Detailed Reviews
This was our first stay at The Vick and definitely won't be our last. We stayed in the Gypsy Suite and loved all the intimate details of the space. We loved the huge soaking tub, fireplace, and all the natural light from the stained glass window. We enjoyed dinner at Full of Life Flatbread which was all but a 45 second walk down the street for a fantastic dinner. After we finished eating we headed over to Bodega Los Alamos for a glass of wine by their cute little firepit (Also a short walk) We then took in a nightcap at the 1880 Union Saloon which was located right next door to the hotel. It felt like we had gone back in time to the wild west. The best part was the morning soak in the tub enjoying the fireplace and eating a scrumptious breakfast in our underwear. I would HIGHLY recommend this for couples looking to rekindle a little romance! Almost forgot to mention the staff (Bailey and Denise) we're so sweet and catered to our every need. I can't recommend this place enough.

We stayed in the 1950's room and were so delighted by all of the cool amenities of the room. We loved watching old movies in our Cadillac bed on the projection screen, it felt like we were in a drive in theater! The Japanese soaking tub was incredible to relax in. The themed music was awesome and set the mood of our room and made it extra special. The breakfast here is so delicious, far from just a continental breakfast. We had quiche and muffins with orange juice, coffee and tea one morning and bread pudding and croissants with orange juice, coffee and tea the next morning. I am truly impressed with the detail in the design of the room and the friendly innkeepers. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. We will be coming back to stay in all of the different themed rooms and bringing friends to experience the fun as well.

+1
I brought my daughter and my assistant to this beautiful bed and breakfast to escape the busy city life. We were welcomed with all the love and care by Miss Joannie, the house manager. The Suites are all amazing. We stayed with 4 rooms, The Roman which is our top favorite, The French, The Egyptian and the Gypsy Suites. Our breakfast is gourmet, quiche and yummy croissants, muffins, choices of tea and coffee plus orange juice. If you want to capture good pictures, please bring at least the smallest photo lighting. The staff were friendly and helpful on where to go around Los Alamos and Solvang. We will definitely comeback. Just look at the photos we took for you see how much we enjoyed. Be prepared to dress up for the themes.

I can’t get over how charming, thoughtful and hospitable the B&B is! The rooms are so well done, exceptionally clean and cozy. We stayed in the gypsy suite which far exceeded my expectations. The room had a gorgeous 360 mural and we felt like we were in a Bob Ross painting.
And the innkeepers are great with showing you around, and then letting you have private time (even the breakfast is delivered through a little cubby in the room for maximum privacy). Check in was so easy and everything was clearly communicated.
Also, while the town is small there are a number of really delicious places to eat and lots of wine bars, so it’s definitely a place to come for a few days to unwind and recharge.
I can’t wait to come back to check out the other rooms. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a lovely stay for one night in the Roman Suite. The hospitality was top notch and guidelines were followed to keep everyone "safe". Situated in a quaint town with great food I highly recommend a visit to this lovely mansion with lots of interesting history and decor.

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding and had the best time! We chose the Egyptian room which has its own balcony front and center of the mansion, which was awesome. There is so much attention to detail from the music piped in the room, to the heavy stone door leading in. Breakfast is delivered through a slot in the wall, and the deep jacuzzi tub was lovely.
The manager Rod is so sweet and accommodating, he is a quick phone call away at all times and takes great pride in the building. Would definitely come back next time we're in Los Alamos.

This place is such a wonderful gem and definitely the most unique place I've ever stayed. If you're at all interested, please do NOT hesitate to book - pics don't do it justice because each room in this B&B truly is so special. We loved this place so much we added an extra night!
Each of the rooms is wonderfully and lovingly decorated with so much attention to detail, down to the beautiful murals, hidden details, matching DVDs and music, etc. etc. The ladies who run the inn are so generous and when they saw how much we loved seeing the rooms, they gladly showed us the other rooms in between guests and took the time to share with us all the special things in each room so we could really see how amazing each room is. Breakfast each morning are things like coffee, tea, juice, quiche, which they bring to your room. There is also a cute gazebo in the yard where you can relax, or enjoy breakfast outside if you wish.

I’ve had my eye on the 50’s suite ever since reading an article about unique Californian hotel stays years ago. Last weekend, we finally got to visit for our anniversary. I was worried that I’d built it up too much in my mind … but not at ALL. The Vick completely blew away all of my expectations!!! It was impeccable - everything in that suite was dedicated to the theme, from floor to ceiling. Even the bathroom was to theme! We played the “Greatest Hits of the 50s” CD while we enjoyed the tasty breakfast, and loved watching films on the big screen (“American Graffiti”, “Viva Las Vegas”, “Rebel Without A Cause”). The soaking tub was amazing and unlike any I’d ever seen… and to top it off, there was even a fireplace. Last, but not least, every corner of that suite/tub was SUPER clean.
We absolutely loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat! The only tough part will be figuring out which suite to try next!

My husband surprised me with the Roman suite back in 2021 for us anniversary. We loved it so much we’ve been going back almost every year booking different rooms. We’ve also stayed at the French suite and the Egyptian suite. Each suite is a totally different experience. The attention to detail is amazing, from the murals, to the furniture, the novelty items, even the music and old DVDs were carefully chosen for the room theme. It’s incredible really to think of the time and effort that was thoughtfully put into each suite. The breakfast tray delivered to our room each morning is such a treat! The quiches, stratas, croissants and muffins all taste homemade. Oh and the luxurious soaking tub in the suite! Service is excellent. Rod and his staff are super helpful and friendly. We’ve brought our friends to weekend with us and now they’re hooked too. We’re already planning on the next trip :) I highly recommend! 5 STARS!
