Everything went well.. Checked in early. (After two o’clock without any extra fee) Room was clean, including the very nice bathroom and shower. Everyone we encountered was very professional and eager to help. Shuttle to the airport comes every 15-20.. Just know, in the morning, due to traffic it will take you 30-40 mins to get to the airport so plan accordingly (it’s a miserable ride ). We only stayed over night but I would recommend this hotel. We will be returning to LA next month and will hopefully book again.. oh yea, The weather was really mild, around mid to upper 80’s . Our air conditioning appeared to function properly. Also, there were three bottles of water in the room.. One larger bottle is clearly marked with a price. The two smaller bottles and clearly marked as complementary.

I've organized a number of conferences at hotels across the country and am thrilled to leave a review for staff at the Sheraton Gateway. Even with multiple key staff members out unexpectedly due to illness, they were able to meet our group's needs and requests with ease.

The banquet staff were wonderful and kept our buffet lines moving with ease. When guests had any concerns or questions they quickly and without issue addressed it, such as on-the-spot special diet plates or adding cards with common allergens. Even when the food was removed and a few guests were late to the meal, they quickly whipped up plates for them.

In particular, our group was impressed by the banquet staff member Estela Estrada, who with a smile and eagerness was always checking in with our event coordinators to make sure we were satisfied. She's the kind of service worker who carries out her job in a way that makes you feel cared for and tended to delightfully.

As guests and event coordinators know, attitude is everything. The staff at the Sheraton Gateway from the front desk, bellman station, security, janitorial, events, and banquets were helpful and kind. I don't think you can ask for more!

The gym is quite nice - clean, well organized for a tight space, never ran out of cardio machines even though it was quite busy at times.

We really enjoyed the special water dispensers around with alkaline water.

We held a 5-day event at the Sheraton Gateway and had a room block as well. The Events Team were excellent in getting the contract squared away quickly and handling all of our details. The event space worked great for our needs and is in a very convenient location. The shuttle bus is also easy to navigate and comes frequently all day/night.
The hotel rooms are spacious and the beds/bedding are comfortable. I also want to note that the cleaning staff are incredibly friendly - every morning someone would greet me in the hallway with a smile. Would recommend this property either for an event, a stay, or both.

Stopped at a few Sheraton's throughout the world and this one is by far the worst.
As you walk into the hotel it looks a quite modern hotel, but that's where it ends, go to the rooms and the corridor carpets are threadbare, and an heath and safety issue, our room, shabby, well passed its sell by date, table lamps with their light covers split, wall paper that was so 70's.
Wi -fi virtually non- existent we had to pay our own provider $60 during our stay for coverage ( 2 nights), at one point we went to the hotel next door for decent coverage!
We thought about dining at the restaurant but a 20% mandatory 'tip' put us off as we only tip good service!
Our shabby room was adjacent to LAX's main runway which meant we didn't sleep well as the room had a lack of sound proofing.
The staff we found unhelpful - you ask a question and the person didn't know - I realise this was L A - home of the rudest people we've come across, but who pays these people?
The cherry on the cake was about 2-3 hours before we checked out was the cleaner knocking on our door to make sure we were leaving - something we have never experienced anywhere we have stayed
This hotel we felt was way below any standard we expect from this type of hotel - VERY POOR in most categories - to say it is a failing hotel is an understatement.

We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. Your feedback highlights several important issues all of which clearly impacted your stay. It is concerning to hear that the service from our team did not meet your expectations and that you found aspects of the experience, such as the early visit from housekeeping and the mandatory tip, frustrating. This is not the level of hospitality we aim to provide, and we deeply regret that your experience fell short. Please contact me at Carla.solorzano@pyramidglobal.com to address this more in-depth. Your comments will be shared with the relevant teams to address these concerns and work towards improving the guest experience. Trash tier for the price. Two rooms so far have had broken ac units, the elevators sound like they're going to come apart at any moment, they have the audacity to charge $4-$8 for one bottle of water, and they have the worst designed bathrooms I've ever seen. They charge for everything. The water pressure is almost non-existent and I had to turn the tap all the way to the left to get anything even mildly hot. You can hear people's alarms and tvs right through the walls. The location isn't really near anything, so it's only good if you're staying a single night to catch a flight the next day or something. Would not recommend staying long term, or at all really.

