The staff was laid back, but on every task. Comfort is definitely priority and they took time to gather everyone for activities coordinated by the hostel. I'll be staying there again ASAP. Thanks Samesun.

This hostel is everything I wanted it to be. The staff was great, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. The best part about this hostel is the location. Being right on Venice Beach, you have access to an endless amount of activities. Definitely will return in the future.

Due to my very very short stay-just only 12 hours -I can honestly say: The best recommendations for Samesun Venice Beach is it´s location! It is very close to the beach and this was my reason for choosing. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was okay.

The room had more amenities than I expected, the key one being the private bathroom. I didn't stay in one of the dorms, but the place seemed pretty quiet after 22:00 so provided your comfortable sleeping around others, seems like a good budget alternative.

Great view of the beach, not far from lax and Santa Monica pier. Lots of bars in the area. But watch out for souvenir shops, they are a ripoff and they cheat customers. Free breakfast was not that impressive. All they had was some bread and pancakes.

I stayed here for a night. Its clean, cozy and the breakfast options are good. Another good thing is the proximity to the beach. People were friendly there. Although, given I arrived around midnight and I initially felt the area as unsafe, it took me a couple of minutes to find the entrance of the place. They do a good...

Bathrooms are clean and really comfortable, the position is good, right on Venice Beach skate park. Thy rooms are really small and busy for 8 people, that means not enough space for walking and moving.

Great location right in Venice beach. Place has pleasant staff. The rooms however (at least mine) are pretty awful. They are super small without a window to the outside. So the air gets really stale. They also dont have that great innovation of power points inside lockers. Common areas are just OK. Not really place you'd want to hang out....

I honestly have no complaints at all. Everything was great. I appreciated the staff friendliness and made a lifelong friend. Make sure you make time to see the sunset! You get a perfect view. It's a great location.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hostel is in a prime location and the rooms are reasonably priced. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and I made new friends. I would definitely recommend this place if you are travelling alone. The hostel has cool activities every night so you will definitely not be bored.

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
