Lupin Lodge may offer the ultimate value in clothing-optional relaxation and nude recreation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Members escaping the pressure-cooker of nearby Silicon Valley swear that only a few hours spent au natural at Lupin provide the de-stressing equivalent of a seven-day cruise. Just imagine how relaxing an Eden-like vacation or holiday getaway might feel at one of California's most scenic naturist resorts.

Stayed 2 nights, awesome vibe. Everything was great. Stayed in a yurt, the really nice outdoor showers with the views of the trees. Sauna, hot tub. Biggest surprise? CHEF MICHELLE! 5 star food, she goes out of her way to serve a meal that wholesome, good for you, and very good flavors that are a real treat. A+, this restaurant is a sleeper! Thanks for the stay, had a great time :)

Having been on the road for two weeks and with another long week of travel ahead, I wanted some down time. Lupin Lodge seemed the perfect place. I took a yurt for two nights and was able to relax completely. The large complex sits on over 100 acres of hillside land above Los Gatos and enjoys a warm and dry microclimate. Once settled you will want for nothing. The restaurant features good food with chalk boarded specials for three meals and will gladly run a tab for the pocket-less. Beer, wine and many non-alcoholic selections are available to accompany your meal. Service is friendly in the restaurant, office and pool bar.
You can be active as you care to be. I enjoyed hiking the hillside trails which were moderately strenuous given the elevations but were well marked, shaded and provided great vistas of the surrounding wooded hills. One trail meant to be a fire exit leads to the road outside Lupin along a nearby reservoir. I found myself hiking here much to the surprise of a few passing cars, bikers and runners. These tolerant locals seemed to pay no mind to my wanderings and I was able to make my way back on property without incident.
Everyone I met at Lupin was friendly and willing to engage a gabby single. One evening I joined a few sports fans in the TV room off the restaurant to watch playoff games. It felt like my own den at home.
The yurt was spacious and pretty clean for what is essentially a canvas tent. The office provides a tool to open the top for ventilation but once the sun goes down things cool right off. Indeed, you’ll be glad for the extra blanket. Several yurts align together so be mindful of talking too loud as they are not soundproofed.
Lupin follows the code of conduct familiar to all first-rate nudist communities so you can relax and enjoy your visit without fear of improper behavior. Whether singles, couples or families, you will find Lupin Lodge a wonderful experience to be enjoyed again and again. I know I’ll be back.

Naturists who live without pretense in true freedom to be honestly human (warts and all) in this natural environment are the most tollerant, open, real people I've ever known. The kaliedoscope of shapes ages and backgrounds as we chose to disclose and engage with strangers, or not to share anything we did not want to was a true releif from the concrete jungle/rat-race we escaped from.

When I first joined it was a nice place, the people were nice and the restaurant and dances were good and fun. However, I investigated some of there broken promises and lies and acted on them and I my membership was cancelled by the idiot that almost stole the place from the Stouts and Lori Kay. I joined Laguna del sol and spent man years there and many other Lupin Members also followed me. From illegal aluminum wiring in there building, fires, thieves hiding there, water theft by the resort its not a place to go. It is so run down and filthy and it sad to see that in all these years they just cant seem to clean it up. its funny to see that the most recent reviews are more than 5 years old with the exception of one. Stay away at all cost, drive a little further to the beach or visit Laguna Del Sol.

The staff member at the gatehouse was impatient and apparently did not like her job or people. She was strident, rude and unwelcoming with a huge chip on her shoulder of controlling attitude and language use. The community kitchen had unwashed dishes, grimy dirty surfaces, and rotting garbage, several days old. The refrigerator was clean and tidy. The worst part was the only hot tub in the place has failing fiberglass throughout, causing major rash and broken skin all over buttocks and thighs. This only heated tub had room for about 4 people and the residents did not follow the posted rules of showering before entering the hot tub. They claimed it was due to the cold showers, which they turned on three at a time to elicit warm water, which did not come. They actually asked me to complain, saying their input was inconsequential. The small sauna had drying boots, hand-washed socks and underwear and was not inviting. Some essential oil might have been nice to overcome the odor. There was cigarette smoking in the bathrooms and cigarette butts flicked on the poolside area. This did not endear me or set any vacation mood for a romantic weekend. The marvelous natural outdoor beauty was augmented by overall kindness of 99% of the residents, staff and visitors. One could easily hear discussions of interpersonal stress and challenges in terms of maintenance, disagreements and responsibilities. This is a big drawback for the high price paying occasional visitor seeking an escape from the same at home.

The Lupin Lodge was By Far the BEST experience my husband and I have ever had together. The people there were helpful and very compassionate. The food was great and the atmosphere was to die for. Even the animals came out periodically to join us and share in our company. We have never felt so compelled to go back to anything like this until we visited this fine establishment. The staff was professional and very friendly. Everyone there really went out of their way to help us feel at home with ourselves and in nature. We both feel like years of stress has washed away from us and we have everyone that resides and who is employed at the Lupin Lodge for their gratitude. This was a life changing experience for my husband and I and we will be frequenting this place as often as possible. Conveniently located right off of highway 17 this is the Perfect Couples Get Away. Note~ NOT for pervs. So Please Do Not Be those kind of people. This is a naturalist environment so Have Some Cooth and Respect! We Love You Lupin!!!!! Joe and Gina Janisse~

I have stayed here twice when business has brought me to the bay area. The people are so friendly, the Woodland setting so tranquil. It's true that some of the abandoned buildings on site are derelict but they keep the active buildings in good repair, the pool very clean and the hot tub and sauna very hot. The hiking trails are short but very picturesque especially the overlook from the top of the trail. I loved my stay in a cosy yurt and the sight of the trees swaying in the breeze during yoga. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I visited Lupin Lodge on Saturday, 2019-04-06, as I have done frequently for over 40 years. This time I participated in a naked yoga class, hiked the Nature Trail with a group of friends, had lunch in the Clubhouse Restaurant, and soaked in the hot tub. Contrasted to other more "upscale" resorts, Lupin offers the most friendly, welcoming, accepting atmosphere where everyone can drop their pretenses and just be human.

Spouse and I scheduled a day visit as part of a California stop from the Midwest for a long weekend. Gorgeous wilderness setting but rustic to the point of neglected. Examples: The restaurant is near the roadway entrance but good luck on finding the entrance to the restaurant itself. . Dumpsters near a rear door and deck -- that looked like it might be the entrance. But no signage "enter here" or similar. We finally figured it out, went in and ordered burgers that were delicious but spoiled by flies --- many flies -- in our dining area. Rustic setting, true. But might flies be mitigated by modern apparati or just a double door setup that might stop the intruders at the threshold. The pool area was passable but the decking and such clearly in need of serious overhaul. Our general sense is that this hideaway is either poorly managed or being operated for maximum profit with minimal spending for overall upkeep. Though an entirely different clientele and higher cost, would recommend Mira Vista near Tucson as the ultimate sunny setting escape of this kind. Don't mean to be negative, but Lupin needs a wakeup call.

My husband and I stayed at Lupin May 5-7. We may have been the first of the “summer” visitors. The place was SO quiet it was hard to believe anyone was there. But they were—just very respectful. The staff was extremely helpful. The linens were new, The cabin was “rustic” and in need of some spring cleaning. We were able to bring and cook our own food. The grounds were beautiful. The pool and hot tub were warm. The location is a short but windy road between Los Gatos (great places to eat and shop) to Santa Cruz beach and boardwalk.
