The area is nice, quiet and safe. There are a lot of restaurant with in walking distance. Our room was spacious and had big bathroom as well. The wifi connection was good. The only tiny hassle was that if you go out and come back after 21h you need to call them in order to open the entrance door for... More

I think expectations are everything. We wanted a simple hotel-- clean, good location, safe. We got that at the Shelter. Nothing fancy but overall quiet and clean. We got 2 joining rooms for my family of 5. We wanted to do the whole Korea town experience and everything is very close. Very pleased with our stay. We would definitely come... More

The room is rather spacious but had a musky smell; not too much of a problem though. Room is clean and with a king bed. All booking sites states free parking but not anymore. Hotel charges $10 per day. Parking garage gate closes 9pm every night so be prepared to call the reception to open the gate (roaming charges? Or... More

Decent stay for the price we paid. The property looked maintained . Some reviews stated it was in a bad neighborhood. But it really wasn't all too bad. We walked to a really good Korean BBQ restaurant which was only about 2 blocks away. I highly recommend it. (Kang Ho-Dong Baekjeong Korean BBQ ) You can get to the lobby(1st... More

Nice hotel, good located, but they charge triple parking fee than announced and booked car size as reason, but no diffrent parking slots, so no logic behind. The room is ice and clean but smells awfull , first after desinfectant later after old muddy water, air condition is extremly loud even from neighbor rooms, a challenge to sleep. Hotel finally... When I checked into my room, it had been recently sprayed with a pleasant spicy aroma. For me that means a migraine in the near future. When I called the front desk, they immediately gave me another room that was fragrance free. I will return to The Shelter. It's clean, modern and comfortable without a lot of frills (no water... I stayed at the Shelter hotel for one night and the hotel has not much to offer. Yes, you are staying in Ktown, surrounding by apartments and residential housing. In fact, the Shelter hotel seems like a once old down studio apartment building converted in a hotel building. You still get the apartment vibe, from the elevator, to the window,... More

Booked a last minute stay here because the price point and free parking (which was the best part about the hotel). Room was not what I anticipated. Hardly any amenities. Apparently I got one of the last rooms that has not been renovated. Very bare bones. But bed was comfortable

Manager and staff were great. They were very helpful in local recommendations and information. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Free parking was HUGE, actually any parking in LA is huge. Loved the loungy laid back vibe.
