This is the second time I've stayed at the Varden Hotel. The hotel is perfectly located near the Long Beach Convention Center and the rooms are clean and modern, a true urban gem! What really sets this hotel apart is the accommodating hotel staff willing to go above and beyond to ensure you have a perfect stay :) I highly...

Room is small as a ships cabin but clean and well appointed. Very helpful snd lovely staff. Good location, close to downtown and public transport. Breakfast ok. Laundrette around the corner was very convenient.

The people working there are real friendly, however, for the same price you can sleep at much better hotels. Windows are single glass, so you hear everything from the street. Rooms are small and even while they advertise that every room has a bath, mine didn't. Breakfast is a plate full of cakes and muffins

This hotel is very conveniently located a short walk from the conference centre. Good clean rooms are on the small side but this is not a problem as they are well set up for sleep and work. Quiet air conditioning unit. The higher floors have better natural light but beware there is no lift! The shower rooms are small and...

You couldn't ask for a friendlier, or more helpful staff! This was our one night stop on my wife and i's honeymoon and we were beyond happy with our stay! Some reviews say the rooms are small, but honestly the entire elegant and minimalistic design of the rooms gave it an incredible charm! The rooms were great, the breakfast and...

The Varden labels itself as "A Boutique Hotel." When I see, "boutique," I always wonder if this is some unique quirky (good) place, or a tiny odd (bad) place. Well, the rooms are the Varden are small and the place is a little quirky, but overall it is a great value. And if you need to be in Long Beach,...

Though a small hotel, it has a very friendly atmosphere. It is difficult to find such warmth in hotel staff who are caring for your individual needs. The amenities may not be luxurious, but are comfortable . It is well located for easy walk to the seaside. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and anyone who wishes to...

This is a very nice and fresh little hotel with modern design and very friendly staff. The rooms are quite small but it's not a big problem. I also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (especially the nice choice of yoghurts) and the very nice coffee machine that makes excellent coffee. Location is also quite central, just a short walk away from...

The owners and staff at the Varden were such a delight! So friendly and helpful (you do not always come across that in the LA area). The rooms were small, as advertised which was completely fine as we did not spend much time in the room anyway. The bed was heavenly soft and comfortable - we both woke totally refreshed...
