This was our 2nd stay at the Sofitel. This hotel is the closest to Cedars Sanai Hospital, and I had an early appointment for an operation the next day. The room was nice and had a great view of the Hollywood Hills. The staff were more than helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at the Sofitel with our teenage sons on our family vacation. I was very impressed with the rooms and how professional the staff is. Our waitress in the restaurant was a joy every day. They are doing a great job with covid protocols. I was very impressed, start to finish.

We spent a very pleasant four day stay at this hotel in early December. Security at the hotel was excellent, card access to the floor in elevator. As noted by another reviewer, there is a homeless person's tent in a bus shelter a short distance from the hotel; this did not cause any particular concern, and we felt safe even at night, as there was always staff at the front entrance to the hotel. To be fair, one can see homeless folks anyplace in LA. Room size ("Luxury King"; suspect recently renovated) was more than adequate, including closet and dresser space. Bed was a little soft for our taste, but not uncomfortable. Bed covering was a duvet, without a sheet: my wife was fine with it, but I found it much to warm - should have asked housekeeping for a sheet. Bathroom had a rain shower (not necessarily an advantage) with hand wand, and adequate water pressure/hot water, good space for toiletries. Didn't need to use the air conditioning, which is centrally sourced. Lighting was marginally adequate for reading at the desk. Large TV with on-screen program guide. WiFi seemed slow, but okay for light surfing - suspect streaming would be challenging. Room was clean, and well maintained, no squeaky hinges on doors, drains worked well, etc. Housekeeping was provided on a daily basis, and the housekeeping staff were happy to arrange for shower caps for my wife. Others have noted noise from the school across the street; we had absolutely no issue with this, given we were on the seventh floor. Hotel location is ideal, with a couple of shopping centers within a block, multiple restaurants close by, and a ten minute drive to LACMA, the Peterson Auto museum, and the new Academy Award museum. A few beefs. The reason for choosing this hotel was the availability of self parking at a very reasonable price ($20/night). When we checked in, the desk agent informed us that self parking was only available during the height of Covid (when I'd made my reservation), and valet parking was mandatory at $50/night, although they were prepared to honour the $20/night rate in our reservation. I explained that one of the critical factors in choosing the hotel was self parking, and to his credit, the agent arranged with the valet captain to give us the access code to the garage, and allow us to park the car. (I'm weird with valet parking, I know...). Virtually all of the hotels in the area only have valet parking, so I can see why the Sofitel would join the club, but I wonder much their occupancy rate would increase if they offered reasonably priced self parking. When we return, we'll park our car across the street at the Beverly Center parking lot, as another reviewer did. Also, this Sofitel needs to upgrade their business center computers; I wanted to print the results of a PCR test required to fly home, only to find that the computers did not support the browser my E-mail provider uses.

Dear Larry Thank you for your review! We are so happy to see that you were able to make the most of your stay with us! We are indeed famous for our location. Our parking was build to accommodate valet parking service and unfortunately not self parking. However at the beginning of the pandemic we felt it was a safer option to offer self service parking. Since October we are happy to offer again a full valet service. We apologies for the inconvenience and that this service did not match your expectation. Please be sure that we shared the feedback regarding your experience at the business center with our management team in order to take action on it immediately. We do apologize about the inconvenience. Looking forward to an opportunity to better serve you in the future. Best regards,

Beautiful rooms and prompt concierge but valet was pricey and slow and our mini bar was not renewed, with open and empty bottles when we checked in which is unacceptable at any time, especially when sanitization and cleaning practices are boasted.

Dear Chanielib,, Thank you for your review. Please be sure that we shared the feedback regarding your mini bar experience with our management team in order to take action on it immediately. We do apologize against about the inconvenience. We are nonetheless very sorry to know that you were displeased with the value of our Valet Parking facilities. Our valet service is handled by an external company, and although the city has imposed an minimum wage increase on all hotel service related jobs which has impacted our valet rates, we feel that our rates reflect the average Beverly Hills / West Hollywood rates and they are on par with our nearby competitors as well. Looking forward to an opportunity to better serve you in the future. Best regards,
