Location can't be beat, it's walking distance to all the shops & restaurants in Westwood. We booked one night using 50K points & suite night award, to visit our daughter at UCLA. Despite communicating in advance to confirm our 2 bdrm room, we ended up with a 1 bdrm suite that we did not ask for - we spent 20-30min sorting this out when all we wanted to do was check into our room & rest. Our "Spectacular" 2bdrm suite (Room 619) was less than spectacular - couch was so beat up w/faux leather flaking everywhere, shower had this weird square cutout on the door so all the water sprayed all over the bathroom floor, doorbell did not work, and none of the phones in the room worked. Titanium/Platinum breakfast is a joke, you get $25 credit pp but everything is SO overpriced esp coffee being $6 when it's free in the hotel lobby. I wish I would've known about the free coffee in the lobby before we paid $12 plus tax & tip for 2 coffees. Our waiter, Jose, was delightful though - he provided GREAT customer service and was the highlight of our stay. The biggest miss happened when my husband & I went out and left our teenage daughter sleeping by herself. We made sure to put a "do not disturb" sign before heading out, and when we returned around 11am, there was a rollaway bed in the middle of our room that we DID NOT ask for, and we were very disturbed by the fact that someone came into our room WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION despite having a do not disturb sign. This is an unacceptable security breach. My husband found 2 housekeeping staff in the hallway and the male worker admitted that he brought the rollaway bed into our room, b/c his manager Alberto asked him to deliver it. He insisted that he called our room and knocked on our door before coming in (remember how I commented earlier that our doorbell and none of the phones worked in our room?). He was so apologetic (just trying to do his job), but I am apalled that this hotel does not train their housekeeping staff correctly - you should NEVER enter a guest room without permission esp when there is a do not disturb sign. Despite our terrible experience, I am giving an extra star for Jose and because the hotel refunded us for this stay. Unfortunately, there is no great Bonvoy property near UCLA - I recommend staying at the Luskin Conference Center (great hotel!) when visiting UCLA.

Im a Marriott titanium elite. I’ve stayed in tons of hotels before and this stay is perhaps the most memorable one for me yet. My first point of contact was with the front desk, I have never been greeted with so much sincerity and warmth. They treated me like a visiting friend/family. Traveling alone and especially on Christmas Day definitely felt lonely, but their hospitality really made my day! Thank you Katherine, Shawn and Paul for this wonderful W experience. It is because of people like them that made great hotel memories, and not just the hotel itself. So thank you for everything from the bottom of my heart.

We were blown away by how gorgeous the hotel is! But the thing that really made our stay was the staff! Joseph Chris and Lynn made our stay so much better! Happy hour at the hideout is a must and the food is amazing. Thanks for everything and we will be staying here again soon!

We usually love W Hotels but this one was subpar. Our suite looked like a DIY project with loose wallpaper and peeling leather on couches. Check in staff were unfriendly and rude. Concierge didn't bring us our requested items and valet (which was a very pricey $60 pet night) was slow. Would not recommend.

I would absolutely return to this property because of these 2 team members. In my previous life, I was a hotelier for over 15+ years. 3 W Hotels under my belt dating back as far as 2000. These 2 exemplify what I hope they continue to be celebrated for by their colleagues + management. To whomever is the Welcome Desk Manager, thank them for all they do consistently + continue to develop them. Do not wait for them to come to you to get them on a path that takes them to the next level. They are the future of hospitality. Any lifestyle hotel brand would be fortunate to have them.
