Stayed there a week, end of Jan during an unusual cold spell. The staff is GREAT very friendly and helpful. First impression getting off the elevator into DARK hall. The walls are gray, the carpet is gray, even the ceiling is gray = dark! I had a nice corner room with 2 windows – the dirtiest windows I’ve ever seen... More

My sister and I stayed here on a Contiki tour in mid December 2015. When we first stepped into our room in the late evening, we were shocked by how extremely stuffy and hot the room was. We saw an air con unit on the wall which we promptly turned on and turned down the temperature, however not long after... More

needed a place close to teragram ballroom for work. this did the trick. they are remodeling it. lobby reminds me of the weekly hotels before downtown la was gentrified. the floor we stayed on was just remodeled. small, really small, but fresh, clean, and pretty nice decor. they have some kind of cheesy dining room downstairs but it was closed... I came into this hotel a bit skeptical reading all the previous reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. I got a nice HUGE renovated rooms with a large king bed even though I paid for the cheapest room available. Needless to say, I got the best value for my money. The room itself is very clean, and the staffs are... More

I havent been disappointed with a hotel in quite a while. This one really disappointed. From its horrendous transitional neighborhood with no safe place to park. I entered the lobby and Thats when I felt like I was cheated. The entire lobby felt like it hadn't been maintained for decades. Holes in the ceiling, cheap fluorescent lights, dark spots throughout,... More

Dear Edgar B., First off I'd like to apologize for the level of service that you received while staying at The Mayfair. No guest should have to come downstairs at 3AM to get a bottle of water. Know that I'll be working on this with our front desk team to address this and prevent future guests from having to deal... More

Overall experience was nice for the price, however it is important to point out that this hotel is undergoing construction and only a few floors are opened to guests. Considering all the construction, I would say this hotel is not very good for small children. Room was okay (looked somewhat simpler than on the picture) and breakfast was good (for... More

If you look at my other reviews you will see that I do not and have never written a bad review. It is unfortunate that this review has to be in this way. I will therefore write only fact. The hotel foye is splendid and grand, after this it goes down hill. On entering the lifts they were filthy and... More

We had a horrible experience here in December 2015. We stayed as part of a Contiki group and had our hotel changed to here last minute. What a mistake that was! The location is awful, not close to any major attractions. There are homeless people on the streets right outside the entrance and it does not feel safe. The lobby... More

Ok so I came to this hotel with LOW expectations! It actually surprised me. I was very impressed. Let me just start off to say that everyone that works here is so pleasant and nice. They made you feel comfortable Teena at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Although this hotel is going through some major renovations when... More
