I am wondering if the people who liked this place and I stayed at the same hotel? It is close to LAX, that's about the only benefit, in my opinion. Just to name the main issues - hair on the bathroom floor, no water pressure, hot water never actually comes on, shower head that hardly works, AC that barley cools, the room door design is such that the door can not be closed quietly by hand and can only close on its own, and when it does, it slams so hard, the sound reverbarates across the entire floor, walls that are thin even by hotel standards, coffee maker that is complete garbage, and the crown jewel - $44/night parking. Definitely not ever again.
The H Hotel exceeded our expectations, especially for the reasonable rate with its airport location and quality. The ambience is very modern and stylish, with appropriate connectivity details in the room for the business traveler. Our 7th floor 375+ sq ft room was spacious with a 20-foot ceiling and a double sink. I appreciate the security feature of the elevators that require your room key to access, but it includes the added computer graphic upon entering the floor number to highlight which specific elevator door will be opening; picture when you have 6 elevators watching which one is located at which floor until your door opens – this screen shows exactly which door will arrive first for your entry! Although room service ends at 11 pm, there are ample room delivery options through UberEats, including alcohol delivery (our food arrived in front of our hotel room door at 2 am). Since the H Hotel shares the lobby with Homewood Suites, there is a microwave in the well-stocked market of the Homewood Suites lobby, while our room had a mini-refrigerator under the television. The top floor rooftop lounge is a MUST-see, with excellent views of planes landing along 2 runways and a nice place to relax for some sun. Despite this hotel location’s proximity to the airport, it is so well-constructed that you cannot hear the planes landing.…
My first time staying at this hotel and I loved it. The room was super clean and modern. The bed was comfy O slept like a baby. I like that they even had those rose robots that bring you supplies like toothpaste or towels so you dont have to make contact with anyone which was cool. Its right by the airport which was convenient. I highly recommend and would stay here again :)
I recently redeemed some HHonors points for a five night stay. I usually stay at the Hilton LAX but decided to try a Curio Collection hotel (having not so great and experience at the Sienna Curio). It’s an interesting co-branding with the H Hotel being paired with a Homewood Suites. The room was nice (an upgraded corner king), nice walk-in shower, modern design and bathroom, solid internet, and a slightly funky TV experience. The stand out was the front desk guy who seemed to be on every night, Jose (?). Always present, always aware, always helpful. He alone earned the four stars.
The H Hotel is a recently renovated example amongst the phalanx of dreary airport lodgings along W Century Boulevard. The accommodations are a modest improvement upon nearby others that I’ve used in recent times. The services – albeit considerably truncated by Covid-restrictions were up to expectations and hospitable and the building is reasonably well insulated from the incessant airport clamour. The airport shuttle arrangements worked well for me. The good: my Deluxe King room (1105) was modern, clean, comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Almost everything expected was there and what there was worked as expected. The king bed was comfortable, the linens crisp and clean and there were enough pillows to find a favourite. The bathroom was roomy, modern, well equipped and the plumbing worked well. The bath linens were plush and plentiful. The front desk and restaurant (well, take out) staff that I came in contact with were polite, helpful and accommodating. The not so good: it’s hard to complain about the services because the usual Covid constraints mean that there’s very little on offer. However, there is no microwave which would have been handy when the only dining arrangements are takeout. The bathroom mirror which is lit and, presumably, heated from behind issued all manner of weird and erratic clunking noises which were very difficult to source at first. Even with the lights off the spooky bathroom cacophony continued for some time. The upshot: I will return.…
