This cute hotel is 7 blocks from the Venice Beach Pier. The beach is busy : lots of action from the un housed to the flamboyant rollerbladers. But 7 blocks away at the Kinney you’ll find a relaxed ambiance worlds away from the congestion of the beach scene. My room was spacious, clean and quiet. The bathroom was well equipped, the bed/ bedding deluxe and the blackout shades top performers. I brought my own bike, the Kinney does charge for use of theirs, and had a fabulous ride on the bike trail that goes from Will Rogers to Torrance. I highly recommend dining at NUEVO. Innovative menu and affordable. I also had a satisfying meal at Wonky Wok. I found street parking, Kinney does charge for parking, really close by- safe neighborhood. The staff were welcoming and courteous. I really loved my stay- I could live at the Kinney!…
Great little hotel to stay while visiting Venice Beach. Location is good, it is a 15 min walk ( or a bit more)to the beach or Abbot Kinney area, you could always take a under $10 uber. The room and hotel is fun, the bed super confy and although we were looking at court yard, we did not experience much noise ( it was a week day). The suites are great, not huge but nice to have an extra space. The sofa bed in LR is not comfortable because it is your typical pull out couch...
I loved everything in that hotel! Interior - top tier, a lot of space in the room, nice mirrors to take pics! Also, this hotel has a pool, jacuzzi (nice hot water), hammocks, and chill area, which wasn’t crowded! It felt very safe, because security guard been around.
We spent the last three days on the west coast. The hotel is very nicely decorated, but you can see that it has been refurbished. Very attentive and proactive staff, you have to ask for your room to be made, but it seems to be a standard as it wasn't the first time it happened to us. Parking next to it with direct access and $20 a night. For us, this was a good goodbye to the United States.
Good situation . Small but appreciable pool. Rooms are sufficiently large and confortable. Only the climatisation is a little old and noisy and must be stopped during night but not a big issue as nights are fresh enough . Overall good experience for the price I recommend.
Stayed for two nights and enjoyed it. Good location, walkable to Abbot Kinney shops. Easily found street parking while there, so didn’t need to use their garage (very reasonable daily rate). Sadly, didn’t have time to enjoy the very small dipping pool or outdoor lounge area and ping pong tables. Room was quiet, clean, and well appointed. Staff very nice.
Stayed in room 315 for 4 nights while in LA visiting family. The room was large with a sitting area, separate bedroom and large closet for longer stays. We were able to pre-pay for parking, which is $20 a day/night. Parking was easy, but lot fills at night. If you come back to the hotel later in the evening, it was harder to park. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach. There were plenty of cool shops and restaurants nearby to either bike, walk or drive to. The hotel does have bikes you can rent for $25 a day. There was a nice inner courtyard with a pool, although we did not have time to use it during our stay. My biggest complaint was the overall cleanliness, we found crushed and some whole cashew nuts all around the floor of our room as well as fingernail clippings on the bathroom counter, side table and soap dish. That grossed us out a little. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. …
This was a great experience. The hotel is kind of funky, the stuff is incredible, and we had a great time. They rent bikes at a very low rate which we took advantage of this numerous times to ride to Venice Beach and other beaches. They have an amazing staff of Edwin, Eduardo, and Eddie, all of whom I share a common name with me which made it that much more fun. I would strongly recommend this hotel for both its location and amenities. Walking out the door can be a bit sketchy but don’t let that scare you away as you are within minutes of everything you want and need in the area. Thank you for a great experience Kinney Hotel team
Nice hotel at a good location. Possible to park the car in the same building. Very helpful personal. Small nice pool and possibilty to play table tennis outside. We rented bikes and explored the surroundings around Santa Monica pier. Would consider staying here again.
We stayed 4 nights and were very happy with our stay. - 20 walk straight walk down Washington Blvd to the beach. We walked that a couple of late nights and felt safe - comfy bed and soft linens - extra roomy floor space with the sitting area and couch - appears to have had a recent update throughout -$20 a night for parking was worth it for ease of parking with lots of room
