Entire family has been coming here since it first opened. Recently switched owners and is not the same. We asked for an end site and was told they all were reserved, none were occupied that nite. The front desk girl was rude and unwelcoming. Still complementary coffee and muffins. Does still have a great dog run area, and nice pull thru sites. They cut a lot of the trees, but they seem to be coming back. Miss the warm family feel.
Nice location in Lone Pine. Well spaced pull thru sites. Community pool and restrooms available. Small market for a number of supplies, food items and beverages. Just about four miles from downtown Lone Pine. There is a bit of highway noise, but not enough to disturb sleep. There are tortoises kept on the property and in the morning through afternoon, you can visit them just outside the pool area. Can get hot here in the summer. Complementary coffee and muffins in the morning are a nice touch. We did have full hookups. Internet worked fine for us, but we understand it can be spotty and depends on where you are located on the grounds. Cable was not working for us and we understand this service is no longer provided.
Oh i like this place. Quiet spacious rv park, park nicely decorated for kids with benches and playground, a turtle house to look, clean pool (but cold!) , very happy management, fresh coffee and muffins daily, easy going, nice park, a felt safe. I'd go there no brainer.
RV park has new owners. All employees that have been there for years are no longer there, no family feel now. First time I've ever seen a charge for crafts for kids. Outrageous $10 charge per child for crafts!! Never had to pay previous. At least the coffee and muffins are still offered at no charge. All new staff now, higher price for campsite and fewer amenities. Cable TV is not "guaranteed" to work. Checkout of campsite is earlier than other places I've been. Dog play area is the only bonus for this park, but all big trees are cut down so there is no shade.
We were on a 7 week RV trip during the summer and wanted to stop here to see Mt. Whitney. We made reservations a few days before our stop. So glad we did. It is a darling place with large crushed gravel/sand pull through and complete hookups. Large laundry rooms and showers. A large and friendly staff at the camp store near a gated swimming pool. Unfortunately, there was a fire near Whitney and star gazing was ruined but I hear it is wonderful. If you ever stay here, call early and book a spot away from the highway. This park is right next to the highway. We have a loud air conditioner so it didn’t bother us and it would not deter me from staying again.
