Situated by Staples Center, on the southwest edge of downtown L.A. proper, it does allow walking access to the city itself (but nobody walks in L.A., right?). The lobby is very open, the carport is super busy, almost 24/7. That there was a Lakers Game and the Kobe tribute coming up in a day, did not help. Once I got into the queue of assistance, the valets and bellhops were on the ball and took care of things. The elites desk was open and I was checked in rather quickly vs. the long line at the rest of the front desk. I was given a corner Jr. Suite that had a great view of Downtown, and at the end of the hallway, no traffic noise. Also, I could not hear any outside noise either, even with the other windows facing highway 101. The room had good separation from entryway to bed area, and lots of room for all my things needed for the weekend. The bathroom was good, and the great JW Aromatherapy products in larger sizes than normal rooms. The pool deck was big, but it was a little chilly to swim in February. The Executive Lounge was just great, almost Asia level of service and much better than many other JW's in the USA. Great breakfast food service. Being it was a weekend, the evening service was not open. The hotel has several restaurants in it and the lobby bar has awesome hot wings. Drinks there are of a shocking price though. The valet car pickup in the basement with it's own waiting area is pretty cool and nice to not be in a mass of humanity upstairs. It was very relaxing and easy going.…
It was better experience than Marriott Riyadh Saudi Arabia. In Riyadh staff was not as pleasant as in Los Angeles, CA and traffic jam was another problem despite separate entrance lane of Marriott Riyadh. I don't know whos fault is this Marriott or city management(Government) there but i suffered traffic jam and stuck there over an hour for just 250-300 meters. I appreciate staff all around JW Marriott Los Angeles, CA and in room service. Thank you JW Marriott
Always nice visit. Quick check in and clean tidy room. Was over the week end so no nigjt lounge but it was ooen for beeakfast. It was nice roomy lounge in 4th floor by pool. Plenty of breakfast itema to choose from.. hotel location is great to wander the city or cab elsewhere.
We stayed here over the weekend and the hotel met our expectations. We used it as a central location for our stay in SoCal and didn’t really explore downtown. All staff we encountered, including valet, front desk, Illy, house keeping, and restaurant were very friendly. I highly recommend the Branzino and Wagyu burger at Glance cafe where you can dine outdoors. The Illy downstairs was also very convenient as the in room coffee is very basic. The JW pool was closed so you use the Ritz pool instead. During our stay the weather was gloomy and chilly but the pool is heated to a reasonable temp. Jacuzzi is closed. There is no food or beverage service at the pool but there are towels, water, and sunscreen. I am Platinum and was not automatically upgraded prior to the stay and had to ask at check in. We booked a Deluxe King room and were upgraded to an Executive King on the 12th floor which is a corner room and is definitely roomier. They didn’t hesitate to upgrade us. The lounge is closed due to Covid so they offer 750pts per day instead which I appreciated. There are two options for parking, self park off site or valet. Self park is about 30$ whereas valet is 49++. We had booked a rate with a per night credit so opted for the valet which was very convenient. We felt safe at the hotel during Covid as masks are required and everyone we saw was in compliance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return if in the area. …
The entire lobby and floor I stayed on reeked of weed. I went downstairs and they did switch my room for me and did provide me an upgrade with my platinum status. I felt that no one wore masks. There were employees enforcing but many customers were not listening. Iron board didnt work and we only had one towel set in the room. Valet took quite some time, I would recommend they hire more people to help with valet services.
