The front desk staff is friendly and personable. They even kept a box for us that we had mailed ahead for couple of weeks. We stayed in the hotel and had booked in advance, which we are glad we did as all the rooms filled up by the evening - at least, in the hotel. This was a Sunday evening....

What a surprise to find a motel in the US that has 1 bathroom and shower to be shared by a whole wing! No mention was made of this when reserving, and it is not a common question to ask US motels. The one bathroom that they did have had a shower that I would be ashamed to put in...

Our AAA DOW VILLA MOTEL rooms all have private bathrooms. When this guest called to make a reservation it was late evening of the arrival day and he was told the only rooms available were in our HISTORICAL DOW HOTEL without a private bathroom. Very few of our HOTEL rooms must use the public showers as most have private bathrooms....

Really enjoyed...very clean. The air could have been set cooler a little warm to sleep. Has a card table in lobby that the family used to play cards...FUN!!! Historic old building!!! If traveling with small children ask for a ground floor room, the windows can be opened.

I liked Lone Pine. This place had heart, pride and seemed at one with itself. As opposed to so many other run-down, desolate, 2-gas-stations-and-a-pawn-shop towns we travelled through. And from the outside at least the Dow Villa motel looks to be the best place to stay overnight in Lone Pine. And what a backdrop - fantastic view of the mountains...

We stayed there 3 years ago, after finishing the John Muir trail and since we can't keep away from the Sierras, we came back. Although we had on.y reserved gone night, turning up a day earlier wasn't a problem and they found the parcel of clean clothes and other bits and pieces we didn't want to carry on the hike,...

Wonderful motel to stay after a backpack or visiting the area. Clean, comfortable. The Dow Villa Motel rooms are a bigger, newer, and nicer than the older Dow Hotel rooms, but I'd take either. Nice pool. Located right in the center of town. Comfortable lobby, friendly staff.

This place was a great find. It is an iconic roadside motel that looks like it came straight out of a movie. And appropriately it is where John Wayne stayed in when he was filming in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The rooms are comfortable and well priced, the pool is a good place to cool off in as the sun...

We've stayed at the Dow Villa a couple times over the years when visiting family in Lone Pine and it never lets us down. On our recent stay of 1 night we stayed on the newer side (not the historic hotel section) on the first floor. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Nice and quiet too. A/c...

Stayed one night recently at the Motel as they also have a Hotel. Rooms were good size and very clean. The were also nicely decorated and had a microwave and frige. Plenty of parking was available. No breakfast available but good coffee in lobby. Rooms also a very good value!
