Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Marriott definitely is a monopoly near DTLA. There's 4 with one street between them. This property has a R3sidence Inn combined with a Courtyard. No real restaurant that both hotels share along with the lobby & reservation desk. The suite rooms were cramped and claustrophobic.

Is there a coin-operated guest laundry? What is the cost?
Hi Menicksmom, Yes, both Courtyard and Residence Inn guests can enjoy our laundry. I would estimate $2.00 for each wash/dry. There is a change machine in the facility, located on the 3rd floor, or you can get change at our Front Desk. We look forward to seeing you soon.

It's about 2 1/2 miles. The hotel does not have shuttle service. You can take the #4 bus if you don't mind walking a few blocks on each end. Personally I would sign up for either Uber or Lyft. Both are excellent ways to get around the city. There are also taxis available.

Yes. The Metro Red Line is a 10-minute walk (Metro Center) and then about a half hour to Universal on the Red Line.
