I’m staying at W Hollywood during the last weekend of August. The hotel concierge, specifically Velma has helped me plan out my entire trip, I have restaurant reservations for every meal during my stay thanks to Velma. I also made several calls over the last week in the late hours and Robert on the Whatever Whenever line has been superb. He is very knowledgeable of the city and the bar scene. This is my first Vacation in a few years due to covid, I am in town for the Killers concert with my best friend - super excited for the stay, thanks again Velma and Robert for a excellent first impression!
Apart from check-in, this hotel was a disappointment. Room was very tired and grubby, during day could find no staff to help. Instead they were “hidden” inside little rooms. Not at all customer friendly. No service in bar area and on leaving the reception didn’t even ask how our visit was. The area is very grubby and my son felt very unsafe.
This hotel is a joke. Yes the lobby is very fancy and the pool on the 12th floor is great too. The rooms are dirty and need modernising ours was next to the gym which is open 24 hours a day. Not great to hear the treadmill vibrating through your room at midnight. Good location for Holly walk of fame etc. I would have given this hotel 3 stars for the pool area . However I am disgusted because I paid the $500 deposit on my card when I checked in and then the hotel took another £667 and now another $41. I have been asking for them to refund it since the 04th and now they are saying it could take up to a week as it is down to my bank. So the hotel owes me over $1100. I’m in holiday from the Uk and I’m grateful I have another credit card with my but this amounts to theft . If I didn’t have another card this could potentially ruin the last few days of my holiday leaving me short of money. Not what you expect from a W hotel…
The rooms are filthy and outdated. This location doesn’t live up to the W brand. I asked to switch rooms and all 3 rooms I was given were equally worn and dirty. A colleague also had a similar experience. There are better places to stay in the Los Angeles area.
what a great hotel with a cute rooftop pool area where you can see the Hollywood sign. GREAT location my kids really enjoyed this hotel for their first trip to LA. Great food places around the hotel as well as great breakfast restaurant inside the hotel.
I went to the W for a birthday celebration this weekend. Micaela (hope I spelled that right) checked me in and provided EXCEPTIONAL service. She really listened and helped to make the weekend special. Customer for life because of her and her lovely personality! Thanks so much girl!!!
The overall hotel itself is beautiful, but you can see where there's a little wear and tear. Staff were very friendly. Room service was great as well. The reason why this gets a 3 star is because Marriott quoted a much lesser price when I booked the hotel. When I checked out, I paid $200 more than what was quoted. I even made sure I paid my room service separate to see if that was the discrepancy. Nope that wasn't it, Marriott just charged me more than what they initially stated. I will say that since the Marriott merger 3-4 years ago, the Marriott rewards program is not the same and this is yet another disappointment.
biggest downside to this hotel is that its in hollywood. hollywood is terrible. homeless everywhere, sketchy to walk around, not a ton of great restaurants.....but that being said if you must stay in hollywood, this is a good option. the hotel is nice. pool is a little sceney which is fun. our room felt upgraded and was nice.
Lovely, clean hotel and walking distance to the main Hollywood centre. The iron snd hair dryer were good. Pool area was stunning. Only 3 stars as the air conditioning unit and other strange noises kept us up and no free WiFi. Signal for phone was rubbish in rooms without WiFi.
I checked in after traveling in on very little sleep and Sheen and Micaela were such great welcomers. I felt well taken care of when checking in. They went above and beyond to make my stay extra nice.
