Lovely setting in Los Gatos with many choices for restaurants and shops. Everyone at The Toll House is very friendly! It’s been years since traveling in this area and it felt like home. Lovely room with a great balcony!
Helpful staff, clean & nice rooms, great location, bikes available to ride around town, workout room, restaurant attached, just great! Town has many excellent restaurants (reco Tasting House) and shops that are walkable from the hotel.
We checked in on Friday night and checkin took an hour as the woman at the front desk said that the booking through booking.com didn't get put into the system. We were coming to get prepared for our wedding weekend and due to the wait and that we were about to get married they upgraded us - which was very nice. The water system was also playing up and sometimes there was hot water and sometimes not, and that was a little disappointing. Also, we got some uber eats and was hoping to use proper flatware, but, the front desk only gave us plastic flatware which is certainly not sustainable or eco friendly. Overall I would likely choose somewhere else to stay in Los Gatos next time.
We were disappointed with the room to discover a queen size bed when we booked a King room. When we contacted the front desk, the person said, yes we are in a King room. The Toll House Web site advertises all the King Rooms have King Size beds. Disappointed, we stayed the room anyway. Our stay was 4 nights. The cleanliness of the room was very good and so were the other room amenities. We chose Toll House for the location which gave excellent access to the Los Gatos restaurants and shops.
We've stayed at the Toll House many times over the years. It was obvious that things weren't the same during this visit. First of all, Room 346 was advertised as a King Room, only to contain a Queen bed. That was a little irritating to say the least. We could have moved, but I didn't feel like packing up and relocating. There is no longer a Bar or Restaurant. The $25 "Destination Fee" offers no amenities that aren't standard at any other hotel. After a little research, it was discovered the property was bought by an East Coast investment group in the Fall of 2019. The new ownership was obvious, as Toll House just didn't feel the same as past years.
We booked a room to spend time with family and friends in Los Gatos, so we were at the hotel only at night to sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size for all of our stuff. The $25 "resort fee" was a surprise since we didn't use any resort facilities and aside from a small gym, I am not sure what resort facilities were even available. There is no pool or spa on the property.
stayed before, won't stay again. the price for the value of staying here has declined. I stayed before. This was down hill. No room service, no restaurant, did not received requested wake up call. Mumbling person checked me in and had the personality of a chair
They have an additional "destination charge" of $25/night that was not in my reservation system pricing. Beware. Very deceptive. They are now charging for things that used to be free. Otherwise, it is in the center of Los Gatos. Very convenient.
