I'm disappointed for the price I paid for staying in this hotel ($1000 CAD for 2 nights after taxes). This hotel is dated and not maintained. The lobby lights were flashing during our check-in , and have not replaced the bulb over 24 hours. The free cookies during check-in do not impress me at all. I ordered the Marina View room. But my room just located at the corner of the "pier", And I do feel awkward to walk outside to the shared balcony even with the gate. The carpet, and wallpaper are old. As well as the lighting fixtures. The A/C has some water mark signs on the wallpaper. Last, but not least, their washroom door cannot be closed, or lock, and one bulb at washroom was also out. during the check-out, I complaint to the receptionist about the door cannot be closed. No apologies at all. And seem like they knew this problem for some time, and not surprised with my complaint. One more thing regarding to the parking. I can only see there is a sign for self-parking but need to pay. However, receptionist did not mentioned at all until I asked (I looked at reviews somewhere, and know there is parking fee). I saw lots of cars get tire locked to their car. I believe this is one way this hotel trying to earn more money.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. I am sorry that we did not get a chance to speak or resolve your issues with your room upon arrival. We always encourage our guests to reach out as soon as they encounter anything that might hinder an exceptional experience with us. I apologize that you did not like the balcony upgrade. Normally our guests are pleased with being able to step out and experience the sounds and views of the marina. We would have been more than happy to move you to another room type upon arrival if we had the opportunity. I will certainly review this with our team for training purposes. Regarding the parking. We absolutely do not lock the tires of our guests. We have some long term guests that have chosen to place these on their vehicles while they leave their vehicles with us. I would love to speak to you more about your stay and offer some options for you upon your next visit with us. Please feel free to reach out to me so I can ensure your stay is seamless! Thank you again for taking the time to share.

We stayed here before in non COVID times. I love the location and the marina. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to COVID. however, there were no breakfast options at the hotel even packaged muffins. The front staff were wonderful. they helped with a printing and FAXing project I had to do. The room was clean and comfortable. I will stay again and hope that in NONCOVID times it is GREAT again.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback, Ferome. I am so sorry to hear that you experienced some delay in checking in. I see that there was a specific request to have certain rooms near each other. Otherwise we could have gotten you in much earlier. I hope that our team gave you options here and I will revisit this training with them. I can assure you that our food is cooked fresh. We definitely do not microwave our food. I will make sure to do some quality assurance here with our culinary team in the meantime however. Again, my sincere apologies for your frustrations. I hope that we may have another opportunity to show you our true level of service in the future. Please feel free to reach out to me and I will ensure your stay is seamless.

My husband and I stayed here the night before a cruise. We had stayed at the Newcastle Airport DoubleTree the night before as we usually do before a trip and it was excellent. My husband has Gold status with Hilton Honors and this was fully recognised with bottled water, robes, slippers, free bar drinks and breakfast and a lovely room with great amenities for £80.75 for the night for two. In November we stayed at the Rome DoubleTree - again excellent. San Pedro DoubleTree in comparison was truly awful. The front desk staff were unwelcoming, rude and seemed not to want to be there. There were no warm, welcoming cookies available - they had "run out and were heating some more". In the room there were no bottled water, teabags or stirrers (we had to ask at the desk for this). The bathroom amenities were sparse to say the least. There was absolutely no recognition of my husband's status. The best things about the room were the flat screen TV and the view of the marina. We arrived late evening and the bar closed at 10 pm. The next morning we went down for al a carte breakfast which we had paid for in advance and had been provided with vouchers for. The queue was long but eventually we were seated but had to wait 15 minutes before our order was taken. We waited for nearly 45 minutes for our order to arrive. My breakfast was incorrect - firstly the wrong one was brought, then my order had scrambled eggs instead of fried. Both our breakfasts were cold. The waitress did bring a plate of fried eggs but it was too little too late. All this for the princely sum of US$392.16!! How on earth can this exorbitant price be justified? For this price, we expected the hotel to be at least the standard we expect from DoubleTree. This DoubleTree does not deserve the Hilton name in any shape or form. It truly lets down the DoubleTree brand and needs bringing to the attention of the Hilton Group. We never did get our cookies.

I am so sorry to hear that we fell short of your expectations. I will make sure to revisit our cookie ordering process to ensure there are no guests left without cookies! This is extremely important for our hotel and being a DoubleTree. I will make sure that we are covering some additional Honors training as well because as a Gold Member you do have a choice of points or Food and Beverage credit. Our team is normally well versed in covering this option with our Gold Members. Again, I am so sorry that your experience was subpar. Please contact me if you would like to discuss further. I would love to have another opportunity to show you our true level of service in the future.

This hotel was awful. The ladies at the front desk didn’t even look at us when we walked in. We did online check-in but not even a hello. The room was awful with a ripped curtain and trashed fridge. Towels were awful and bath amenities were sparse. They literally emailed us with, “warm cookies waiting for you,” and then begrudgingly went and got one from the back when we asked. So bad!

Checked in and they state our room is not ready, but they complete all check in processes including charging our card. They tell us to come back in 30 minutes. We come back and they completely restart the check in process and guarantee us that this process is normal. Get our room and look at our credit card statement and we end up double charged for our room. The lady at the front desk was rude and stand off-ish, basically blaming us for their error. They don’t reverse any charges, only state that they are ‘looking into it’. The incompetence makes me feel like I’m staying at a motel 6. Do better Doubletree.

This is a well located property the management of which is clearly trying to squeeze out as much net income possible as. The soap in the bathrooms is cheesy, the lighting in the bathroom is awful, the parking scheme is inconvenient (booting cars in the lot isn't exactly hospitable) and the restaurant is understaffed. The Wi-Fi is slow and balky. There were even only three or four hangers in the huge closet. What is it about hospitality that this manager doesn't understand?

Thank you for sharing your feedback Andrew. I apologize that we fell short of your expectations. We have been dealing with some supply chain issues and sometimes have to use alternative soaps while we wait for the official Brand standard. We will certainly work on proactively ordering to avoid this. The boots on certain cars are not placed by us. I would like to make sure to point that out as it could be misleading for someone else reading your review. I apologize for the lighting, wifi, and hangers. We will review this as a team so we can improve our service. In the meantime, please make sure to reach out to one of our helpful guest service agents at our property or any other Hilton, we will make sure to make it right for you by sending an engineer or coordinating a room change. Thank you again for sharing. We look forward to having another opportunity to show your our true level of service in the future.

Check in at this hotel was very busy as it was a Friday night with 2 ships leaving San Pedro harbor the next day. Michelle made us feel welcome, check in was smooth and the room clean and comfortable. Our shuttle drivers were professional and on time and the included breakfast was off the menu and delicious.

Location, weather and the Doubletree San Pedro. This was our 10th stay (might be more) here and my wife and I have always enjoyed our time here. The hotel is nestled is a quiet corner, close to the beach within walking distance to several local parks and restaurants. We will be back, again and again.
