The minute you step into reception you'd be put off, cobwebs, dust, reception office you look straight into is a pigsty. Electrical wires tied together everywhere, scary. Very friendly young Asian checkin guy. Room was large enough but air con very noisy. Large new tiled bathroom in room fridge no tea/coffee making, had to ask for coffee at reception, they... More

My brother booked this as a place for a couple of nights on the way to Las Vegas as he wanted to see LA. The location is perfect for Hollywood Walk of Fame, the bars and clubs of Sunset Strip and to get the hop on hop off bus (do the red and yellow lines and you see everything you... More

The only thing is its round the corner from the strip. Otherwise, rooms are basic, decor is dated, pool is tiny, housekeeping non existent, security is questionable, aircon noisy as are the neighbours Stay for the proximity to walk of fame but not for long

If you're staying in Hollywood and need a cheap room, I think it'd be hard to beat this place. It's only a block to Hollywood Blvd. and the Walk of Fame. It's a short three blocks to the Chinese Theater. It's about the same distance to The Magic Castle. For a budget hotel near everything you'd want to do in... More

The location is good near one end of the walk of fame. I don't know how well they clean because there was a bottle cap on the floor and a dry towel over the shower. Parking was good under the hotel. The hotel wasn't much to look at, but it served its purpose and the bed was comfortable.

That is one of the worst joints I stayed in. !! The place is shady, staff unfriendly. The relatively least unfriendly clerk was so because he was sleeping when we had arrived. They have parking but its little tricky to get in. Room was bad small and not clean. Cords running along the walls. The electrical switchboard was in the... More

Overall, the room was clean and comfortable. Parking was free and private, so there was no worries about our vehicle being broken in to, but it was very difficult to get in and out of (many cars packed into a very small area). The hotel staff was not the least bit friendly. But no complaints about the room at all.

The proximity to major attractions may or may not make up for the somewhat dilapidated rooms and about 3 channels on the TV. Too cold to use the pool so no commentary there. Exceedingly kind fellow checked me into the hotel. The excessive use of disinfectant suggests that things were clean but the odor was overpowering at times. Hot and... More

This place seems to have changed its name since our visit so maybe it's under new management. We stayed for three nights and found the location perfect for our purposes. Very close to many restaurants, the 'walk-of-fame', Chinese theatre, the Hollywood and Highland centre, the HOHO and the Metro (with just one stop to Universal Studios etc). The property is... More

It looked a bit sketchy when we got there as there was people hanging out front but once we got our room everything was fine. Wifi and a/c worked good but the tv only had like 5 channels. The bathroom was very big and the best part was the location of the motel only a few minute walk to the... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
