What can I not say about the Malibu Beach Inn!? Our visit started with the ever friendly and likeable Dustin taking our car and luggage. Check in is swift although it is worth pointing out, they can only swipe cards at the desk which, if like me you have a swipe limit on your card, this can cause issues. I had booked queen ocean view rooms and frankly there is no place on earth, I’d rather be. ‘I love this place’ really hits the mark. The rooms are ample with nespresso coffee machines, two TVs, a fireplace, desk and fancy bidet toilets. The carbon beach club is fantastic, their new chef is on par, if not better than the chef we had last time we visited and the team there make sure you’re well catered for. At breakfast we had Ramone, who cannot do enough to help and is very courteous and polite

Super friendly and helpful front desk and beach staff. Way way overpriced for what it actually is, a small boutique hotel on an extremely noisy highway ( we had to use earplugs to sleep). The beach is cute but the water is never like in the picture that they display. Food limited and overpriced and carbon restaurant very average. Finding a ride back to the airport was challenging, only Lyft seems to go to this area. The hotel deals with two limo services that must be booked in advance which nobody tells u…not much going on around this location, only the Malibu pier that is home to just one restaurant and one cafe.

I flew 16 hours from Shanghai to LAX then drove 90 minutes here to Malibu. I requested an early check in since I would arrive at 8 am and requested this in advance. The terrible intern that works at the front desk still keeps me waiting and now tells me check in is at four pm. If I had known this in advance I wanna have stayed at Shutters on the Beach in nearby Santa Monica or the Californian in Santa Barbara both better values and more attention to service. So far despite the cloudy weather and average ocean view this place appears underwhelming more like a tired Days Inn with a bland neutral worn out interior. It’s been a horrible experience. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

We’re very happy with our stay. The room was really great. But so disappointed with the restaurant. For a minute my husband and I thought we had COVID. Because we couldn’t taste anything. But we realized the food just had no flavor. Recommend not eating at the hotel.

Wonderful time from the moment we arrived with reception and delivery of our bags to room. Stunning views and room was on 3rd floor and just wonderful. The staff, food, ambiance were all first class. Loved every moment and can’t wait to return. Thank you all for making it so memorable.

Top of the line experience. Fabulous location, good food, extremely attentive staff, very clean and comfortable. I wish I would have known what an exceptional experience I was going to have, because I would have planned my entire trip around this location. So relaxing sitting on the balcony listening to and watching the ocean at your feet. I will definatley return and recommend highly.

Room Tip: I was in 203 and could hear only the ocean and kept my balcony doors open all night.

Gazing upon the ocean, listening to the waves and totally relaxing. It was sad to leave but did so with sweet memories! The staff was available for every request. It didn't have the feel of a high class hotel because everyone felt like a friend.

Hotel very nice on the inside - the outside looks dated. Bathroom extremely small. Quite overpriced. Food good slow service which is strange as the restaurant is also very small. Lovely views over the sea from the restaurant. On the main road so can be noisy.

Hotel is located right on a beach. We enjoyed our room that was spacious, well decorated and everything worked. Their shower is cleverly designed. The shower nob is opposite the shower head so you don’t spray yourself when turning it on. Staff is friendly. Restaurant serves wonderful food. I ate Avocado Toast, Salmon and Nicoise Salad. Kid burger was burned. Not sure if they must fully cooked the meat for health reasons or not. I think it is better designed for adults than families. Location is idilic for the couples in love who can stroll on a beach and enjoy Pacific Ocean views from their balconies. No spa on site. And no shuttle service but their Uber and Lyft. There is no pool which kids love. And Beach is very narrow. Not sure it is the best for kids. We made the best of it, however.
