We stayed for three nights on the Montana De Oro State Park campground (site 40). The campground is not very big and is fairly primitive (vault toilets only and no showers), but what you get is a very beautiful environment and a laid back atmosphere. Choose one of the sites on the outside of the last loop if you can... More

Beautiful shoreline views of crashing waves and pounding surf. Sea caves, stacks and arches. Drive to the end of the road, park and walk back along the Bluff Trail. There is a bathroom (pit) at the parking lot. Watch for rattlesnakes! Dogs are not allowed.

This place i love to go anytime i want to and the place i keep bragging and taking my friends and family whenever they come to visit. Some said its like Dublin (never been to Ireland). You can sit on the benches while watching the waves keep splashing the big rocks whenever its high tide. Or watch the sunset when... More

This campground has no running water, and the toilet facilities are pit/chemical style. That said, the toilets are well maintained, and not smelly. And the campground itself is well laid out, the spaces are large and the sites on the outside of the loops are really nice with trees and shrubs between them for privacy. It is a short walk... More

The views were better than we expected. We had ventured out just for a hike and found ourselves among a beautiful seascape among rolling hills. I can image how even better everything would look in the spring with the lush green and spring blossoms. We called earlier for the tide information and were able to enjoy a large tide pool... More

Going on a morning 2 1/2 mile hike on the "Bluff Trail." An easy stroll along a most beautiful panoramic view of the central coast. If in the area for a few more days; try the other trails at the Montaña de Oro State Park.

This is beautiful location and the campsites are very spacious & there are a bunch of hiking trails. Spooners Cove is a great beach and it is a easy walk from the campgrounds. The views and scenery are incredible.

We loved the family hike through here. We saw a whale, deer, and lots of birds. There were stairs to walk down to the water and the paths were clearly marked and a flat surface for adults or children to navigate easily.

Haven't visited in 30 plus years, it was as beautiful as I remember, walk to the cliffs and gaze at the wonderful Pacific Ocean , if you are adventurous hike down to the tide pools and search for some shells, you will meet very nice people from all over the world hiking the trails, be sure to bring a camera... Follow Bluffs Trail which leads along the cliffs along the coast. Find the stairs down to Coralina Cove to discover the magic of tide pools filled with little crabs, sea anemone, small fish and other wonders of the sea. Four adults and five teenagers were entertained for hours sceambling over rocks and trails -- a great way to work up... More
