Upon checking in I was given the “empress suite” it was freezing. Two or three different air conditioning units all outdated hard to use remotes. Light out in bathroom. Insufficient towels and pool towels given. A filthy remote that clearly wasn’t disinfected prior to my arrival. Drawers on armoire swing open solo. Noisy street! Sofa bed has no cushion! Ice machine out of order on 4th floor and no vending machine. Bag breakfast with cold pastry and green apple. Unsafe parking garage with a safety cage over electric components! Backed into and shattered my back window! No help from management. Horrible terrible experience. Stay at another hotel. Waste of money!
The decor was pretty dated and the properly was not in great shape. The staff did their best to be friendly and the rooms were big. It was close to the Catalina Express so the 5 minute drive for our trip to Catalina Island was great. Parking was free also, so that was a plus.
This hotel seemed dated, but is very clean. We stayed only over night prior to getting on a boat the next morning for Catalina. We slept well and would stay here again. The breakfast consisted of a paper bag with an apple, apple juice, granola bar and prepackaged muffin.
i hava a gluten allergy, they had GF cereal for breakfast and a fruit. i was impressed by the front desk customer service, susan and one gentleman. i would stay here again. The rooms we clean, the cleaning staff was helpful, efficient, and personable.
Stayed here for one night for a pre cruise stay. Took advantage of the "free" shuttle to the port. Excellent young female driver! The hotel itself isn't the most appealing from the outside or even the street level entrance. Our room on the third floor facing the rear (away from the street) was a very pleasant surprise. King room was quite large with a lovely , large bathroom. It was exceptionally clean and quite comfortble. The included breakfast the following morning was good, with several choices once you figured out where everything was in the individual coolers etc. Where this property shone, was with the front desk staff, in particular, Jocelyn. We had a dreadful experience at LAX with our no show Execucar/supershuttle prepaid service with more poor experiences to follow. Finally arriving many hours later at the hotel, if it wasn't for the kindness and prfessionalism of Jocelyn we don't know what we would have done. Hopefully she is recognized by management and is on her way up in the organization. Thank you for taking a bad day and making it pretty darn good!!…
