a place just for the night because we were filming on the beach and I wanted a place for my daughter and the crew to chill between the day and the night shots. The room was clean, the lights could use some rewiring, and be ready for no air conditioning. Our room hard a large fan that really...

We had a family wedding in Malibu and needed accommodations for 2 nights. This location was ideal and the price certainly was more attractive than other Malibu alternatives; however, even the other bad reviews of this place did not prepare us for the initial shock of opening the door. It wasn't just the blind that was left at a 45...

good experience, we had low expectations, we reckon it is a bit pricey for value but the accommodation was decent after all. ended up here because camping was full. it is located on the quiet side of Malibu, very close to the Zuma beach and we saw an amazing sunset there at Point Dume State beach and also lots of...

This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. It is a total dump. You would do better to stay on the beach in a tent. The place had no AC. The bathroom had mold in the shower. There was a hole in the wall and their fix was shoving a couple of hand towels in the hole....

We booked this place last minute because all of the camping areas were full (we didn't realize you need to reserve a camping spot 48 hours in advance - oops!) The front desk lady was nice and gave us a AAA discount and then furthered the discount again when we asked her for a place to eat and she recommended...

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
