Dream Hollywood hotel offers a central location praised by guests for its proximity to Hollywood's key attractions, though some have safety concerns. The vibrant nightlife and rooftop amenities attract positive attention, but limited pool access and unexpected fees draw criticism.
Reviews of the service and rooms vary, with commendable cleanliness but noise complaints are frequent, particularly from street sounds and the lively atmosphere of on-site nightclubs. Despite some modern and stylish rooms, the value proposition is questioned due to high undisclosed fees and overpriced services.

We arrived for a family night away which included 5 kids . Our room suite connected to a second room , and had mini donuts , apple cider, champagne and fruit when we arrived . The front desk was so kind , and friendly , not hurried and distracted . We got sort of confused by the front elevator not going to the rooftop but when we did walk around to the back elevator , we arrived on the rooftop which had beautiful panoramic views of the Hollywood hills and Hollywood sign! we had lunch and sat by the poolside . Our food was delicious and simple , definitely get the jalapeño and lime mocktail ! So delicious .
My only downside feedback is the room service options were limited and expensive, Plus you couldn’t order it to charge to the room or Even order it from the tablet . We ended up just ordering pizza because kids don’t eat Chinese food , and no one contacted us that our food was here , and the pizza ended up being cold . All was well because we requested the microwave
Also reaching the front desk was difficult because when you press 0, the call goes to central reservations who had no idea how to help with in room dining . You have to press front desk button in order to get them which I didn’t realize . Why can’t central just transfer me !! i had to get up and walk over to the phone base and look through all the buttons .
Anyway I would definitely recommend this hotel , the room was stocked with so many treats , my kids enjoyed the robot who delivered water bottles , toothbrush, extra blankets and towels to our room . We even requested a microwave and tea kettle which was delivered promptly . I’m so grateful for the valet parking as the streets are usually very busy , so this was convenient .
We took a short drive over to the world of illusions museum which is next to several other fun museums , so this hotel is in a great location to go and enjoy other fun places .
Thank you dream !!

The overall impression - modern and stylish. The rooms are very small but nice. We liked the pool on the rooftop, more to get wet not to swim since it was very small. We like the possibility to order complimentary supplies (on a tablet located on the bedside) like toothbrush and a kettle. The items arrived very quickly. We had a problem with flashing sensor light which was disturbing our sleep for 2 nights before it was finally deactivated. We were a bit disappointed about that. The valet parking was expensive (but we knew it, did not explore other options for parking nearby)

Was in LA for the first time and spent 6 nights at the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay very much. My bronze room was quite big for a city hotel, very modern, with a big shower with Karl Lagerfeld shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. The highlight is their 10th floor with the rooftop pool and restaurant. I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there several times. The food is very good although a bit pricey. And the views are fantastic, especially for sunset or at night. The staff at the hotel is also very friendly.
If only the surroundings of the hotel would be as great as the hotel itself. The area feels honestly a bit seedy (don’t go to Hollywood Boulevard and its Walk of Fame, it stinks of urine…) and I haven’t found another nice restaurant in the surroundings. But just around the corner is a very nice cosy club called “The Hotel Café” with live music every night, two stages and every Tuesday they have their Open Folk Night with 8 different artists, a great way to discover new music.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at hands down. I am a frequent traveler and am absolutely appalled by the service and standards of this hotel considering the price I paid. -was issued an incorrect room on check in. I booked two double beds and this was clearly stated on my booking, on arrival the room was not ready so was asked to come back in a few hours. When we arrived late in the evening after filling the time with some local tours we were given the wrong room and only had one bed which was not enough for the three of us obviously. We were bullied into paying an additional $500 dollars by the manager to get an upgraded room despite us already booking a room 9 months ago that was big enough for all of us. -when we did finally get into the room after being bullied out of our money the room was filthy, carpet and hard wood flooring had gum, hair in the bathroom and unclean sink area. Room and wardrobe was also very worn, in need of an update which shouldn’t take a lot of time or money considering the prices this hotel is charging. -we ordered $100 worth of room service that did not arrive for over two hours. The order was placed at 9pm and arrived at midnight stone cold. I called after 35 minutes again after an hour and then 2hours. Each occasion (when I could get through to front desk) the staff were very rude and unhelpful telling us to walk over to the restaurant ourselves and find where the food is which defeats the whole purpose of ‘room service’. Still chasing a refund for this. -as many of these other reviews mentions there is regular parties on the rooftop of the hotel. The music is VERY loud and sends sound and vibrates through the windows to the point it sounds like you are the next room from the event. Something to be kept in mind if this is not want you’re looking for. -the location is not great, we did not feel safe venturing out after dark as the hotel is surrounded by urine smelling streets and drug addicts within yards of the front entrance of the hotel. I know this is not something the hotel can change but again something to consider for those this does not appeal to. Honestly save your coin and stay in a hotel away from this neighbourhood with cleaner rooms, nicer staff and better value for money. Such a shame as this hotel could be great but is being let down by the staff massively. Will be contacting my travel agents for reimbursement which I’m sure this will be a challenge as the hotel does not show any remorse or responsibility for their poor service.

