Nice, clean and quiet. Its a park with movie history and we loved to stay there. Its a bitt from LA and Hollywood but take a Uber. Its Cheap and you are quickly downtown. Very nice and helpfull staff. Thanks from us

We took the Über to the nearest bus station, which eventually brings you to Hollywood (switch to subway halfway). Nearest bus stop is still quite a walk, especially with children. We also took an Über to Santa Monica... More

We never saw any tents. I would just call Balboa and ask. It's not really a great place for a tent; you'd be better in some coastal campground. The surfaces at Balboa are astro turf and concrete.
