So, this is like a 2 or 3 star hotel. Didn't realize that Janis Joplin died in the hotel, so that's of interest, but the place hasn't changed really since then. I mean the lobby is nice and modernized, but the room I had was straight out of the 70s. The roof was also leaking water and the staff didn't...

I originally found this hotel because it hosted an art fair. I liked the art, but at the same time was really impressed with the hotel and its staff. SoI booked a room for my son and daughter-in-law when they came into town recently. We all had a fantastic time. My son and daughter-in-law stayed in a second story one-bedroom...

To start off, we were initially welcomed into the hotel and provided our room, which did not have a working air conditioner and was not what we requested online. We went back to the desk and explained the situation. The desk clerk worked hard and on the second attempt got us a room that was decent, but we didn't get...

We arrived at the Highland Gardens for a two night stay. We booked the hotel because of it's convenient location. They have a underground garage and there is no charge to use it. It's within easy walking distance to Hollywood Blvd. The hotel is extremely deceiving from the photos they have posted. They spent large amounts of money upgrading the...

So, admittedly, the first day we got to the hotel a little late (approx. 10pm) - we were driving north from San Diego for a stint at Universal for a couple of days. This hotel looked adorable and charming on the website, and they had halfway decent reviews, and they were perfectly priced - I thought it would be a...

Arriving late - in good faith - my daugther and I checked in at Highland Garden Hotel 7047 Franklin Avenue, Hollywood 17th of October 2016. Reception area looked OK and we were positive and optimistic. We got a studio which were beyond any description. A dirty and shabby room where no one could stay - even for a shorter time. Paint...

We stayed 3 nights and it was the first hotel on our first trip to the US. The location was fantastic as we could easily walk to the main attractions. The gardens are nice. The reception staff did not seem to want to interact with guests. We are non-smokers and there always seemed to be people smoking along the main...

When I booked the hotel, I read the reviews written by members here. What I'd retain is the issue of cleanliness, not that the rooms are not clean but they need refurbishing and you can find insects. However, the staff were quite pragmatic I have to say, with no hypocrisy, you know the style you see in other hotels "an...

You get what you pay for - and as a traveller who just needs a clean bed, a decent shower and being in close proximity to key places - this hotel was great. Our room was clean. Air con was nice and cold (we arrived in LA to a heat wave). Breakfast was adequate - I work under the theory...
