I arrived in Los Angeles around 6:00 am. I arrived at the hotel around 7:00 and I was able to check in early. Of of the thibgs I like about this hotel is that customers doesnt have to wait until the standard check in time in order to be given a room.

I wasn't expecting the ritz Carlton but only a blind man would rate this a 3*, even still that's a bit of a stretch. The comforter was so worn it had snags and had stains on it, there were scratches and stains on the walls, and the hotel staff was extremely not helpful or interested in checking me in. And... More

I read some awful reviews and, honestly, I don't understand what all the fuss was about. The service was great. The room was clean and I had a nice stay. The room smelled a bit like industrial cleaner and the furniture looked well used but the bed was comfortable and the place was spotless. I'd say the only issue I... More

Ok...I realize that this isn't a posh 5-star hotel, BUT it was perfect for our stay. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. There was plenty of water pressure for a great shower. Each room has a refrigerator and microwave. We slept well! It was surprisingly quiet for being right on Hollywood Blvd. The air conditioner provided good... More

I'm from Sydney, Australia and I stayed at the Dixie Hotel for 2 nights during my 3rd trip to the states. I was travelling with my then 12 year old son. This accommodation was perfect for us as it had parking right outside our room door. (But I also noticed it was only minutes walk to the nearest train station... More

This hotel describes itself as a three star, but I would be hard pressed to describe it as a 1 star. It was very expensive place to stay in. The photos on the website must have been taken some time ago as the room we stayed in did not reflect them. The walls were paper thin we could hear telephone... More

The Dixie is very nicely located in Thai city of LA, just steps from the Metro entrance. The hotel has a good number of rooms, 2 floors, just enough parking spaces for all the guests and fair prices. The room was clean, non smoking, had a fridge, microwave, coffee, hair dryer and an iron. Also the pool looked very clean(sadly it... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
