Stayed here at the beginning of July and thought the hotel and staff were excellent. It is an old building with its quirks which we knew beforehand. The hotel was clean and tidy and located right on the boardwalk. The staff can't be held responsible...More
I am a travel agent and I am very open to trying new places but when I walked into my room which was situated at the rear of the hotel overlooking the back alley, I was instantly filled with a feeling of regret. The room...More

Running 100 year old boutique hotel at the heart of eclectic/bohemia Venice Beach, CA can be a real Challenge. One our biggest challenges is clearly showing what the hotel and Venice Beach are all about. on our web site or thru on line travel agents....More
Went to California on vacation first San Diego that was wonderful. Then we planed a night on Venice Beach.. Omg it was not what we expected homeless people everywhere and people smoking weed and trying to sell us some.. We did not feel safe there.....More
One of my most favorite hotels - exposed brick and a certain rustic charm. Absolutely perfect location, nothing to be said there. The staff is also lovely - attentive yet not intrusive and very, very friendly. I absolutely adore this place.
staff was really nice. The room charge was 187.00 a night. We got room 107 (Ground floor) at the very end of the hallway. Right across from us was 108 and they had people coming in and out of there like they were making drug...More

Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it
happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
We were not given a WiFi password and to be honest there is so much to see and do we didn't have the time or energy to log on. There is a restaurant 2 doors down that has WiFi and really good breakfast. Check out the rooftop... More

I'm sorry to say that we are sold out of our Ocean Front and Partial View rooms. We do have two Queen Studios left and while they don't offer a view, we are truly a beach-front hotel so you can walk out our front door and be on the Boardwalk and at the beach!
Let me know if you have any other questions! We'd be happy to host your stay!
All the best,

Great question! The rooms in our historic hotel are not air-conditioned and it's typically not needed in our mild beach climate. All of our room do have ceiling fans and screened windows so you can let the ocean breeze in!
