Was average, but the the localization of hotel was great. I missed only own bathroom of the room. Breakfast was enough in the warm summer. :-) It was easy to find parking place nearby also, it was just a couple of minutes to go to a metro station or Union Station.

Location is almost perfect - Main street in San Francisco. Although the neighborhood is not pleasant, it is the downtown itself. The lobby looks very nice, like in a 3-4 star hotel - you would expect the same room quality. The bad part are the rooms - they are tiny and probably could use renovation... The bathroom (if you pay... More

Ok let's be frank this hotel is not the Ritz. It is an older style hotel which has a flashy entrance and lovely staff, but if you wanted the Ritz you'd be paying for it right? We got this hotel as a special on Expedia and paid around $50 a night for a double bed room (the rooms are small,... More

Made a reservation on line on behalf of a friend visiting La. The room rate quoted on line and paid with my credit card was $89.00 per day for three days. When the guest arrived at the Hotel she was informed that no charge has been made against my credit card and that she will have to pay $300.00 for... More

Only 3 of the 12 floors look like the picture, the rest "have not yet been renovated" and they are like a scene out of the saw horror movies. They charge the same for the new and old rooms, so be sure to get something on floors 3 to 6. House keeping is minimal and cleaners don't read the "do... More

Great location, 10 mins (bus 733, that also goes to Santa Monica) from central transport station (Union Square) and Little Tokyo isn't far either (15 mins walk). Very impressive interior as if it was a posh but somewhat old hotel (as it were actually). While the receptionists were professional they weren't too friendly (had the same experience in most of... I stayed here just one evening as the location suited me, I was joining a tour that did not start far from here. The place was good value for money, wifi worked well everywhere, they had a few bits of gym equipment & a nice hotel lobby. The room was different as it was formerly a hotel turned into a... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here and it was great. Rooms were nicely decorated with a sink and some small space for your luggage, tv with cable channels and good wifi. Shared toilets were cleaned regularly and not an issue to use. There was even a communal kitchen so if you wanted to make yourself a drink or snack you... More

The hotel looks incredibly beautiful on the outside and as you walk in to the reception area, it truly looks amazing. Although the staff was not exactly rude, they could have definitely upped their friendliness. You get no information on breakfast, on how to get to the room, etc. I stayed in a private room, but with shared restroom /... More

I was very hesitant on staying here after reading the reviews, but like many others, I gave it benefit of the doubt and booked. On arrival, I was reasonably happy. The lobby is quiet nice, resembling a boutique hotel. My first taste of disappointment was waiting to check in. It took approximately 20 minutes. After paying for my room (which... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
