Stayed here the night before and after my cruise out of Long Beach with my girlfriend. Super nice staff and everyone was very friendly. Would definitely refer my family and friends. Walkability was great as well.

This place is perfect if you’re a traveler like me. One who gets homesick fairly quickly. After traveling cross country from Detroit, and staying in various traditional, stuffy, sterile hotels along the way, Hotel Royal was breath of fresh air. Apartment style hotel room with a real bathtub, actual windows that open, a TV with Roku where you can watch all the stuff that you normally watch at home. It’s within walking distance of any bar/restaurant/shopping. We truly enjoyed our stay. Props to the owners.

Checking in/out was a breeze, I had zero issues. The staff responded very quickly to any questions I had. The room and bathroom was set up nice - the bed was super comfy- and was very clean when I arrived. It even had a microwave, mini fridge, plates and utensils to use.

Room Tip: Their parking garage is a block away but I recommend it since the area gets busy during the day...

Check in super easy. Great location. The rooms are small and so are the bathrooms. But this is a funky hotel that is clean and older. Yes you have to climb stairs but no problem. I would stay here again.

There is not a bad thing to say about this host or place it is convenient to every thing. We came in later than expected and self check in was a breeze. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip thru.

Not sure why this hotel is categorized as ‘quiet’, literally could not get any sleep. It’s like staying overnight at a college dorm or something. 10pm-1am: Hear a couple fighting in their room. Can clearly hear their fighting word for word (tons of profanity and yelling) and door being slammed numerous times. I have no idea which unit the noise is coming from, but I assume it was a unit 2 rooms over… crazy. 2-4am: My guest and I are awoken to noise from a couple having loud sex. You can hear the woman moaning and yelling, bed creaking, and music blasting. 5am: Someone 3 units down is blasting music, making the hallway loud and is very clearly loud from our room as well. I am SO disappointed. I have never stayed at a hotel where I was awoken from noise numerous times. I regret picking this hotel and I am exhausted. I wonder, what kind of hotel has bedroom walls and doors so thin I can hear people units down??? As I’m writing this, I have my AirPods in my ears so I can try to sleep. The room was clean and shower had nice and hot water. (that is why I am being generous and giving this hotel 3 stars). However, only getting less than an hour of sleep is ridiculous. I had a much better sleep at a days inn(which was cheaper than here, but wanted to give this place a chance), and will not be picking a hotel like this ever again. If I had a car, I would’ve slept there instead. I should’ve been smart and avoided this place. Just regretful and exhausted, and definitely wish I could get my money back.

Hotel Royal was amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was perfect! The room was clean, and the staff was beyond accommodating. The location is close to the beach and near several yummy food options. There's also a grocery store across the street - no need for a car. :) We stayed here the night before boarding a cruise, and we will definitely stay here again next time.

I absolutely love this place! This is a much better experience than you would find at some of the more popular motels. It's very old but clean and has everything you could want. The room has a sink, a little folding table with chairs, a nice little padded chair, air conditioner, dishes, and so much more. I highly recommend it to travelers who don't want to spend a lot but want a great little room at a 1920's hotel.

We stayed 2 nights, one before and one after a cruise. This place is charming, and full of character. Not shiny and new, but clean, friendly staff, and comfortable. Tons of bars and restaurants, shopping, and the beach all within walking distance. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
