Magical hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable, the room temps set just right upon arrival, the front desk and doorman, and cafe were hospitable and COVID safe. We scheduled for our rooms to be cleaned each day which they were extremely prompt about - restocked our water and vacuumed the carpet (I have stayed at places where that didn’t happen). A few of the staff members went above and beyond, Frances and the woman working 11/7 around 12 pm (beautiful name but I would botch the spelling). The General Manager went out of his way to check in on our experience and make sure we were happy and comfortable. We also requested an additional chair (working remotely) for our room and they promptly delivered assuring us that they would be happy to help with anything else we may have needed (the young woman working the front desk on the morning of 11/3). The cleanliness of the room was also superb. We couldn’t have chosen a better hotel at this time and looking forward to booking here again!

The night crew is not outstanding. They are accommodating, professional, helpful and friendly!
I’ve had the best relaxing experience at the Ace.
Every thing from bringing up a bathrobe to a fresh set of towels not to mention the refreshing body wash to the gorgeous vintage tub , I feel I’m back in time of the speak easy days and the classic glamorous Hollywood movie star days.. but better than Hollywood because it’s Downtown L.A.

Very comfortable stay in Loft...will return! Was there for 5 nights and the space was perfect and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The bed is super comfortable with great pillows. Mini bar is thoughtfully stocked with satisfying items. Love that Ace Hotels carries Everybody Water, a delicious boxed water that is women-owned with an incredible mission to bring running water into people's homes for the first time.

There was generous closet space. I also found the desk to be very spacious and well set up for zooms and organization of materials.

The atmosphere in the restaurants is also wonderful. With the shows at the theatre and upstairs the restaurant gets lively and fun. The food and cocktails are very good... loved everything on the menu and I ate their a lot over the 5 days. The rooftop is beautiful with an unforgettable view of the carved gothic tracery that tops this iconic building.

This neighborhood is very fun with top restaurants in close proximity. This is also one of the best locations if you are visiting USC as it is only a 10 min. drive.

If you are sensitive to sound ask for a room that is protected from the street noise as this is an urban location.

I can not believe how horrible this hotel is. The room was aesthetically bizarre, with concrete flooring and stained cardboard paneling on the walls. Our “medium” sized room had a bed that touched the wall at its foot, and the blanket covering it looked like it came from a thrift store and had never been washed. Parking was $45 dollars, which seemed a bit steep and the hallways of the hotel were dark and creepy and reminded us of The Shining. Please consider other options in LA! For $300 + $45 for parking, you can find some truly lovely places to stay! The building itself has great history, architecture, and beauty, but the execution of it as a hotel is woefully lacking! Adding to the bad experience was staff who were rude, overwhelmed, and confused. Really a shame, considering that with a proper hotelier, this place could have a chance.

Let me count the ways this hotel is a no go unless you enjoy student hostel chic (or as one person said on another web-site) construction zone. modern) at prices higher than many other downtown hotels

They tried to charge us $60 more than quoted and confirmed. They charged us for two night's parking when we stayed (and parked) only one night.

When we asked for amenities the twice assured us were in our room - 2 bathrobes instead of one, teabags (no coffee!) and another uncomfortable wooden chair, we had to ask 3 times. There is no coffee machine in the room.

The heater didn't work and it was unusually cold in LA on that March night.we asked for engineering to fix it; they came; and it still didn't work right.

The "terrace" for which we paid a premium price was more like a fire escape and it faced the back of a billboard overlooking a parking lot.

The "medium room with King bed" was tiny with the foot of the bed literally shoved up against the only wall with windows you could see out of. The bed took up all but a foot or so of the width of the room. Since. they couldn't put the tv in front of the bed, it was hung on the wall parallel to the length of the bed. The person on the far side of the bad would have to stretch his or her neck to the left tand lift it while in bed to see the TV. It was easier to watch streamers on our computer.

The bathroom was literally in a closet with no ventilation that was built out from and against the wall. The rest of the plumbing was in the room up against the wall that bordered the halway.

The coffee bar downstairs sold lukewarm coffee.

Reservations was unable to answer the simplest questions like "am I checked in?" when we called the main local hotel number it was routed to a call center in an unknown location who answed "ace Hotel" so you had no idea you were speaking with someone in the middle of nowhere until they told you they had no idea how to answer your question and you needed to call the hotel (which we just had) and gave us the same local number we had just dialed.

I shudder to think of the size of the "small" rooms.

The confirmation email doesn't itemize the total cost, hence the confusion of being charged $375 for a $319 room.

Unbelievably. noisy at night with the night club patrons pouring out through at least 2 in the morning. Chic has its price. But this hotel is not chic, comfortable, or very nice..

The roof bar and lounge is nice and appealing. would be a good place for a drink or coffee.

