Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

We wanted a hotel that was walking distance to the Staples Center as we were in town for a Clippers-Lakers game. For that reason alone, Hotel Indigo was the choice (as the Ritz is beyond our budget). So I give the place an A for location. But as far the rest of the aspects we

I like Indigo because the place is really close to anywhere, at least the DT area. Walking distance to many places. But Loews Hollywood also has some different atmosphere. It really depends on what you want to do.

Hard to say without knowing which attractions you are interested in. This hotel is considered part of DTLA (Downtown L.A.) so it’s close to L.A. Live Grammy Museum, and DTLA restaurants and bars. But if you are walking (and not driving) it’s a little farther from Union Station and some of the museums (if that’s what you are interested in).
