The place is quaint and cute. It was fairly quiet and the room was clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Juan at the front desk was very nice and helpful. He locked my bag up the next day after I checked out while I was out and about. Would totally stay here again.

Hollywood Boulevard has a problem. It is a draw for first responders and idiots. One night we woke up five times to the sounds of passing sirens. Other nights there would be only one siren event. When there were no sirens, there were idiots who wanted to play their music at full volume at the stop light outside the motel. This happened on two nights. This noise pollution problem may be shared by the two other nearby motels / motor inns. The website said they had refrigerators in the rooms. This isn't always true. We planned to use the fridge to keep breakfast milk and leftovers cold. When we arrived, the room didn't have one. However, they did find one, and also found a working coffee maker. Since we were waking up at 3 AM, having breakfast in our room was critical to our plan. The front desk clerk had difficulties with words in english, but managed to get his messages across. The Lazy Farmer grocery store has a wonderful salad bar, and a hot foods buffet. It is in easy walking distance from the hotel. Ralph's is a more traditional grocery store, and is on the corner of Western and Hollywood. Parking is an extra $10 per visit, which was not mentioned on the website. …

Great little spot, Clean and good location. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean. Parking is a flat fee for the whole stay. Hollywood, Echo Park, Downtown are all a short distance away! Had no issues!

I've been to several motels in Hollywood and this one is the best so far, clean room, comfortable beds, nice movie atmosphere, the parking is internal and with a gate which makes you feel safe, I haven't tried the swimming pool, you can easily reach it from here the walk of fame and the observatory

Upon arrival the room was a decent size and spotlessly clean, receptionist was friendly and helpful despite not speaking much English. I found the area just outside the hotel to be safe enough, further along the road it was a bit dodgy but we mostly travelled by Uber so didn't have much trouble. Within walking distance to the Hollywood Walk of Fame which was good. Street noise was quite loud but that's to be expected for a central hotel, we slept okay most nights. My only complaint would be that I travelled with three friends and we were sharing beds with two in each and the beds felt quite small. Other than that though we had a good stay and I would return in the future.

Loved the Downtowner , very clean and updated motel that feels like old hollywood, our room looked out onto the pool and hanging flower baskets , the housekeeper did an excellent job and refilled all of the shampoo/conditioner/soap and makeup remover wipes(nice touch) . The staff were very nice and professional . I like the coffee makers and coffee filters in the room but the front desk gentleman said you could also enjoy coffee in the lobby that he said was really good. This was our first time at the Downtowner as we have stayed at another motel closer to the walk of fame but started to feel a little unsafe, The downtowner has a security gate to get into the parking area as well as the front entrance that could only open with a room key so we felt quite safe . Being on Hollywood blvd. there is sirens and sometimes loud music coming from the odd car but a quick stop at the front desk and they gave us some earplugs which really did the trick . I will definitely be returning to this little gem . …

Great hotel! Location is fantastic, close to metro to get around LA. Staff were so helpful and room was clean. My only fault is the noise from the road and our room was right at the table and chairs where other residents sat and chatted quite late into the night making it hard for us to sleep. Next time we visit I would be requesting a room to the rear of the property.

Airconditioner was very loud and spat water out. No handwash or conditioner provided in the bathroom and there wasn't anywhere to put anything in the bathroom (no bench space or cupboards). The pool seats were hard and uncomfortable. When I checked out was asked if housekeeping chatted to me about stains on the towels which they hadn't. They said I wasn't charged but were letting me know for next time. I asked if it was in regards to some foundation or mascara on the hand towel but reception didn't know. It is totally normal for some make up to end up on facetowels. Never in my 20 years of travelling has any hotel ever brought this up, ever. We didn't have room service during our 5 night stay so how did they know about the towels? Location is around 45 minutes to walk into Hollywood Walk of Fame past many homeless people which is not a nice walk as we saw multiple people smoking pipes in their tents. I would not walk around at night in this location. Pros: let us store our luggage before check-in, reception open 24 hours, free filtered water in reception, parking available for $10 a stay in locked section.…
