We were attending a concert at the Hollywood Bowl & decided to make a romantic weekend out of it. We chose Hotel Roosevelt because we love historic, charming buildings with great stories to tell, and it was near the venue (we walked back 20 min.) We stayed in a Cabana room which means we were in a poolside room with a deck. We loved this property. In contrast to the brightness of L.A. the hotel is dark and cozy with soft lighting from lamps, sconces, and fireplaces. There are lots of hallways and mysterious rooms to explore (theater & speakeasy) PROS: Excellent service at front desk and concierge (Nicholas) Plenty of quality restaurants & bars to choose from Centrally located to the Hollywood scene Beautiful, tropical pool area (10’ deep pool) Free yoga/cocktail classes on weekends Art Deco architecture Numerous indoor areas to lounge CONS: No coffee machine in room TV was small with glitchy sound (unwatchable) At times wi-fi stopped working Cabana rooms means hearing the weekend DJ& partners until late at night Housekeeping didn’t clean our room after we told them we’d be gone for hours. They arrived very late in the afternoon so we had to vacate the room again. Housekeeping did not replace our waters nor our glasses. Around 9:30pm we called room service for waters & glasses. The employee was wasted. He couldn’t figure my name or what we were asking for. Needless to say, nothing was delivered. 2nd call we got Ryan who was professional and took care of it. …

We stayed at the Roosevelt because we were attending a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Very convenient shuttle service to the Bowl just within walking distance. Lovely 20's vibe and the staff were all great! From reception to the Tropical Bar, where we sat and watched families with little ones enjoying the pool. Great food....the rooms are small, but it was built in the era where that was the norm. The bed was comfortable, which was my main concern. I would definitely go back for another concert trip!

I was there over four days. I could not have been happier with the experience. It will be my go-to place if I need to travel to LA. The room and bed were perfectly comfortable. The pool area is very nice. I enjoyed sitting and working in the magnificent lobby, where, one evening, a clarinetist and guitarist played gypsy jazz; they are world-class. The new restaurant is excellent. Overall, it's a really cool, classic place. I felt no need to go anywhere else.

The location is great. You can see the Hollywood sign, Chinese theater and walk of Fame stars on the ground below. We didnt have time to swim, but the pool area seemed very relaxing. We ate at the 25 degrees restaurant and it was great. The ambiance of the bar area was fabulous. You have to valet park but they were very timely with getting us our car when we needed it. Everyone was very friendly.

Everything was amazing, from the hotel, to the food, to the service! The night manager bill found out we were celebrating a birthday/gender reveal and gave us a private tour of the hotel! He even managed to get us credits so we can eat breakfast the next morning. We definitely will be coming back! Thank you Bill!

We have had an incredible time here. The highlight was absolutely Cody M in security when he gave us a history tour of the hotel on a whim, just….because. We were so impressed with the history and how much of the original property was intact and celebrated. He showed us several of the private event spaces and I can see why this place has such charm and mystique. What a gem that is integral to Hollywood.

I hosted a small birthday dinner party in the hotel lobby for my birthday. I had decided to spend the night to get the full experience and it went beyond my expectations. From making the reservation directly with the hotel, Edmund, was amazing. He answered multiple questions and called me back when he did not have the answer. Just lovely and easy interaction. Julie the GM os Shirley Brasserie also was very helpful and responsive. Chanel who checked me in was very gracious and welcoming. Rocco a valet helped get me and my dog settled into the room. The room was perfect. Modern with a classic touch. The hotel is beautiful. Impeccably kept and much cared for by the amazing team at the hotel. Our family (two adults and two teenage kids) stopped off in LA as part of our multi-stop holiday to the West Coast last month—an eagerly awaited vacation that had been delayed due to Covid. Originally planned to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday, it now happily coincided with our son turning 16. As a result, I took the unusual step of contacting the hotels we had booked in advance to make them aware of these special occasions. Among all the hotels, The Roosevelt was the only one to acknowledge and respond, but what's more... they blew our minds. We received emails from three separate members of staff, all of which were very warm and engaging. One even asked us about our preferences for snacks and drinks upon arrival. However, we could have never expected the warm welcome we received upon arrival. The manager had upgraded us from a standard family room to an upper-level suite with stunning views of the boulevard and the Walk of Fame below, as well as the Hollywood Hills (we could even see the Hollywood sign from our bed in the morning!). The room itself was spread across two large separate sumptuous rooms, complete with a dining area. Upon arrival, our room was stocked with lovely sparkling cider, homemade cookies, and snacks—a delightful and much-welcomed surprise after our flight from San Francisco. The housekeeping was impeccable, and the hotel itself didn't disappoint. It retains all of its 'classic' glory but has clearly undergone considerate refurbishment to make it suitable for this century. If we are lucky enough to visit 'Tinsel Town' again, we wouldn't dream of booking anywhere else. This place is movie history! Amazing staff, Cameron in security and Mett at the pool bar are amazing! And the cleaning staff seriously rock. So happy every time we are here. Would not stay anywhere else. Also, the bar food is great and prices are reasonable.
