Beautiful rooms and wonderful view at the club lounge. Minnie the attendant there was sweet and very welcoming. The other guy working there was fantastic too. I’m glad they were both there. Great job.
The Sheraton Grand in downtown Los Angeles lived up to its name as we had Grand stay with the most lovely interactions with employees from the lobby up to the 26th floor. Highly recommend booking a club level room as the lovely Minnie really takes care of you in the club lounge. Her warm smile and highest level of hospitality made us feel at home while in the lounge enjoying the panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles.
Well appointed rooms, amazing lobby and for Bonvoy members a VERY nice lounge with 180 degree views of downtown and of course if you’re lucky enough Miss Minnie will be working and make sure your lounge experience is top notch. She makes you feel welcome and like family. Truly the star of this hotel!
My friend and i came to celebrate our birthdays. The waiter Enrique was Awesome! He recommended cocktails that were top notch and even had special characters printed on them, which made my day. He then suggested appetizers and checked on us several times. All the food was delicious and good sized portions. It has a relaxed atmosphere so you don't feel rushed and the staff is super friendly.
I stayed here last week and the hotel refused to grant me access to the Lounge as a Marriott Platinum because supposedly my corporate rate excluded it… our rate is not much different than all the major corporations (ibm, Accenture, Deloitte etc) - I wonder if all those corporations get stiffed as well? Really outrageous - stay elsewhere… the nearby Westin Bonaventure honors Platinum benefits and has a fantastic breakfast… Terrible!
On the plus side the executive lounge is open in the evening and had very good hors d'oeuvres and snacks by post-covid standards. There is a Starbucks close to the hotel that opens at 4:30 am for east coasters who wake up entirely too early. The elevator situation was terrible as others have noted and the main reason I only gave four stars.
I recently stayed 5 nights at Sheraton and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The room was clean but the refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were not full. Also, the water pressure in the shower was appalling!! The next day after a long day of exploring LA the housekeeping chased me in the corridor with a full bottle of Body Wash for me to replace in the bathroom, this should have been done while they were cleaning the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. we stayed on level 4 and the noise level from other guests and nearby machinery (I believe the lift going up and down) was quite loud, which made it difficult to relax in the room. The staff was not very helpful or responsive to my concerns, which only added to my frustration. I was hoping for a relaxing and comfortable stay, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. In addition to the above, the front desk had difficulties in processing further authorizations from my card due to being locked for unauthorized transactions, which led to being unable to access my room on day 4 for a measly $60, had to go all the way down to the front desk and resolved the matter in person, wish they had the common sense to call me in the room or mobile to inform me of the issue instead of canceling the access without prior notice. On our final day, we paid for a late checkout, we had a late flight and did not want to wait at the airport so we were happy to pay, @ 12PM I was surprised by security at my door, he asked me to get in touch with the front desk as he had been advised that the room would be "vacant", I call the front desk and again the same person which I spoke the day before proceed to say that he tried to process the late checkout and could not get it approved due to the card being locked, he already knew what the problem was and proceed to say that if I could unlock it he would proceed with the charges. Suffice it to say that the card was charged again a measly $200 and no apologies for the inconvenience were offered, this is the first time that we were unable to access a room or confronted by security before the checkout, we have already pre-authorized a deposit at the beginning of the stay and normally would not have to pay anything until checkout, I was very surprised and disappointed with Sheraton's front desk staff handling of the whole situation, a simple phone call could have resolved a lot of the inconveniences. I would not recommend this hotel to others based on my experience.…
Everything was really nice, the biggest problems, however, were the nightmares they call elevators. There are only 4 in the whole hotel for the guests and they always are running late. When going across floors, I would wait 20 minutes to go up to my room from the lobby... that's insane. On the other hand, the room was lovely, had a great view and I really enjoyed the areas around the hotel such as the Bloc during the day.
Most horrible elevator experience I have ever had. Took 10+ minutes after punching the button to have an elevator arrive. Lighting in room was inadequate, bathroom also had bad lighting. No vent in bathroom. Steamy bathroom when taking shower, and low water pressure.
Lupe/Manuel were the most amazing servers I’ve ever met! Lupe was so friendly, bubbly and nice. She gave me such cool tips about what to do around town. Definitely would recommend. Compliments to a great, amazing server Lupe. Amaazing food! The whole experience from start to finish is great waitress is always so friendly and kind. The food can’t get better!!!
