I chose Homewood Suites as an Honors member for the proximity to the airport. In their introduction, they invite guests to have more time to relax as they are 5 minutes from the airport terminals. As we had a 24 hour layover, and didn’t want to run around LA in the middle of Covid, we chose the hotel for its room size and small kitchen. We arrived at 12:30pm and were told it would be $60 to get into our room early. And they meant it. They didn’t let us in till 4 on the dot. No complimentary half hour early release into the room that probably was clean by noon. The lobby was empty and we sat watching stuff on our phones and reading, as we would have been doing in the room, so our choice, but considering how much we’d spent on the room in our loyalty program, I was surprised at the extremely subpar check in experience. (There were a few interactions- Internet access, getting a restroom key - that left me feeling more like a homeless interloper than a valued guest waiting to check in to her suite.) Then, to add insult to injury, when inquiring about the shuttle service to the airport so I could plan my morning, they have no schedule and instead of saving ones time so I could “spend less time in travel mode” as they promise on their website, they wanted me to come down an hour (!!!!!) before I wanted to be at the airport (2 hours before my flight). So, they get an epic fail at customer service and breaking the fundamental promise of why I chose this hotel (out of the dozens of choices) and I am making this promise to you, Hilton. I’m done staying in your hotels. Train your people to be kind and accommodating to their guests. Till then, I’ll check out some other hotels.

We do have a posted check in time of 4pm, and while we do everything we can to make guest suites available earlier, we cannot guarantee them available for early check in. Our airport shuttle runs on a constant loop, 24 hours per day, without a posted schedule. Due to unexpected instances of traffic or delays at the terminals, we suggest our guests come down a little early to ensure they don't miss the shuttle. We hope you will consider staying with us again should your travels bring you back to the LAX area.

Highly recommended! Practically next door to LAX. Spacious suites. There’s even a laundromat onsite. And service is excellent. Miguel who checked me in was highly efficient, professional and helpful. The bartender deserves recognition too, very professional and hardworking.

Same building and share a check-in counter with the H hotel (which I’ve also stayed at). As far as the room: -Suite with living area with 55” flatscreen. -Had a full size kitchen with stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, small dishwasher, coffeemaker. -Bedroom also had 55” tv. Bed was ok. Everything was fine with the room- AC worked well. Was relatively quiet. I’m sure the low occupancy helped in that regard. Was clean. Wifi worked well. Had an in room safe. No complaints with the bathroom. Has hotel shuttle, but is walkable from the airport. A few other hotels nearby, but not much in terms of food choices. Workout facility was still closed due to Covid. Staff was courteous. Didn’t park a car, so can’t comment on parking. Here’s why I can’t give 5 stars. Had comp breakfast for Diamond members. Just a ‘Breakfast On The Go’ bag from their ‘Waypoint Restaurant’ that consisted of a bagel, apple, OJ, and coffee. Was suppose to be a granola bar in there but wasn’t. Pretty pathetic. Valued at $10 on the menu (there’s no way that should be $10). The wraps and omelettes ranged were fron $15 to $19. I would have rather had $10 towards that, and considering pre Covid Diamond got comp hot breakfast at every Hilton property I’ve stayed (I’ve got hundreds of stays at every type) Diamond should get $15 to $20 towards a hot breakfast. On top of that, there’s really no where else close by to walk to to get breakfast..

We booked our stay through a 3rd party vendor not fully aware of the amenities, or the lack thereof, offered by this hotel. Nor did we know from the hotel name that this is Homewood Suites by Hilton, so we drove past it a few times until we smartened up. Upon arrival we were advised that there is an additional charge of $44.00, per night, to park our car in Joe’s parking garage. Of course it’s too late at this point. This is outrageous as there is no other available parking, you are a captive “customer”. The hotel itself appears to be fairly new and very well maintained. Yes, it’s near the airport and somewhat noisy, but that’s to be expected. With Covid there is no dine in option but limited room service is available at a premium cost. They have also been instructed to forgo daily-stay over cleaning services, and the swimming pool is closed. More missed amenities but they haven’t lowered their room rates for less services. We tried using the in-room coffee machine and it was horrible. The in-room refrigerator was helpful in keeping drinks cool. The area is also not 1 in which you would feel secure walking around at night, however, there is security at the hotel. There is a Subway & Coffee Shop with Krispy Kreme Donuts & more, located in the building. Overall, I found it to be a bit pricey for what you get. Hey, it’s Los Angeles and they can charge these kind of rates. I hope you find this review helpful in making your next travle plans.

I pulled this folded blanket out from the top of the closet and it was soiled with feces. I called the front desk and told them my what happen, they only offered late checkout. I called back and asked for corporate’s number they hung up in my face. I went down to the front desk, they ONLY gave me 20% of a dirty room and free parking. I’m not satisfied!!