Stay away from this hotel if you don’t want to experience a traumatic experience.
We checked in last week, we were supposed to spend one night to catch a plane at dawn, after a few hours while we were sleeping they tried to open the door, checking from the peephole initially we did not understand who it was, we Locked the door scared to death asking to leave us alone, but they continued using a metal tool that you pass under the door to open it. No use contacting reception because no call was made from the room phone. Finally a receptionist came to the door and asked if we had a Reservation, (Check in in the afternoon, February Reservation, copy of our passport) we showed her the vaucher of our agency and told us that there had been an incident without explaining what had happened. We had our Guide call us at the hotel who accompanied us on a tour of California and told her that we had asked for a change of room by lying, our Trips Agency also made a report and they continued to lie saying that they were not aware of any problem. The fact that the situation was not clear that they did not explain to us what was happening added to the lying about what happened and the brutal way they tried to open the door made everything really terrifying, they heard us crying from the room in fright and continued to terrorize us. I stress that they had everything related to our Reservation, from the Voucher, to the copy of our passport and also the deposit of 100 dollars, there was no mishap. Honestly, we still don't know today
what their intentions were, and we don't know how it would have ended if they'd gotten in if we hadn't woken up in time. Don't go to this hotel. Unsure

We booked a five-and-a-half-day stay to conclude our two-month journey across the US, excited to wrap things up on a high note. After staying at several wonderful 5-star establishments throughout our travels, we expected the same quality from our final stop. Unfortunately, it fell short in several ways.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Christina, a trainee at the front desk, which was a great start. However, things quickly went downhill. Exhausted from our travels, we made our way to the 11th floor, only to discover there was no room service available. Hungry, we headed to the restaurant, which was oddly placed in the middle of the bar. The menu was quite basic, lacking healthier options, but famished, we ordered soup and soft tortillas.

Despite the underwhelming menu, the service we received from Ruben and a lovely older gentleman (whose name started with “L”) was exceptional. They embodied true customer service, and we had a delightful chat with Jennifer, who also made our first night more enjoyable. However, the rest of the stay didn't live up to their hospitality.

When we finally retired to our room, we found that our key had been deactivated, requiring another trip downstairs. Once we were ready for bed, we noticed the curtains were in poor condition and didn’t block out the light. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows were overstuffed with foam. We called guest services for an international plug, only to be told rudely that they didn’t offer any.

After a sleepless night, we raised our concerns with Coco at the front desk, whose professionalism and customer service were commendable. She immediately arranged for us to move to a room on the 8th floor and granted us complimentary access to the club, which we appreciated—though it turned out the club wasn’t open on the weekends. Despite this, we made the best of the next two days.

However, more issues arose. The hotel offered no all-day dining options, and lunch service was non-existent. Additionally, our non-smoking floor consistently smelled of cigarettes. After multiple complaints, a young security officer came, but when I asked him to smell the room, he casually told me to contact management, offering no further assistance.

I left a voicemail for the General Manager at 2:30 PM but never received a response. We are scheduled to check out tomorrow evening, having paid for a late check-out, before embarking on an 18-hour flight home. For the inconvenience and disappointing experience, I believe management should consider compensation—not just for the feedback, but for the disruption to the final leg of what was otherwise an incredible holiday.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, and we sincerely apologize that your stay did not meet the expectations set by your previous experiences. It’s disheartening to hear about the challenges you encountered, particularly at the conclusion of what should have been a relaxing end to your journey. We appreciate your kind words about Christina, Ruben, Jennifer, and Coco, whose hospitality and service stood out. However, the issues with the room, dining options, and communication regarding areas that were amiss are concerning. The lack of response from management is especially disappointing and falls far short of the service we strive to provide. Please contact me at Carla.solorzano@pyramidglobal.com to discuss this further. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will ensure it is shared with the appropriate departments so that we can address these shortcomings. We truly regret that your stay was marred by these issues and hope that, if you choose to return in the future, we can provide the quality and comfort you rightfully expected from the start. Safe travels on the remainder of your journey.

