Room 421, stayed 4 nights. Sept-Oct 2022. On arrival, we parked the car within the premises so we could check in then had to move the vehicle to a secure road behind the hotel which looked deserted/ shabby. On first appearance we thought the room was ok but we had been driving for 5 hours and only dropped the luggage into the room and went out to site see. On returning for our first nights sleep, we noticed 2 dried blood patches on the bed sheets. We checked out the rest of the room and noticed there was also hair in the bath plug, bathroom floor and bathroom bin. The fridge smelt like a mouldy cucumber and was dirty. There was a broken lamp in a cupboard. The TV sound kept playing up. We had only half a toilet roll only and no extras like you normally have in hotels. We highlighted the blood/ hair issue to an employee who was disgusted and immediately rectified the issue but also went on to call the cleaner stupid which I felt was inappropriate. We would’ve been happy with an apology and that they would investigate internally. We also had to ask for WiFi codes as these were not given at check in (which wasn’t an issue) and are unique to each user. We were provided 2 x 48hr codes. When these ran out, we asked for another 2 codes and the guy at reception was so defensive exclaiming he had already given us 5 days worth of codes (which he hadn’t) but reluctantly gave us new ones. There was a smoking room next to ours and smoking area outside the room also which seeped a strong smell of smoke into our bathroom/ bedroom often. One evening it was pretty cold and we tried to turn the heater on but this smelt like fire so we had to turn this off promptly. No one asked on check out if we were happy with our stay, they didn’t seem to care at all. It was an older gentlemen who took in our room keys and dealt with the WiFi situation. Pros - Location (1 block from Hollywood Boulevard) - Affordability Cons - Rude staff - Dirty property - Smelly - Insufficient parking spaces - Lack of working equipment - No plugs for sink or bath tub This hotel has so much potential. It needs a bit of TLC and some modernising to make this a really wonderful place to stay. Dependant on your tolerance levels, it is bearable as long as you don’t intend to stay in the room all day.…
My husband and I stayed here over night catching an early morning flight to Honolulu. We picked this location because we didn’t have a lot of time to explore and this was close to the Hollywood Strip. I didn’t think (but boy was I wrong that) we didn’t need anything fancy for one overnight stay. We’ve stayed in motel 6’s before and had restful sleep. Let me stress, I’m giving this 2 stars because the staff was very nice. Everything about this hotel was definitely not my cup of tea. Parking was very crowded, cars in sardine cans. Every time we needed to leave, it took at least 10 minutes backing the car in and out trying not to hit other cars in the squeezed parking area, rails, building, pillars, vending machine! Omgosh! Our room was right across from the office. The rooms smelled like Cannabis and this gave me such a bad headache. The walls were very thin. The up stairs guest was up all night talking very loud with his TV on. The doors were not insulted and drafty. You could see the light come through the side and threshold. I heard people walking up and down the stairs, sirens, traffic, honking all night as if I was sleeping outside. We found cockroaches crawling in the bathroom and walls!!!! We made sure our luggages were closed and even bought large garbage bags to tie our luggages up. The caulking in the Bathroom was disgusting. Several layers and different sizes. There were a lot of old stains. The table was full of dust. Not too sure what was going on, but the ambulance took someone who was loitering out side of our door to the hospital at 4am in the morning as we were getting ready to catch our flight. Thankfully they left before we needed too. The exit and entry of the parking lot only fits one car coming in or out. My night was pretty much RESTLESS! I did sleep like a baby on the plan so our flight to Hawaii was short. That was the only good thing to say, if that even counts. I would much rather sleep at the airport or my rental car than stay here again.…
A great place to stay with great staff and manager who was very accommodating and extremely helpful. We needed an earlier check in and we got into the room at 12:30pm instead of 3pm without any extra charge. The room was comfortable as were the beds and the shower was amazing The price was great other than the added charge of $20 per day for parking which was not included in the room rate. However, all in all a great place to stay and an even better location where we are close to almost everything and right in the heart of Hollywood I would definitely stay there again if I needed to Highly recommend
Travelling to the US from Australia is very expensive so was great to find this low cost motel. Large room, comfy beds and great shower. Staff were happy and helpful. Great location on sunset Blvd- one block from hollywood Blvd
This is the perfect location, just a block from Hollywood and Highland Metro (and the Walk of Fame, Madam Tuasaud's etc) with connections to DTLA and NoHo. The motel was comfortable and felt safe and was clean. Great value for money.
Located within walking distance to Hollywood Walk of Fame and just 3 miles from Universal Studios. Other than that just a basic motel. Room was decent enough. Did not face any issues on our short stay. No elevator. In case you have luggage, ask for room on ground floor.
Bedbugs on my bed , I took pictures and video of it ! The manager denied it ! Then he went to my room and killed the bedbug!! Bedbug’s blood was in the sheets, then the manager threatened my little sister in law , because she was recording all! He refused to refund my money ! I had to stayed in another hotel !! I just wasted my money !! WiFi was $8 per day!! No free wifi !! $14 parking per day ! Disgusting place !!!
Sometimes budget level hotels workout and sometimes they don't. This one has a great location. The manager was very helpful. The Hollywood Guest Inn treated me well. If you're with a family I would not recommend this hotel (pay more for what you need), if you're single or young couple looking for a deal it's a great place. You might need to park in the back as front space is limited.
My main two concerns with staying in Hollywood ~ Must be clean. Must be safe. I arrived quite late to my room, and was a little concerned about the neighborhood behind the hotel, as I missed turning into the entrance and had to go around the block. I definitely would not have wanted to walk around back there alone. There was also a small homeless camp set up just outside the front of the hotel, which I did have to walk past a couple different times of the day and night. For all my concern, however, I didn't encounter any trouble, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Parking was a bit of a chore, I was tucked behind the building in a gated garage area. Very narrow, very tight. I wasn't too happy with the charge for parking, as I hadn't seen it anywhere on the reservation page, $18 a day. At the least it was gated, my car was safe for the duration of my stay. Cleanliness. The carpet was very dated and could definitely use a shampoo, or maybe even to be changed out. The bed was, well, sleepable. Very bouncy. Just a sheet and very thin bedspread on the bed. I had left the fan on at night, to help drown out the street noise on Sunset Blvd, and woke up frozen with not much in the way of blankets to keep me warm. Otherwise the room was clean. Dated, but clean.…
Be ready to pay for everything. Parking $18 a night, wifi $8 a night, small bucket ice $0.50, no coffee maker, no microwave, no breakfast bar or any type of fruit/drinks, rude staff and manager. No respect for those sleeping. We choose here since it was close to most major attractions but not worth the price. Our room was larger than expected but dirty with trash in drawers. We can hear traffic noise all hours of day and night. If you add the extras you normally would receive at a Hilton or Sheraton it would be about the same price. NOT WORTH STAYING HERE..!!
