To be honest this is my first review on Tripadvisor, but I felt compelled to write a review to provide some insight. First off the pros, great location, great views from the room. I thoroughly enjoyed the room itself, definite COVID restrictions but that was expected -- a welcome plus was they allowed cigars on the outdoor lobby floor which turned out to be nice. Now let me get to what made this trip regrettable, I had booked through AMEX Platinum and was planning the $100 Food and Beverage credit into the calculus because I knew COVID would limit options; upon check-in I found out this property did not consider alcohol part of the "beverage" option for this credit, no big deal, decided to cancel dinner plans to not let the benefit go to waste -- absolute worst meal I've ever had, I honestly feel I got robbed without the stick up. I kinda brushed off the 6" diameter nasty pizza, the ridiculous veal dish which was $40 and was like 4 pieces of lunchmeat, but I had a bit of the rice that came with it and when it tasted completely uncooked I was beside myself. Good thing thing we had stopped at All About the Bread for lunch and had leftovers.. $190 for a meal which should have cost $25 in real life. I understand hotel dining, but this was absurd and a new level of ridiculous. I've been to the property in NYC and it was great, but I feel like I literally was robbed at this location. If you stay here do yourself a favor, don't book through AMEX with any hotel credit, enjoy the views, grab a bottle of wine from the next door Ralph's and bring some In-n-Out to your balcony..…
Stayed at Mr. C over Labor Day and loved it. This was my first stay at a Mr. C property. The suite I stayed at was really cool and and well appointed. The views were incredible and very LA. Get a room facing the Hollywood Hills. I could see from Century City to the Hollywood sign to downtown LA. Just spectacular! The interior design of the entire hotel definitely caught my attention. The location was perfect... close to the Beverly Hills business district - Rodeo Drive, anyone?!!!! - which made it even more enticing for me to pick this property. Given the fact that we are in COVID times, traveling can be a little strange at first. During my stay at Mr. C, I felt 100% comfortable and safe as they seemed to have taken care of every safety precaution possible according to the CDC guidelines. Paid a couple of visits to the Cipriani Restaurant on premise and, of course, it never disappoints. The restaurant was open from Thursday-Saturday only due to adjusted hours. Room service was delicious too and comes from same kitchen I suppose ;) Obviously there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Just ask Chloe and Murad at the front desk / concierge for recommendations on restos and things to do. Those guys were not only amazing in every level but they also know the hottest spots in LA. The gym was closed during my stay but there are plenty of beautiful streets around the hotel that you can walk or jog through. I always find that a great way to know a city a little better and I did. You can also spend time at the hotel pool. Last but not least, shout out to Cathy for assisting me with the booking. Great stay overall and I would definitely stay there again! …
Room was bright and airy, great view! Service at front door was great. Disappointed that the spa was not open due to COVID< but otherwise very enjoyable. Great location, near all the kosher restaurants!
Chloe(Khloe) at the from desk tried to racial profile me, and deny me of stay even after my card was charged and showing her proof. Tried to imply that my American Express platinum card was fake or I was doing “fraud”, when I pulled out my American Express gold she asked why didn’t I use “that one instead”. Was VERY unprofessional and did now know how to handle the situation properly. I am a federal government employee and do not have any reason to use fake cards or use anyone else account. Did not use any of my American Express perks at the hotel due to being uncomfortable.
We visited Mr. C’s to get out of town for a few days unfortunately from the welcome Balenie to the quality of the food service we were very disappointed in the little extras that could’ve been done to work around the pandemic restrictions. There is really no excuse for the quality of the food not being up to Mr. C’s standards, or charging room service fees for coffee, it’s the little touches that makes Mr. C’s a special place. There are ways to work around the limitations which clearly were budget driven not to go the extra step.
