We recently stayed at the Kimpton Palomar in September as I had a doctor appointment at very nearby Cedars Sanai. We were pleasantly surprised at both the look and feel of the hotel (think modernistic approach with an homage to old Hollywood) as well as the welcoming staff and their commitment to make your stay pleasurable. In addition, they used signage to communicate their extensive safety measures - which is a real consideration in this age of CoVid 19. I am always up very early due to insomnia. At 400 am I was wanting some Coffee. I went down to the lobby and they happily made me a cup of coffee with their keurig and I was pleasantly surprised that they had flavored creamer available. Not only are you close to famous restaurants like Sur, And Pump (Vanderpump Rules) but you are also minutes away from Santa Monica Pier and Beverly Hills. Finally, the Kimpton chain is famous for their robes and the robes here were no exception. They were cozy and soft. If you are heading to the LA, Santa Monica, Wilshire area make sure you stay at the Kimpton Palomar.

I promised my partner I wouldn’t leave a bad review about how horrible our stay was but ever since we checked out this has been on my mind. The older gentlemen that checked us in seemed to hate his job and did not once thank me for being an IHG member even though I booked this stay with points which was a mistake and I wish there was a way to get those points back. We got to the hotel around 7 because we weren’t sure if we should go or not but being our 3 year wedding anniversary we found someone last minute to take care of our doggos so we can enjoy a night in Beverly Hills like we’ve been wanting to all year. From the moment we checked in I felt like we made a mistake in choosing this property as the level of professionalism lacked heavily as the older gentlemen was not interested in why we were they, probably anti-lgbtq+ if you ask me.. at night we called for some extra pillows which never showed up and were abruptly waken up at 9 in the morning by a loud sawing noise that was coming from the hallway. When I called the front desk to ask what it was about the lady on the phone informed me that they were taking off the locks off doors near our room and did not apologize for the inconvenience. As we walked out of our room to the pool and back the individuals who were literally sawing into the doors with loud handheld motor saw (imagine someone drilling into metal) they were also having loud and inappropriate conversations as to who they slept with the night before. Overall a 0/0 and I would recommend anyone interested in staying here and is a member of IHG to consider spending a little more and staying at a better property with actual hospitality professionals at the front desk and throughout the property. We thought because it was Beverly Hills it would be amazing but sadly I lost a big chunk of points that I had saved up to use on a special occasion on this 2 star hotel.

So their response is to close the lobby bathrooms-what about handwashing? Also to discontinue housekeeping, apparently to the point that one runs out of toilet paper. The response to a request to please refresh the towels and bring toilet paper was to dump a trashbag of items inside the door. I had another reservation for two weeks but will be staying elsewhere.

This hotel incorrectly charged me for room service that I did not order. Rolando Roland (an employee) lied to me and said that he spoke to the employee who served me and said the employee remembered me saying to charge it to my room. This was a week after I saw my bill on my Concur account. How is this possible that the server remembered me a week later? It was suspicious because he called me back in 10 minutes saying he spoke to the server and the server remembered me. I should have pressed Rolando a little harder and asked for video. I was by myself so I had no reason to order extra food to my room as I left in the morning for business. This was a business trip and my work was paying for it.

My partner and I stopped here for 3 days to explore LA before starting a road trip up the coast. Nice and friendly staff, the room was clean and spacious with nice views and within great walking distance of westwood village. The main tourist busses pass here too which is great for sight seeing. We moved on to the next leg of our trip but left some personal belongings by mistake, the staff were great and held onto things until we were next passing through which was a huge relief. We had breakfast there every day, plenty of choice and very delicious. Cannot make any recommendations for improvement, thank you for a great stay.
