I’ve had my eye on the 50’s suite ever since reading an article about unique Californian hotel stays years ago. Last weekend, we finally got to visit for our anniversary. I was worried that I’d built it up too much in my mind … but not at ALL. The Vick completely blew away all of my expectations!!! It was impeccable - everything in that suite was dedicated to the theme, from floor to ceiling. Even the bathroom was to theme! We played the “Greatest Hits of the 50s” CD while we enjoyed the tasty breakfast, and loved watching films on the big screen (“American Graffiti”, “Viva Las Vegas”, “Rebel Without A Cause”). The soaking tub was amazing and unlike any I’d ever seen… and to top it off, there was even a fireplace. Last, but not least, every corner of that suite/tub was SUPER clean. We absolutely loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat! The only tough part will be figuring out which suite to try next!

Each room transports you to another time and place. The staff is amazing. Perfect getaway for any couple. Each room has a hot tub and fireplace and some have balconies. Each room has secrets that you discover while staying there. A beautiful town and view. A weekend at the mansion melts all your stress away. Better than any place I've ever stayed.

What a wonderful stay at The Vick! It started with a wonderful greeting by the owner Rod, who shared such great information about the hotel and town. The room is just incredible, as so much thought has been put into all of the details. The sunken tub, fireplace and painted murals added so much to this great experience. I hope we can return one day and try another room. I recommend to anyone wanting a different kind of hotel stay, as it is so unique and special!!

This place really is incredible, and the pictures don't do it justice. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. If I'm ever to find myself in the area again, I would definitely love to check out another room. Such a cool experience, highly recommended for sure.

I don't even know where to begin! This is my second time staying at The Vick (first time in 2018 - Gypsy Suite) and I am completely blown away every time. Such a wonderful experience - especially for my birthday mini vacay last month. Easy to book online, great conversations with the owner (Rod) leading up to our stay and a great onsite welcome from our sweet innkeeper Denise. My BF and I stayed in the Egyptian Suite for this trip and it was BEYOND AMAZING...the amount of thought and details that went into this room is unimaginable. There was even a surprise balcony I wasn't expecting, perfect to sip a glass of wine on. The hidden bathroom, HUGE tub for two and warming fireplace made this room officially one of my absolute favorites!! I really could go on & on, but you just need to go there ASAP and experience it for yourself - you won't regret it :)

I brought my daughter and my assistant to this beautiful bed and breakfast to escape the busy city life. We were welcomed with all the love and care by Miss Joannie, the house manager. The Suites are all amazing. We stayed with 4 rooms, The Roman which is our top favorite, The French, The Egyptian and the Gypsy Suites. Our breakfast is gourmet, quiche and yummy croissants, muffins, choices of tea and coffee plus orange juice. If you want to capture good pictures, please bring at least the smallest photo lighting. The staff were friendly and helpful on where to go around Los Alamos and Solvang. We will definitely comeback. Just look at the photos we took for you see how much we enjoyed. Be prepared to dress up for the themes.

To say we were blown away is an understatement! We are locals who were looking for a quick get-away and have always known the Vick was in Los Alamos but never actually stayed there. Man, were we missing out. From our arrival to our departure we felt spoiled. We had the Egyptian Suite and it did not disappoint. Every detail was a delight. Staying in our room was like being transported into a different world. As an added bonus, our bed was even super comfortable...but our good night's sleep could also have been the result of a nice soak in the enormous tub for two. We didn't read the details upon booking to realize that breakfast was included in our stay, and due to a scheduled conflict on our check-out morning we were unable to enjoy the meal. We informed Vanessa (our hostess -- she was amazing by the way) and later that evening we had a call from her stating that the innkeeper had offered to at least provide us with morning coffee service. What a nice touch! Vanessa and the innkeeper were gracious and accommodating and we haven't stopped talking about what a great stay we had. We will definitely be back. Too much fun to only stay once!

What a delightful surprise when we entered the Egyptian-themed room! It was so well done, tastefully and authentically. The vertical, two-seat soaking tub was relaxing. The room spacious, yet cozy, and quiet, with. Lovely fireplace and a balcony. Highly recommend the Victorian Mansion and any of the six theme rooms.

We stayed in the 1950's room and were so delighted by all of the cool amenities of the room. We loved watching old movies in our Cadillac bed on the projection screen, it felt like we were in a drive in theater! The Japanese soaking tub was incredible to relax in. The themed music was awesome and set the mood of our room and made it extra special. The breakfast here is so delicious, far from just a continental breakfast. We had quiche and muffins with orange juice, coffee and tea one morning and bread pudding and croissants with orange juice, coffee and tea the next morning. I am truly impressed with the detail in the design of the room and the friendly innkeepers. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. We will be coming back to stay in all of the different themed rooms and bringing friends to experience the fun as well.