We have stayed in the ACE Palm Springs and liked it. we checked out a day early ad went to the Milennium Biltmore and had a very comfortable room for a base price about $100 cheaper. And,the latter put coffee machines into the rooms.

i was very excited to book my stay here in the heart of DTLA, with the majority of what i wanted to do while visiting in close proximity. but, that all changed.

the staff, were only face value nice...meaning they had sweet smiles and tone, but they weren’t trying their best to be accommodating/had great answers to questions or requests i might’ve had.
i ate breakfast at best girl my last day, paid with cash and the barkeep didn’t give me back my change. it was only two dollars...but, the fact that it was basically taken without my giving. very off putting.

the rooms, as a solo traveler were decent size for me. they were clean....but the bed? my back hurts. for what paid for my entire stay, i would think they would use that money to invest into some softer beds. it literally felt like i was sleeping on a fancy haystack.

i also was kept up until about 2:30-3am because of the rooftop.

We nicknamed our room “The Cell”. Luckily we are good natured people who had a bit of a laugh about our experience however the high cost took an edge off our humor. We stayed at the Ace because we were attending a concert in the attached theater. The base price was $318/night but when taxes, a $50 usage fee for something or other, and a $50 valet parking fee were added it came to over $500.

Our double room on the 11th floor featured a cracked concrete floor, a chipped support column by the window, and what looked like particle board on the walls with a few leak splashes. The furniture included a very low single mattress bed wedged tightly between two walls and a desk. My partner had to crawl over me to get out of the bed at night to use the restroom. If you are old, infirm or have bad knees be forewarned. If you want to spend time in the room one of you will be on that bed since there is only one chair. Other furniture looked as if it had been constructed and hastily painted by the inmates. The hotel appears to want to present itself as hip and trendy but the decor speaks college dorm.

The rooftop bar was fun. We enjoyed dinner at Loam the restaurant in the hotel. The employees in both were friendly and efficient although the kitchen was very slow.

The neighborhood is not one to walk in. Take an Uber.

You can’t beat this property. It’s got grit, with comfort, and character like an acoustic guitar in your room. The entertainment schedule for “Upstairs” is going to bring you happiness and fun…everything from a sound bath on Sunday around the rooftop pool to awesome DJs Wednesday and Thursday night. Prepare to get after it Friday and Saturday nights with bigger promotion and shoulder to shoulder crowds. While exiting the hotel one evening, I came face to face with Owen Wilson walking into the United Artist Theater for a movie preimer.

If I could develop a boutique hotel today, and lead a staff of great people, this property is doing everything right in front of the house without any detection of back office. The range of staff character is incredible. The food and drinks menus are excellent, the restaurant and bar are intimate, with great music and energy =vibes. The coffee bar is so damn convenient as you leave the elevator.

The proximity to great places that are walking distance; LA Kings, LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Orpheum Theater, Zinque Cafe, Air Jordan Store, Cole’s Speak Easy, other rooftops, restaurants and bars but the Ace Hotel is an epic place to stay and return everytime. Enjoy being social and spend at least a day in the rooftop pool (I met a cool couple from Colombia during the day, three sweet and gorgeous Brazilian bikini clad ladies in the hot tub at night) and workout in the solid gym too.

All old friends from high school, University and two decades of friends living in LA were excited to visit me at The Ace Hotel. I also met one of the coolest woman of my life from Boston/NYC/Charleston- in the neighborhood at Sugarfish- that was also staying at Ace Hotel. I met another beautiful woman from Israel at the upstairs bar on a mellow night, she invite me to do laundry with her on the fourth floor…can’t make this stuff up. Make sure you give cash gratitude to all staff for cleaning rooms, making coffee, giving local advice, making drinks and everything else that’s done great at this property. Enjoy!

Staying in DTLA on Broadway is an interesting choice. I found that the Ace hotel is the best at a few things. First the location and building. What a great place right at 100 years old the history is very impressive. Second the coffee bar in the morning is a must stop. Had 2 cups every morning on their sidewalk patio and cocktails on the rooftop at sunset. I didn’t have a car and you really don’t need one at this location. So it’s interesting that the one person who helped me the most was the valet manager
Champagne. She was very helpful at directions and restaurant recommendations. You have to let her know you have eaten at LOAM or/and Rooftop then she will give you great choices. Over the weeks there she would have the biggest smile and greatest attitude even at 7:00 am. I was very impressed to see her handle the flow of traffic for valet parking on nights of shows in the United Artist’s Theater. So if you are in need of a great hotel and best location Ace is the place stop in for a great time on Rooftop with a glass of champagne at sunset and stop by and say hello to Champagne you won’t be disappointed with either

Everything was amazing! The room, the bar, the people.
No one likes feeling rushed . I asked for a late checkout and they assured me I would be bothered by anyone trying to get into the room. Well they failed. I was in the middle of packing my stuff and a man shows up wanting to clean my room. I felt so rushed and foolish because they told me I should be fine. I remember seeing my Celine sunglasses on the bed but the man knocking and opening the door through me off. I just felt embarrassed and felt I had to leave now!! Other than that. I would stay here again

Our hotel does not offer onsite parking. We suggest using the Athena parking facility, conveniently located at the corner of 9th and Hill St. The standard rate for 24 hours is $25.00, which does not include in-and-out privileges.
