I enjoyed my stay at the Varden. It is full of history, friendly employees, and the location can't be beat. Yes, the rooms are small, but they are creatively and efficiently designed for maximum use of space in a historical building. There is a European...More
This was my second time to the hotel and I was delighted with the hotel again. Small, personal and relaxing. I would highly recommend to anybody wanting a great location in Long Beach close to pine avenue.

The Varden has a lot right next to it for parking with no extra charge so all is good on that point. Ask for a darker room if they have one, but we've never had a problem with noise or too much light and we stay on New Year's Eve. It's a boutique hotel concentrating on Service which is GREAT. Very compact rooms with high-end bedding and toiletries. It does have a tv, free wifi and wine in the early evening and coffee and continental breakfast in the morning. Lovely personal owners and staff. Have a great stay in Long Beach!
