We absolutely love everything about the Malibu Beach Inn. The location right on the water & by the pier is perfect. The accommodations are comfortable and the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

Loved this hotel. It is right on the beach, and you could hear the ocean throughout the night. The rooms are quite small but nicely appointed. No bathtub, only a shower. The Restuarant was lovely too.

Amazing place, I always stayed there, the staff are amazing, and the place is so beautiful. Recently I changed to an Airbnb nearby called Malibu suites and we had the worst experience. I will never go there and I will stick to Malibu Inn. It’s an amazing place with amazing staff

A great location on the famous Malibu beach - even if the Pacific Coast Highway right outside makes access difficult. Staff were excellent, views superb, food very good and valet parking helpful. The room was large enough and the bed comfortable.

We enjoyed the most Romantic & Relaxing 5 star stay for our belated anniversary in August. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a lovely junior suite #103 with its own private entrance & fountain off the parking lot, plus Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room! Our suite was huge with a double size ocean view deck 2 chairs, table and one chaise lounge. It had a super comfortable king bed, large living area with super sized TV, robes and complimentary slippers you can take home! We have THE BEST TRAVEL ADVISOR! If you don't use one you're missing out on huge perks every time you travel. Feel free to contact ours, Denise Schaefer at Plaza Travel 818-907-2269. We didn't feel a need to ever go off property as the restaurant here, Carbon Beach Club, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food, drinks and wine (an extensive list BTW) were all delicious.I highly recommend the breakfast tacos and French toast! Our favorite thing was spending the day on the beach in the chaise loungers with umbrellas that are set up by the staff. There is a limited but decent beach menu. I do think it could use a couple more items like chips, salsa & guacamole. The guys that handle the beach service are SO nice and work so hard. Typically, it's just one person handling all the beach guests with chairs, umbrellas, food, drinks etc. We made sure to tip them directly because if you tip on your credit card it goes to everyone pooled together to split which is great but in this case these guys deserved some extra $ love! I'm a huge animal lover so it was amazing that we had a pacific harbor seal that visited daily and hung out on a rock right in front of the hotel. I named him Jerry. Make sure to book an ocean view room, you won't be disappointed. The sounds of the waves are so relaxing. We truly had such a magical stay and it helped that every employee we encountered was so nice and helpful. Huge shout out to the employees that stood out and went the extra mile to make our stay amazing: Oscar & Rinalda at the front desk, John & Jesse at the beach, Edwin at valet and Aleah, Rogelio, Jessica, Jason and Sofia at the restaurant.

The personal attention in this boutique hôtel is fantastic. Great food and drinks in the restaurant. The beach is literally à staircase away. When you do venture out of this oasis there are endless shops, activities, muséums, and other fantastic restaurants within close proximity. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our first time here. Beautiful beachfront property in. We are staying at a junior suite! Beautiful cozy room with a spacious balcony. Clean hotel, great service and great food! I just wish they had a wider good selection by the water, maybe some shrimp cocktail, ceviche, watermelon slices…Staff is very welcoming and accommodating especially Jessie..the server by the beach. He goes out of his way to serve with a smile all the time! Love that!! Definitely recommend and will return!

Great couples get away! We stayed on the third floor and left the doors open to hear the waves crashing all night! The rooms very nice bed super comfortable! The customer service is so great also! Every member of staff is so friendly knew us by name by the second day. Want to shout out to Kelly at the beach, he got us chairs and drinks, our bartender & server at the restaurant Lucian was so friendly and made the best drinks, and Rogelio at the restaurant was the nicest warmest server! He made us feel like we were at home! Made our anniversary very special for us!!! The food was very great here we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here! The choices for wine was top notch! And all of the craft cocktails were perfect! Perfect little getaway for couples!

The Malibu Beach Inn is what it is: a VERY expensive motel trying to act like a luxury hotel, but missing the mark in a few areas. The good: * It's directly on the ocean and it seems that most (if not all) rooms directly and immediately face the crashing surf -- and it is most definitely CRASHING, as it impacts the rocks and concrete pylons supporting the hotel. It's amazing to sleep to, but can be loud. * The rooms are small (we had a "King Premier Oceanfront" at 350 sq ft), but comfortable. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is cramped, but clean and pleasant and has a Toto bidet toilet, like all civilized places should. Most things worked as designed. The balcony is right there on Mother Pacific, but it's a little cramped and not that comfortable. * The hotel staff was very good. Reception was professional and quick. The valets hustled and smiled and offered water bottles. THE BAD * For being right on the ocean, there's really no usable beach at the hotel. Depending on the tides, they valiantly stuff some guests in recliners on about 12 feet of sand. So, instead, you walk down the coast (on the PCH shoulder) to the bigger beach and scurry down a dusty embankment and deal with the crowds there. Fine. It's a beach. But just be aware that there's not much, if any, usable beach at the hotel. It's all sturm and drang on the rocks there. * It's cramped. Crammed in there between the raging PCH and the crush of the sea. There's clearly no pool. No hot tub. No other facilities. Just the motel rooms and the dodgy restaurant. * Speaking of: the restaurant is not great. It's right there on the ocean, which is lovely. But they cram a lot of uncomfortable tables and chairs out there and let loose a torrent of mediocre food (the paella, dear Lord, the paella). The good news is that it's not particularly expensive, so you need not feel too bad about it. * What IS expensive is the hotel room. I know it's DIRECTLY on the ocean and I am happy to pay a premium for that. But we paid $1200+ / night for 350 sq ft of 3-star opulence. (I know. It's not YOUR fault that I agreed to pay that amount...but I'm not that bright and you might be more clever). * I honestly think they charged me $13.15 for a 12-ounce bottle of Coors Banquet Beer from the in-room minibar. I'm deadly serious. And it's not funny. I would frankly never happily agree to drink a Coors to begin with, but the rest of the minibar selections were equally trite and I wanted to see if it was still crap. (It is.) Here's the thing: I expect to be taken to the cleaners with stupid markups at any hotel minibar. But $13 for a stupid little bottle of Coors kind of sums up my feelings about this entire hotel: They are trying so hard to be "cool" (the embroidered pillow in my room gushed "I LOVE IT HERE") and maybe appeal to the kind of weekend hipster who wants to quaff a $13 bottle of Coors, but it's just not good enough to justify the price. At HALF the price, it's EVERYTHING. Maybe they should embroider that on the pillows...

My two adult sons and I stayed overnight here on our way up the coast. We felt like royalty as soon as we pulled up to valet/registration. Everyone was super friendly and our experience here was flawless. Listening to the waves while sleeping in luxury bedding was perfection. I will definitely be back for a longer stay.
