Arrival- Ed was so friendly and welcoming! Took care of my bags, asked if it was my first time (and it was) so he told me all about the hotel, area, and where to find my ice! LOL. Check in- Emily and Cornelia were amazing! Always checking in on me to make sure I had everything for my stay. I even got a beautiful plant and my beloved coffee maker delivered to my room. Also helped with things to do in the area. I had to ship back the “swag” I got from the conference I attended and Cornelia found me a box and let me borrow packing tape to take care of shipping it back. Breakfast- My favorite meal especially at a hotel!!!! It was a bit expensive but well worth it. Alejandro at breakfast was super friendly, lots of attention to details, courteous and always with a big smile! Overall a great stay and will definitely recommend this hotel and come back again! The location was very convenient to the Embassy of Finland which is where I was going. I'd say overall it was a reasonably good stay with comfortable beds and pillows so I did have a great night's rest. Wish they had room service. In a nice neighborhood location.

I was excited when I booked the Palomar. There is one in Phila and it is delightful. But this hotel is not even a step sister. We were here for 6 nights and the first three days, we had to go to the front desk to have the room keys recoded - not fun when you are on the 19th floor. My biggest issue is with House Keeping. It is hopeless. I had to ask to have the little four pack of cotton balls replenished, never got a new tiny bottle of body lotion and never had the table in the room dusted off, The furniture is chipped and looks like it is gathering of old Aunt Mary's dressers. We had two safes but one did not work. Palomar is not an inexpensive booking and I feel I wasted my money. Never returning.

Dear H5817MBbettinak, Thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience. I am not sure why you needed to get your key recoded so many times. I am so sorry about that, as that is not very common. Did the front desk give you any explanation? I will be sure to coach the front desk to physically go up with the guest to see what the issue is firsthand. I will also work with housekeeping; ensuring they are replenishing all amenities, as guests use them. I am also sorry you had two safes, but only one worked and the furniture is chipped. I have shared this information with our Engineering Manager. Once again, thank you for your time and I hope you give us another chance to welcome you back.

We were not able to stay. Our son contracted Covid and was in quarantine. We did purchase a non refundable room. However, the general manager refused our request for a refund. Heartless organization. We were and have been frequent guests at Kimptons. After this experience - never again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry you booked a prepaid nonrefundable reservation and your son, unfortunately, got sick. I do recall, from our conversation, you were still traveling to Southern California. We would have loved to welcome you since you were still traveling. We do hope you give us another chance to welcome you in the future.

Stayed last few days of July into early August. We had a one bedroom suite, facing Wilshire on the 19th floor. It was spotless, seems to have been refreshed recently, plenty of space and a great sized bathroom. Two weeks prior I had stayed and had a king room on the 9th floor that I also reviewed and was not really thrilled. This later stay changed my perception and can say I will definitely stay here again.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly capable staff. That pesky resort fee struck again but this time it included a happy hour of wine, a reduction in car parking fee and a nice hire of beach towels and games. I guess it’s probably more of a business hotel but great for a family vacation as well

I suffered from bed bugs as a result of staying at the Hotel Palomar in August 2022. After approaching management with bites on my body, I was told I still needed to pay for my stay until they conducted an in-room inspection. With numerous bites on my body, I refused to stay at the hotel any longer and was unbelievably charged “an early cancellation fee.” Management then called me to confirm the findings of bed bugs in my room, and as result of such confirmation, I paid to have my car professionally cleaned and disposed of my clothing and personal belongings that had been in the room, as I didn’t want to further contaminate my other belongings, and did not want to risk exposing the new hotel or anyone with whom I visited. While the Hotel Palomar acknowledged the room had bed bugs, their only remedy was to put me in touch with their insurance, who to this day has not provided me with $1 in compensation for the losses I sustained as a result of the bed bugs in their hotel. I provided their insurance company with everything requested and all documentation and further notified the Hotel Palomar of their lack of action. In my opinion, the Hotel Palomar has engaged in poor business practices and has little regard for its consumer’s well being.

I loved the afternoon snacks and manager's reception, coffee bar in the lobby, no pet fee, free bicycles, friendly staff, immaculate bathroom, comfy pool, nicely decorated, great location, and having a self parking option. I didn't love the lazy bald doorman, the pervasive lack of cleaning in the common areas, or the cramped parking garage. The photo is of some crumbs that have been on this lobby table for all four days of my visit.

Overall, average for business travel BUT beware that you cannot drop the room temp below 68 degrees even during the hottest summer days. The HVAC is not able to keep up during hot weather. Vacationers have better options with adjustable thermostats in the room. If you get a room facing Wilshire Blvd, be ready for some traffic noise that can interrupt sleep. Room was clean, bathroom a little tired, not close to many dining options other than fast food options. Hotel breakfast was good. Staff is friendly enough. Close to UCLA if that is a priority.

First of all, I’m not rich, I’m an EMT. I love what I do but I don’t make a lot of money. But it was our 1 year anniversary, and we decided to get a babysitter, have a romantic dinner and stay in a hotel for the night. To my surprise there was a listing for a room here for $134 through Google on traveluro. Wow ok, it looked like the stars aligned. I can afford that. After checking out, they add another $79 in fees, totaling $213. Out of my range, but I reluctantly pay as it’s a special occasion and my wife deserves it. When we arrived, we were told we had to pay another $47 plus tax for parking, $32 “amenity fee” and a $10 hotel surcharge fee. NONE of these, by the way were mentioned on the website. So basically expect to pay about 3x the price of what you see on Google. I even triple checked the booking website as I thought this was a mistake, but on top of not stating ANY extra fees, it even stated parking is covered. At this point, with what I make it’s not really worth it anymore, because we still wanted to have a nice dinner. So I contacted the company to cancel and they said to talk to the hotel manager. When brought to the attention of Claudia the hotel manager, she just gave a condescending attitude and explained that’s how it is, and there’s nothing they can do. When I told them none of that was stated or I wouldn’t have booked it, they just said coldly there’s a strict no cancellation policy and I would be charged for the night anyways. So basically I was forced to pay it or I just lost my money. I mean what’s to stop them from adding on a $200, or 300 or whatever fee once you get there? I don’t feel like that should be legal. I’ve booked tons of hotels through Google and I’ve NEVER had this issue before. I’ve always had great experiences at IHG hotels, I was shocked at the attitude of the staff. I know I’m not rich and may not be their usual clientele, and they definitely made me feel like it. Just the way they were looking at me with no sympathy like I was a peasant. So instead of the romantic dinner I had planned, I shelled out the extra hundred bucks and we had some cheap Indian food, which was still good. So $300 later for the supposedly $134 room, we get in and the rooms were smaller and honestly no better than a holiday inn standard room. In fact there wasn’t even a coffeemaker inside or free breakfast. What a mistake I made trying to stay at a “4 star hotel”. Could have stayed at a cute bed and breakfast place or any holiday inn even, instead of getting looked down upon by the staff and getting tricked and ripped off.

Good Evening Cubbiefan87, Thank you for choosing to stay with us for such an important day for you and your wife. I am so sorry to hear about the horrible encounter you had, though. The Guest Amenity Fee and Hotel Worker Protection Surcharge should be listed on all booking sites. If you could share your confirmation letter with me, I would really appreciate it. I will also be sure to speak with and coach Claudia, as that is not typical of her. I truly appreciate the feedback, because this is how we can work towards getting better. Once again, thank you and if you are ever in the area, we would love the chance to make it right for you and your wife.
