I stayed here on my own, its in a great location for Venice beach and that general area and the rooms were not bad. Most of the reception staff were fine but one lady was exceptionally snarky and rude. I feel like being a hostel worker - you must acknowledge that travelers may have never been to this area before...

It was great. Travelled with my 19 yr old daughter. I will say though, we were supposed to have a female only room and woke up one morning to a guy sleeping in the bed below me. It was a little strange. We still felt very safe though and everyone was helpful and friendly. Loved the breakfast and the planned...

I have stayed here multiple times in 2015 and 2016 in mixed dorms. The location is exactly what I wanted in LA. Close enough to highways to drive downtown or to the airport. Great location to walk along the beach, swim or walk to santa monica pier. Plenty of free parking a block away. The weird gentrified neighbourhood still has...

I arrived in the morning, and the staff was so kind to honor my reservation AND give an extra hour for late check-out. Thanks to the morning staff. It was a great location for very short layovers at LAX. Clean and fun with great staff.

Pro: The staff is absolutely kind and extremely helpful. They also offered activities each day, some for free and some not. Either way its a great way to meet fellow travellers. The rooms are clean, each bed has their own outlet and a light. The beds were comfy and there were additional large lockers for your belongings. The breakfast is...

Located right on the Venice beach boardwalk, location was great during the day! At night it gets a little questionable outside, with a large portion of the homeless population gathering pretty close to the entrance of the hostel. It was super secure, they were adding in a new security system during our stay as well.

I arrived at this place at night and really felt unsafe due to numerous homeless and dealer at the door. However the guy that checked me in was nice and welcomed me but when I discovered my room it was a complete mess. Cloths everywhere on the ground, alcohol... the rOom was also really cold. Anyway I quickly took a...

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Sorry that your roommates forgot that it was a shared space and should be kept clean! Please let one of our 24 hour staff know of an area that needs our attention. Hopefully our security measures - night watch, 24 hour staff and secured entry helped alleviate some of...

You look at the rooms online. You are under the impression from the looks on the Internet, it is a decent sized room. It's actually the size of a jail cell, enough room for only you and your mate. It's cold AF in the room with no way to control the temperature. YOU HAVE TO SHARE THE BATHROOM. They have...

Hopefully this...

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