I am truly sorry to hear about your experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I’ve reviewed your reservation and see that it was booked as a king room. We accommodated your request for double beds, which incurs an additional fee. I regret that our service did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding room cleanliness and the delays with room service. Your concerns about noise and the neighborhood are valid, and I apologize for any discomfort you felt during your stay. Please know that your feedback is invaluable, and I will address these issues with our team. If you’d like to discuss this further, feel free to reach out directly.

How do I describe my experience without being too blunt. Hide your belongings as they might go missing. They will clean your room even if you have items on your bed so take all your valuables with you when you leave the room!!! If you have food allergies know they might try to charge you more as the menu is the menu. Staff will be too busy putting on sunscreen instead of helping the guest to their tables; so help yourself. Also be prepared to wait, no one is in any rush! The moment you check in be prepared for guest to be upset about their bill. Honestly I would never recommend this place, and as a ‘guest of honor’ I’d expect so much more from a Hyatt. The ‘suite’ I was awarded was not a suite, the balcony you couldn’t even sit on, and every-time I walked around the room I would bang my toe on something from it being so small. Meanwhile the other rooms surrounding were all larger; however being told I was in the ‘best’ room. False, I wouldn’t even recommend coming back to Hollywood after this experience. If you have a better experience than me, I will be hoping for, bring change as that’s the only way to tip without that also being shut down.

This is my critical and honest assessment of my stay at The Dream Hollywood, which was anything but their "living the dream" slogan. Starting with the rooms themselves, the accommodations were modest, the furniture was dated and our room had little to no privacy between the bathroom and bedroom areas. The vanity lighting was abysmal and insufficient. Breakfast was not included with our room rate/"resort fee"/California visit tax (yeah, that was a thing), but we did receive complimentary self serve tea and coffee between the hours of 7-9AM in the main lobby. The best and most useful amenity we took full advantage of was the complimentary car service. It's worth noting this is a drop off service ONLY and return pickups are not included. Continuing with the facilities, one of the main features that informed our decision to stay at The Dream Hollywood, was the impression that there were two separate pools on the premises. This was implied by the photos on their website, as well as during a call made to reservation services. When we arrived however, we learned there was only one pool and it was a shared public space between hotel guests and visitors of the Highlight Room restaurant, which frequently held private events in the space. While this in itself was a disappointment, you could imagine our dismay when we discovered the pool was more of a pond with a depth of only 3 ft. designed for socializing rather than recreational swimming. And while the pool manager and staff were pleasant and attentive, the opposite can be said of the staff of The Highlight Room, who were dismissive, uninformed, and to put it bluntly, seems to care less about providing reasonable customer service unless you were a celebrity or frequent patron with whom they were on a first name basis - then they couldn't move fast enough. To witness this firsthand was laughable to me, but the differential treatment was upsetting to my spouse. The pool manager Karl noticed and offered us complimentary tickets to the evening pool party, but we chose not to return that day. Later in the week we had issues with the plumbing/cleaning service in our room and were upgraded as a result. From that point on the Dream staff (who were truly a Dream Team) worked tirelessly to make the remainder of our stay as enjoyable as possible. These rockstars include Rafael in engineering, Joseph, Keela, Malou, Keni, and Emmanuel in guest relations. If not for their effort we probably wouldn't consider a return stay here.

