Very beautiful 4-star hotel, rooms are gorgeous and very well appointed. There's a lot to like about the hotel, but a few negatives as well. (1) it's expensive, (2) the elevator system is bizarrely designed, (3) the neighborhood is a little sketchy, and (4) it's a fairly long walk to/from the convention center or crypto.com center. The Spire bar at the top is really cool, but super expensive ($22/drink) - the lobby is on the 70th floor and you either have to go up first and then down to your room floor, or know the secret to floor 31 - there is a lot of homeless and open drug use on the streets around the hotel - and if you're going to/from the convention center it's almost a mile long walk. But it's really pretty and the rooms are really nice. Pluses and minuses.....

Hotel's Favorite
When I made the reservation, I did not know that I will experience the best sunset and sunrise views in the same room, or that going to the gym will feel like visiting a nightclub (I will explain that later!) My Executive suite (#5819) was a corner unit on the 58th floor that boasted unobstructed horizon views in three directions, including the view of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Mountains. The suite was roomy, bright and full of light due to floor-to-ceiling windows. I never closed the curtains because I wanted to continually explore the scenery and point out my favorite LA landmarks, helicopter landings and roof-top swimming pools. The valet service was very efficient. The check-in on the 70th floor was a breeze. The sleek lobby felt upscale with some extravagant interior decor pieces, including leather chairs and bar stools that stood out against the cocktail lounge’s Italian marble. They provided both comfort and style to the space.  My suite was impeccably clean and quiet. The king size bed was very comfortable and the concierge service was swift and contactless (I needed a lot of extra Nespresso capsules to stay awake to enjoy all the hotel amenities.) The Attitude fitness center was open 24 hours, and although I am not a gym goer, I went to the fitness center twice and I told myself that I would join the gym immediately if all gyms looked like this one. The lighting was spectacular giving out the trendy night-club vibes and I had a unique experience rather than a mundane workout.  In the morning, I decided to check out the pool deck on the 7th floor.  The water was nice and warm and I enjoyed swimming in it. I spent my day relaxing while enjoying urban rooftop views, and I felt all the worries and stress dissipate. Who knew I would be sunbathing in December. And, of course, I didn’t want to leave.

This hotel is beautiful and modern! The hotel room is well kept and cozy. The roof top restaurant Spire 73 is a wonderful experience. It was a great experience for anniversary and romantic date. I am satisfied with the experience. The location is convenient in DTLA.

This is our go to place downtown. Great fitness center, easy to use the valet, and many food options. Daniel the bartender / barista in Dekkadance made it all the better. Friendly and helpful when I needed to find an early morning place to work and have a coffee. The fact that it was by a window on the 68th floor with a stunning view helped but his hospitality was the highlight !

Giant modern hotel in downtown LA with great views, restaurants and rooms. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The roof top bar is one of the highest in the world and as good as advertised. However One major flaw. The lobby is on the 70th floor and you must take an elevator to the lobby to go to any other area of the hotel. Extremely inconvenient. Our Room was on the 36th floor so that meant we had to go up 70 floors and down 34 more floors just to get to our room. Want to go the gym on the 7th floor that’s up 34 floors down 63 floors. You get the picture. Not sure why the elevators were designed this way as it is a relatively new building. But it was more than just a minor inconvenience. It was very annoying and I would find it hard to stay at this hotel again unless this issue was fixed.

Fantastic hotel and helpful friendly staff. Lifts take a bit of getting used to (Up to go down) but the view from the 70th floor is amazing. We visited with our 14 year old son. Large, clean tidy rooms. But…..(not the hotels fault) the surrounding area leaves a lot to be desired. LA like other cities has a massive homeless problem. Very prevalent here (my first experience of crack pipe use on the street, also smell of urine from subway was……..interesting)Wouldn’t stop me from returning but authorities need to get a hold of it and all should be aware

Room Tip: Nowhere really local if you want to eat out breakfast. IHOP looked very dirty and dated.

We were booked into this hotel as part of a package. As the reception desk is on floor 70, I probably wouldn't have picked it myself as I'm not the biggest fan of heights. Our room was on the 50th floor, meaning you had to go to 70 and change lifts. That worked OK and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Convenient location.

Stayed here with a friend. She was here on business but it was a pleasure trip for me. Being downtown, the location was the perfect starting point for sightseeing. Valet was caring and considerate; they waited for us to unload and everything. S/o to Jalen (spelling); tall bald black man; super kind! There is a shopping area across the street which was convenient. The lobbies were really nice. They use a two elevator system and the main check in point is on the 70th floor. Views from the hotel were stunning. Being that high up you can see all the way to the mountains. The room itself was large, love the bathroom shower! The room was high tech, especially with the room key being attached to the a/c; that was different. The only thing I didn't like were the barn doors in the bathroom. It wasn't a big deal though. Housekeeping was ninja like because I literally never saw them but our room was always cleaned and reset.

Hi Niles I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the excellent service and care I received at your hotel from 7/21-7/24 to celebrate a special occasion. I wanted to specially commend your front desk staff Lindsey for giving us such an unforgettable experience. She was not only attentive to our needs but went above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome and taken care of. I am grateful to have the opportunity to stay in many different properties around the world and it’s often not the physical attributes of the property that makes it great but the people that truly makes the difference. Thank you and your staff for doing that! Be back soon, Linus

I felt even while I am IHG member that this hotel is below average. The staff friendly, but the hotel is very confusing having the reception in 70th floor with different elevators servicing specific floors. Mini fridge inside the room was locked so couldn’t use it while I have kids with me. Housekeeper left 1 cleaning towel in our room. I needed to call to bring water for us every day as we’re not enough for 4 persons. The area is very crowded and I didn’t like downtown.
