We must've just hit this State Park at the wrong time. We were told it was a great place to see birds and wildlife, but we didn't see any at all. Disappointing. The drive, however, was curvy and scenic. And there were lots of campers...More

We started at the sand spit road parking lot and walked down to the beach. We then strolled along the beach for an hour toward Morro Rock, before turning around and only saw a hand full of other people the whole time. Very beautiful, secluded...More

Big WOW for this state park. We spent the day hiking here. Bring hat, water, jacket, camera and lunch, good walking shoes and a smile. The power of the ocean is truly felt here. There is a beach as well as hikes on the cliffs....More

A beautiful easy walk on a paved walkway along the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Enter the national park and drive to the end. The views of the crashing waves were amazing, rock formations and the birds.

As far as I know the park only offers camping but the city of Morro Bay was an affordable, quaint place to stay. We were able to walk to restaurants, the Rock and small shops from our hotel. It was ~10 mins from the park.