The rooms have no irons or ironing boards. They only have steamers which don't normally knock all the wrinkles out especially when clothes have been in suitcases. Shower floor was dirty and the clothes closet glass was broken and one of the doors didn't work to the closet. The sheet was too big for the bed and had red droppings on the sheet. I rented 5 hotel rooms for 2-3 nights each and rooms not ready until after 5 and 6pm. We did get 2 of the rooms about and hour early but there were 13 in my party and we had plans so this was very inconvenient. For the room that we didn't get in until 6pm i asked for some money off the bill because of the inconvenience and was told NO by 3 managers but offered a $70 breakfast credit after I specifically told them I didn't want breakfast and felt the room cost should've been reduced. Lastly my vehicle was too large for valet so we parked vehicle out in front of hotel so we could find parking after our event only to return to a missing vehicle, yep we were towed and the hotel took photos of it being towed as if it was funny. Lastly once the weekend arrives there is no rest at this hotel. The loudness in the streets can be heard throughout the room and I was not able to toon out the noise. There are nightclubs on each side of the hotel and a rooftop club that is very loud as well. Overall I would never stay at this hotel again. We are all waiting on our final bills to make sure the charges were correct.

We enjoyed our time at Dream Hollywood. The location and staff were excellent and the room was modern and clean. A special shout out goes to the manager who assisted us with storing luggage and showering before a midnight flight. For people travelling with children, it's worth noting that this is a party hotel. Whilst there was no noise in our room, the pool was closed both afternoons for an adults only pool party resulting in quite a few intoxicated people moving through the building. As the weather was hot, it was disappointing to learn that we couldn't use the pool during these times, but we managed to adjust our plans and make it work. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return if find ourselves back in that area.

I travel a lot for work and have stayed in many hotels throughout my career, I can say that Mo, Emanuel and the rest of the management staff are top-tier and some of the best in the business. After checking in they provided a complimentary upgrade to a corner suite over-looking LA. They arranged for special amenities (an extra bed for friends who came to visit) as well as a beautiful welcome dessert that was prepared by a restaurant down the street).
The gym is well-stocked with energy drinks, a range of dumbbells, kettlebells rowers, pull up machines, treadmills and stair master. I used the gym every day while I was there and it was never crowded.
The complimentary coffeeshop in the lobby serves La Colombe every morning and has a selection of delicious pastries for purchase. Lobby was clean, cool and a vibe. Every door man and bellhop was professional and very welcoming.
Decor of the room was modern, featuring a beautiful record player that made the stay feel more like home. Shower had ood pressure and the double sink setup was spacious with plenty of natural light in the bathroom.
Beyond the professional staff, cleaning and dining recommendations they went above and beyond to help me with an emergency I had after I checked out. Upon arriving to LAX, I realized I had left my garment bag in the closet that had two custom suits I needed for an event in NYC the following night. Emanuel retrieved my suits, safely handed it to a courier and who then dropped it off at LAX in time for me to make my flight. THIS is unparalleled customer service and the defintion of going above and beyond to help a client. Grateful for the hospitiality, premium stay and amazing views curated by the team at Dream Hollywood. Looking forward to booking with them again for my next stay.

We recently stayed at Dream Hotel Hollywood and were quite disappointed. The hotel is definitely overrated, with none of the promised glamour or luxury. One major letdown was the $42 extra facility fee, which supposedly includes a glass of champagne at check-in – but that didn’t happen.
Our room didn’t have the tablet to control temperature and other amenities, which we were expecting based on the hotel's description.
The rooftop pool and bar were also overrated. Drinks are priced at $23, which feels excessive for what you get.
On the bright side, the location is excellent if you’re looking to explore Hollywood Blvd or enjoy the nightlife. Rooms are big and clean. However, if your goal is to get a good night’s sleep, this might not be the place – the noise made it hard to relax.
Overall, we expected much more from this hotel considering the price and its reputation.

I stayed there in August 2023 and looking at my bill, there isn't a resort fee on my bill. There is an occupancy tax of 16% and a California Assessment Tax of .20%, but no other charges. Hyatt is going to be changing their system to show all resort fees and charges when booking soon (similar to Marriott), so you can book now and check again before your stay dates and see if there are any additional fees. I was charged $60 for valet parking and there aren't really any other places to park nearby, so if you have a car, valet is really the only way to go. That's the way it is at most of the hotels in that area that I've stayed at recently. It does take 20 minutes or so to get your car and if the nightclub on the roof is open and hopping, dropping off your car is a bit of a zoo, but we managed it. The "incidental card holds" I've experienced in the past isn't per night, but it doesn't really hit your credit card and I'm not really sure how they do it, but it assures them that you will be able to pay your bill when it comes through. I've seen the "holds" before, but never really gave them any thought as I always had room on my card. Be sure to use a credit card and not a debit card as on a debit card, the funds are frozen until the hold is lifted when you check out.