We have been here about 24 hours and, unfortunately, we are captive guests for 8 more nights as our daughter has a dance event going on in this hotel. Apart from the bell hop who helped us with luggages yesterday, every other staff we have encountered seems to be dismissive, rude, or seemed they would rather be somewhere else. Truly, I do not think they should be in the hospitality industry. We are at the tail end of our 2 week trip and this is our third hotel on this trip. The Hiltons we have stayed at in this trip has been amazing compared to this Sheraton. Housekeeping never came by the whole day after our first night and we had to call the front desk to request for towel change, amenity replacement and trash to be taken out. As I fall in line by the front desk yesterday, I observe and watched how they speak with other guest, wondering if its just me getting this treatment, but it seemed it is the work culture in this hotel. We have stayed at many other Marriott Bonvoy branded hotels which we raved about. This Sheraton though has been a horrendous experience over the past 24 hours and our family truly dread the next 8 night.

Please accept our apologies for the level of service you endured during your stay. This is not common nor reflects the high standards we strive for. Your review is helpful and we will utilize this as a training opportunity to ensure we do better for our valued guests. We regret there was any confusion regarding housekeeping. Once your guest room is ready for your arrival, our team does not re-enter the room unless a refresh is requested and the room is unoccupied. We understand you were not satisfied but we hope for a second chance to show you what we are truly capable of and restore your trust in our Brand.

I have been a loyal member of the Titanium Bonvoy and Hyatt Lifetime Globalist programs, and many others as frequently staying in hotels around the world. Until recently, I had never been let down by Bonvoy, until my stay at the Sheraton LAX. Normally, I would stay at the LAX Hyatt Regency and I regret trying a different hotel this time.

Our experience started with a long wait for the hotel shuttle at LAX. We watched as shuttles from the Hyatt and other hotels passed by, which was quite frustrating. The shuttle driver who eventually picked us up was helpful with our suitcases and deserved a good tip. However, the same cannot be said for the driver who took us back to LAX the next morning, as he barely assisted us.

The check-in process went smoothly, with a friendly clerk, and the bellboy who brought our luggage to the room was also pleasant. Unfortunately, the junior suite we were assigned was dark and outdated, with a dirty carpet. We had booked the room for a couple, but were surprised to find only one bathrobe and a pair of slippers in the bathroom. Furthermore, the phone in the room was not working properly, and we had to use the speakerphone to contact housekeeping. When I requested an additional bathrobe, I had to argue with the staff to obtain one.

The hotel's brasserie was only open for breakfast, so we ended up dining in a sports cafe with mediocre food and surrounded by noise from the large sports TVs. It was not the relaxed brasserie experience we were hoping for. Exhausted from our flight, we decided to order room service for dinner. However, the room service experience was highly unusual. We had to go downstairs to the cafe ourselves to pick up the food, which was delivered in plastic boxes and bags, reminiscent of outside delivery platforms. And yet, we were charged premium prices for this basic service. The food itself was okay but nothing special.

The walls in our room were poorly insulated, and since we had a connecting room, we could hear the TV from the next-door room. Additionally, the air conditioning unit in our room was old and noisy, and we could also hear the sound of planes landing nearby. Furthermore, the club floor was permanently closed, indicating that the hotel was still operating under Covid restrictions. All of these factors point to poor management.

Based on this experience, we have decided that we will never return to this hotel, as it did not meet our expectations and felt more like a motel.

WARNING-From the beginning to the end of my stay this hotel was very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL with the service and old structure that needs some upgrades bad. when you check in it is hidden fees of $100.00 deposit for room service etc., Just wanted a little explanation about hidden fees, when this very rude and immature Cruella De Vil that works the front desk, she was very rude and unprofessional to me. If you want to be over charged for outdated rooms and if you do not care about your safety, then this is the hotel for you. The rooms are very outdated, heat does not work, if you want to be comfortable with excellent customer service skills then this is not the place for you. Customer service sucks here!

It closed in March of 2020 when the local stay at home orders went into effect (I was there). Their initial plan was to renovate the lounge and reopen but the General Manager at the time didn't feel there was enough business to warrant staffing it so it remains closed. A new GM just took over last month and he may have a different take on it possibly moving it from the 15th floor to the first floor to keep with the Marriott standard. I will be there in about 10 days and know more.
